G. Loomis IMX Pro
Better off going IMX

GlX, Destroyer or Helium 3
I like the FMJ for 3/8 and 1/2 oz jigs. The 844C GLX is awesome too! They will both compliment the Spec R you have perfectly

GlX, Destroyer or Helium 3
The GLX or Destroyer would be my choice. Can't go wrong. They are both phenomenal!!!

Replacement spools instead of buying a whole new reel?
Better off buying another SLX due to its price point.

Kistler helium 3, ALX ZOLO , Shimano Zodias ??
I agree exactly. The NRX can only be rivaled in sensitivity by a handful of rods and the ALXs aren't close.

Kistler helium 3, ALX ZOLO , Shimano Zodias ??
Equal in your opinion. Not in mine or many others.

Kistler helium 3, ALX ZOLO , Shimano Zodias ??
Why is this of any relevance.... ALX doesn't have a rod to rival the performance or sensitivity. Regarding the post, I would go with the Zodias. It would be my first choice by far. Extremely sensitive and impressive build quality. Kistler would be my second pick with ALX being my last. Just from my experience with the rods the Zodias and Helium are better performers.

Need Help Finding Fish
I know that they are probably staging but I just can't find anything. I know they say they look for shallow flats to spawn and they like sandy, hardy bottom but I haven't seen any beds. I am fishing points, going into the arms of the creeks of the main lake and fishing on secondary points, as well as running and looking for flats but haven't had a whole lot of success. I am new to Eufaula and don't know where they spawn as I've only been in the area for a limited time... Am I looking in the wrong places for the beds? What makes you pick an area to look for spawning fish as there are a lot of shallow areas in creeks I have fish and still haven't seen them.

Need Help Finding Fish
We have stained water and can difficult to see if they are cruising. I have fished multiple creeks from the mouth to the back of the creeks dirt shallow just for reassurance and have yet to see any cruisers or beds. We just keep catching 1 lbers to the biggest which is a couple of 3 lbers on the main river on laydowns. What do you suggest I do? What am I missing? Also where do you think the staged females are at given the small information detailed above?

Need Help Finding Fish
Any help is appreciated. What do you recommend haha? Just curious as the south end of the lake is seeing beds supposedly. Granted I fish way north but still I figured the would start staging up. But I haven't seen beds and haven't had ANY success fishing coves and creeks. All have been caught on rip rap and laydowns/stumps on the main river with squarebills, spinnerbaits, and a few on a buzzbait

Need Help Finding Fish
I fish the river system around River Bend and north end of Lake Eufaula and have noticed a few things recently and would love some insight from more knowledagble/experienced anglers. Currently, water temps on the river and the north end of Eufaula are around 59-60 with some creeks warmer around 60-62. Currently, there have been some reports of spawning bass on the south end of the lake, however, I have yet to see any beds. We have fished the past 3 weekends and can't seem to find any fish in the backs of pockets and creeks, we've been catching 10-12 fish per outing (mainly 1-2 lbers with a couple 3 lbs) on squarebills, buzzbaits, and spinnerbaits on shallow rip rap and laydowns on the main river. Any insight into what stage the bass are in and how to find more would be much appreciated as we are stumped...

Negotiating Rod Price?
Support local, when you can. Goodluck. Worst case is to just ask for 10% if he/she won't do the previous price and pick it up.

Negotiating Rod Price?
Well said. If you are a returning customer and have done business, there is a chance. However, if you aren't a familiar face in the store and show up looking for a discount, I can almost guarantee they say no. Regardless, goodluck. I recommend doing business there and frequenting them a lot. Typically getting in good with them will benefit y'all both.

New Levantes
Just noticed the brand new Megabass Levantes are now available. Super interested in a lot of the models. I love the way they feel but wanted input on any recommendations on models.

Alx Enox vs Megabass Orochi XX
Agreed. The XX, which I own 3 different models, are some of the finest rods in there price range. IMO I would easily go Megabass. Not a fan of ALX personally. Owned one, a ALX Enox Gravity for 1 day and no longer is a part of my arsenal.

Is rod sensitivity more about feeling bites or feeling bottom/structure?
Great outlook as well as legendary name haha

No problem buddy. ?

Is rod sensitivity more about feeling bites or feeling bottom/structure?
I'm almost certain Shimano/G Loomis has a fishing facility in California and South Carolina, not Georgia. As it's in Charleston. They may have one for cycling in Georgia though.

Is rod sensitivity more about feeling bites or feeling bottom/structure?
Exactly! Right on point TOXIC. Most people who knock the expensive rods haven't tried them. Are they necessary? Absolutely not. Are they amazing and make fishing more enjoyable over value rods? Heck yes!! No questions about it. All rods are not created equal, even high end rods. Just because the price is high doesn't mean it's going to have better performance. For example, just because a rod retails for $399 doesn't mean that price is justified as other rods at the same price could perform 10X better and you would love. Also, go out and fish these rods. Sensitivity tests people in stores people use I have found to be subpar at judging performance. Find a buddy or local fisherman who has one and ask to fish it for a weekend. If you can't see paying the money, that is perfectly acceptable and I could understand. However, worth is in the eye of the beholder. I will gladly pay to have my St Croix, Megabass, G Loomis, and Phenix rods. That's for every angler to decide. I will gladly let someone demo my rods and I have never heard/seen anyone upset after fishing them.

Interesting. I have never heard anyone every mention that. Explain if you don't mind. I agree for the most part with this. Knowing what to look for in terms of line jumping and line movements is important. However, sometimes you have to rely more on feel which is detected easier with a more sensitive rod especially when they just pick it up which I notice they do a lot for me in the winter.

Did switching to flourocarbon get you more bites?
Well said

Dobyns Rods
You'll have to come fishing with me sometime and see my equipment then you'll know. An instant look on my deck will say a thousand words.
-
Dobyns Rods
You are correct. They don't manufacture any of there blanks. They source all of them. You'd be surprised how few companies manufacture blanks. Then there is only a handful that make quality blanks.

Did switching to flourocarbon get you more bites?
Your attempt to use your prior experience and how long you have used certain types of line are irrelevant to the topic. Would you have caught/lost those fish still? I would assume a sizable amount but ultimately who knows. It is ultimately impossible to prove which line is more effective as that would require a controlled environment which can not be replicated in fishing. It comes down to preference to individuals after they analyze the main advantages and disadvantages mono, copolymer, FC, braid, or even using main line to a leader.

Dobyns Rods
Since there isn't a dealer in the area, I would fish what you know as you are familiar with St Croix especially if you are pleased with the rods. Dobyns power ratings is about 1/2 to 1 power off what I am use to. However, St Croix is my preference of the two. Dobyns makes good rods but sensitivity wise I prefer others.
