Who uses Junebug worms
I don't have access to my logs right now but I'm pretty sure Junebug would be the top producer in terms of number of bass caught on plastics in the last 20 years. I've caught some good bass on JB but I don't think any of my top 10 bass were caught on it.

Cheating vs not-ethical or neither
I would say that's a call that only the tournament director can make. Just because your touching the dock doesn't mean you're on the dock. Just because you are touching the boat doesn't mean you're on the boat. When you officially go from touching the dock to being on the dock is a judgement call. If I was the official, I would say when the majority of your weight is on the dock and not the boat you have exited the boat.

Rick clunn and his agelessness
Big win for a great angler and the sport in general.

Reeling hand?
For slow retrieve presentations I keep the rod in my right hand so that I can impart the precise wrist actions necessary to make my bait irresistible to the fish. This is only possible with my highly trained right hand so both my spinning rod and slow retrieve bait casting rods have left hand reels. My crank bait rods have right hand reels so I can do all that cranking with my right hand. I've been doing that way for 30 years and will still be doing it that way next week when this topic comes up again.?

Is bed fishing ethical?
I don't keep the bass I catch and I don't really enjoy fishing for bedding fish. That said when it comes to protecting the resource, I buy my fishing license knowing that the money is being used to pay experts to manage the bass populations in the lakes I fish. Some lakes needs to be closed to fishing during the spawn, some need strict size limits, some need slot limits. The people making these decisions know what they are doing.

Fishing Rods
There's just something about being in a tackle store and holding a $400 rod in your hand. It feels amazing. If you have someone else hand you various rods while you keep your eyes closed, you'll find that they all feel about the same.

Abu Garcia vs Shimano
I need to correct a post I made earlier. As of January 7th 2019, Pure Fishing is owned by Sycamore Partners. Why this company would want to buy Pure Fishing is a bit of a mystery. Sycamore Partners did invest in a successful women's clothing store called Cold Water Creek. You can fish in creeks....that's the only fishing connection I'm aware of.

Is rod sensitivity more about feeling bites or feeling bottom/structure?
No but I am willing to pay extra for American made all things being equal. Most of my rods are American made. All of my reels are made in Japan.

Is rod sensitivity more about feeling bites or feeling bottom/structure?
I am willing to pay a premium for a product that engineered and made in the US by craftsmen who care about the product. St Croix makes the case on their website about America made craftsmanship. They also give pretty detailed specs on their rods and what they are made of. I don't see this for gloomis. There is a five year old video tour of their US factory on youttube. Are their rods still made there? If it says so on their website, I can't find it.

Strong Points and Weak Points
I've always felt like it was better to master a few techniques than to be novice at many. Denny Brauer comes to mind as someone that went to the top by being a master of some very specific techniques. I love fishing offshore structure and feel like I still have many ways that I can improve doing so. That will be my focus for the foreseeable future.

Is rod sensitivity more about feeling bites or feeling bottom/structure?
Yeah, I've done a few blind test and it changed they way I buy rods. Can anyone really tell me why a NRX rod is better than your typical $150 rod? I'm looking for facts not opinions. Their web sites says they are insanely light but doesn't say how much they weight. It says they use "cutting edge graphite technology". What is that? I think for a lot of people, it boost their confidence to fish with a $600 rod. Other than that, it's hard for me to quantify any real differences between a Gloomis and a Quantum.

Been looking for years
I cut the cable years ago. I have a Tivo OTA DVR and an antenna in the attic. What many people don't realize is that each TV broadcaster in your area has three to five stations. Some are just local weather 24/7, others play old movies and old TV shows. I think I get around 20 channels over the air. I never watch most of them just like with cable. During football season, I subscribe to a service that gives me all of the ESPN channels over the internet. I've used SlingTV for the last couple of years. There are other options that give you this as well. I'm hoping ESPN will launch their own service before next fall.

Suggestions on Fish Finder
I'm very happy with my two Solix. I''ve used Lowrance products in the past and had no complaints. The reasons I choose to switch to Humminbird were these. They have HD Lakemaster maps for the lakes I fish, they integrate with my MinnKota trolling motor, and I use 360 imaging. I know Lowrance is coming out with a trolling motor and live view so the comparisons may look very different this time next year.
