  1. So I've got a grand new stainless prop $500 a brand new HD hub $175. I've got the prop sitting on a few towels on top of a concrete floor. I'm trying to keep from damaging the prop but would you think slinging a framing hammer with a wood block or a large socket makes sense? I feel like the fins are going to bed. It's really hard to swing a framing hammer into your prop.
  2. I'm a wee bit frustrated at this point. I bought a razor 4 xl from Mark croxton to put on my ranger z21. I also asked Mark to send a new hub kit which he did. After going tk install it I remembered that the guy who I bought the boat from had put a new lower unit on with a 1.25 shaft. The hub kit mark sent didn't fit that. That's fine. I drove an hour to get a 1.25 kit which is the HD flow torq ssr hub. I've been trying to install the hub for over two hours. The only difference between my old tempest and marks is that on the flat sides within the prop there are vertical lines that aren't in my old tempest. As you go to knock the prop in those lines carve grooves into the rubber of the hd hub. Still, I can't for the life of me get that last 1/4 inch of the hub to go in. I'm at the point where I'm worried I'm going to damage the prop from the shear force of trying to drive the hub in. My guess is I'm just stupid but I'm going Crazy here.
  3. I own both, the metanium any day, twice on Sunday, not even close
  4. Jdm bantam or metanium mgl (pre 2020 mgl) on ebay
  5. I see the majority of pros in bass and Mlf using straight floruo
  6. I'll admit it seems like a big mistake and it most likely was. I got caught up in a boat rewiring project and didn't think too much about the fact that a lot of my jigs I left my trailers on and put them back in trays. A lot of jigs of all types including a bunch of jack hammers. Does anybody do this for ease of use next time? Unfortunately it appears some have started to rust. Using the flambeau rust proof boxes but I still have some. Does anybody have any opinions on how to clean them or is any rust a lost lure?
  7. Currently using flambeau 3700 style size and wondering how many years you go before replacing, mine only have one season but id hate to have rust
  8. Does anyone know the differences between these two ?
  9. Diablo spec R is a light rod, my buddy uses a met mgl, I'd think a curado dc would be on the heavy side, just my opinion
  10. If it wasn't so heavy it'd be a great color for a cool kids setup. I'd buy one for that purpose but I like that lightness of the tatula lt 2000 and 3000 way better.
  11. The 2019 Levante's were all destroyed unfortunately due to durability issues. I believe they are being redone but their arrival date is suspect as well as they are most likely a different blank. So, no levantes and especially no 25% off leavantes
  12. Smackdown in 40lb or power pro maxcuatro or super slick in 40lb, imo going below 40 on those braids will make it susceptible to dig in. I've been fishing straight braid and braid to leader for years. This past fall I gave flouro a try. I ran a bantam mgl and aldebaran with 12 lb tatsu and to me it fishes like a rubber band, I can't stand it and will likely switch those setups back. I personally enjoy the hard thud of a bite on braid or braid to leader, it leaves little to the unknown of what's happening on the end of your line
  13. Or the 893,the 893 is fabulous
  14. I agree. I used the steps above. I never looked for any different settings. I adjust mine when I switch lures and while it doesn't feel as nice as reels priced above it, it does bomb lures, especially heavy ones. I could throw a 1/2 trap or whopper plopper to the moon on 40-65lb smackdown.
  15. What happens when your $900 combo slides out over time? I'm assuming there is nothing supporting the butt end of the rod. I'd think at some point slipping could happen?
  16. I don't know about you guys but I don't like a glass rod around heavy grass. I vote a nice MH graphite rod.
  17. They always have a "sale".... run away
  18. I'll help you, use the expride and buy two nrxs in August. You won't regret it. You will however regret a Dobyns imo since your trying to upgrade from the expride. I think a lot would agree that the expride may have equal to or better than sensitivity to when compared to the Dobyns. The brailist is a great option if you can't wait.
  19. I really like my 7'6 envy for frogs, but expensive for a frog rod and I agree. The expride is equal too. My 7'3xh expride is unbelievably light. The envy locking nut annoys me but overall that rod had a great action for frogs and buzz baits.
  20. I love it for casting distance, not a fan of the color for straight braid.
