Texas Freeze and Bass
I need to go fishing with Milliken or that Angler Up Brant, they always have epic days. I was considering quitting my job and becoming a full time YouTuber. But my wife said the only time I actually catch any fish would be in the outtakes.

Shimano Curado 300 vs. Daiwa Lexa WN300
I wish I knew a place with bass so big I need 300-400 yards of line on my reel.

2 shot club
After having my 59 year old uncle die, a friend who was only 42 die and then, in late January a neighbor across the street from me die from Covid, I got the vaccine. Got it March 15th, the first day I was eligible. People that live and work in NJ are now eligible if their BMI is over 25, that is nearly everyone (me included). I signed up on the 11th or 12th and was in on the 15th, the first day I was eligible. No problem except for pain at the injection site for 3 days. I didn’t even feel the injection, though. Waiting for the call for shot # 2.

Signs of life but still tough.
Was out looking around last weekend in the general geographic area of the OP, saw some signs of life. Only bluegills. Mainly the bigger ones. No bass. No carp. No catfish. Waiting for a new credit card to come so I can get $200 off on a new setup. Will probably give it a shot when I get the rod. I never see fish until May, though. Not sure why?

Cleaning House
In my 25+ years of working from hard labor to as a professional, it seems pay rate has little to do with worker satisfaction and performance. It’s more so getting the right people. People that care about what they do. And people that care about what their people do. Today, “hardly anybody wants to work hard.” Thats a quote from my boss, back when I worked hard labor 10-12 hours a day for as many as 10 days straight. It is sad to see people today suffering depression and emotional distress, as soon as they actually have to do the job they are hired to. There are plenty of high paid miserable people out there. I deal with them all the time. The money is definitely not the problem.

Best lure for Mostly every fish?
A silver spoon. Fish must be raised better than I was.

Brainfarts while rigging?
I’m an expert at dropping whole bags of orange beads into the rocks. No matter what container they are in, they are going in between the rocks.

How to cover water but with finesse?
Whenever I hear pressured public pond, I have to say I see it differently. In the pressured public ponds I know of, I don’t think pressure is the problem. I think it’s that they only have a couple of things to eat and there’s tons of it around. These fish are never hungry and don’t have to compete for food. Plus, they’ve never seen 99% of what everyone is throwing alive in the wild. If they only see bluegills and crawfish, in only one type of terrain, they don’t even know what anything else is.

White Wine drinkers...
The closest thing to white wine as I’ll go is Prosecco. Or single malt scotch....

If I were to throw a live worm for a Bass how would I throw it on a bobber, out deep?
Just pretend it’s a Senko that’s still alive.

Victory Is Near
I was an anti St Croix guy for a long time. But the last 10-15 years saw them greatly improve, IMO. Nice to finally see a rod that considers balance.

Confused about the various rod manufacturers' rod power ratings and how they correspond to one another, and also looking for a recommendation/try to decide on a medium heavy fast casting rod.
that’s it.

Adjusting baitcaster
To add to the good advice already given. Start with lots of brakes and the heaviest weight the rod can throw comfortably. Use a small heavier bait or just a weight. Then throw it. A lot. Then go lower and back the brakes off until you hit the lightest thing you can throw.

Anyone else "baby" their equipment?
I take care of my gear. From rinsing rods and reels, to tearing things down and deep cleaning. But I also fish what works best hard, sometimes extremely hard. I stay more towards mid market stuff. $150-350 for the most part. I have little interest in ultrathin screaming “break me” gear. If the rod or reel does what it should, it will wind up extremely worn. Because if I’m catching fish, that becomes the priority, not avoiding scuff marks. Any gear that I’ve had that was too fancy to actually fish sat on my desk for a few years and was later sold on eBay. I am not a collector.

How often to retie braid
When it’s time. I get rid of it when it looks bad or when my line capacity goes down from cutting a tiny bit off every time I use the rod or when I get snagged. Sometimes, especially in saltwater, where you reel through a lot of sand you get tiny cuts that make tiny hairs come out of the sides of the line. I always switch it out when that happens. But it never happens on my bass setups.

Scorpion DC vs Curado DC
All this talk about the scorpion this and scorpion that makes me feel like I need one ?

Easiest BC reel setup to learn that is readily available retail?
The OP is a massively loaded question. There are a lot of great answers here. But no one will make you better at this than going out and casting. And casting. And casting. It takes forever to get better at casting. And even longer if you want to cast small, light baits. The problem is to go light, it’s all a matter of either rod selection or reel speed and startup, plus the affect the line has on everything. You just have to get the feel of it from time. A long time. If you love fishing, it won’t matter because you’re always going to want to throw just one mare cast.

Using braid with a leader on micro-guide rods
Same here. Has never been a problem, because I just use very thin line. When knot size is an issue, I set up with a short enough leader that doesn’t get reeled in past the rod tip. One tip is tie a uni to overhand knot. I know, it’s a weak knot, but I’ve never lost a fish to a break off at the knot.

So.. do you have a lucky charm?
I used to have one. A perfect clip on one hand operated pocket tanto knife. Broke it removing the old kitchen backsplash. Had it for at least 30 years. Yes, it made a difference in my fishing luck. My new “better” replacement just isn’t as good, it hard to get out because the clip is too tight on my pocket. Terrible.

UFO's: Are Aliens Among Us?
IMO, it would take several generations of offspring born in the UFO space ship to travel to earth from some far away planet in a far away galaxy light years away. Then if there’s any truth in the claims on Ancient Aliens that ancient kings like Akhenaten were aliens or humans that came from another planet, the idea that they were all inbred to keep a “pure royal bloodline” is probably just made up by the same primitive archeologists that made up the story that you could build the pyramids with wooden hand tools.
