Proper Way to Reel
All I’m going to say is holding the rod is the part that is going to get you injured.

Yes, it’s good. Light on the usual scotch flavor, but has all the sweetness of rum. Great stuff for the summer. I’m surprised rum barrels could add so much sweetness and wonder if it’s just sweetened. But it tastes like the sweetness of rum, not added sugar. So I don’t know.

Air you can wear....go home
People think I have a leaky roof or basement. But I really have a high powered dehumidifying/humidifying HVAC system. There’s a pump on it to pump the water out. Originally it was routed out to my driveway. During a very dry winter a few years back, the excess water from the humidifier left a trail of ice in the driveway about 2” thick. I later rerouted the outlet to prevent the driveway icing. Nothing beats good humidity control.

Finally fixed this issue
It’s possible. I find that this issue is worst when fishing vertical. Vertical, I get slippage even locked down. I also think it might be the gear ratio, I fish 7-8 speed reels. People say there’s less slip with slower reels. Though I don’t understand how gear ratio could matter. Note: all of my reels have greased drags.

Been going with this recently. Less than $40 a bottle. Reminds me of my younger days of rum and coke or rum and anything else. Perfectly light for summer. Doesn’t make me hot. But that might be because I’m down to no more than one night per week. And half as much as usual. Or less. Need to shed another 10 lbs.

look at the wear on #30 seaguer fluoro leader after 4 hrs.
I agree, with @Hammer 4 straight braid is the way to go. But if you are using fluoro, try Seaguar Red Label fishing line. It is the best leader material I’ve seen hit the market since forever.

Disposing of Old Fishing Line?
I ball it up, put it in my pocket and throw it away at home.

Are you a precision caster?
I am a better precision caster at 200 feet and at 20 feet than I am anywhere in between.

Cliche albums you love?
Yeah. IMO, ride the lightning was the record that defined Metallica.

Wasting Money on Soft Plastics
Yes. But there’s no way around it. Certain saltwater species, basically all of the ones I fish for, require fresh bait. Or live bait. I got it down to a science to keep bait fresh or alive. I keep it in a 6 pack cooler. Either swimming in cold water or on ice. Or in a bigger cooler, with containers inside. I started this when I realized that in crowded bunker dunker spots, whenever a few new guys show up and get in the water, bam, fish on. Maybe 2 or 3. Then, nothing. Same thing. Over and over. Every time. The only thing it could be, if they are just all soaking the same bait, is it goes bad in about 20 minutes. At $8 and up a pack, for one use, I’m keeping it fresh.

Finally fixed this issue
It’s a weird thing about low profile reels. When I use an Avet SX set to 4-5lbs no matter what is on the other end, once it hits the dog the drag isn’t slipping until after the hook is in. I hate that I love the sound of that click when it hits the dog.

Cliche albums you love?
Black Sabbath Paranoid. Metallica Ride the Lightning. Guns n Roses Use Your Illusion II.

Wasting Money on Soft Plastics
Still much more economical than fresh bait. I see every cast with every technique with anything I’m throwing as one of these dollars and a dream.

Finally fixed this issue
One thing that always gets me is that no matter what your drag is set to on almost all low profile baitcasters, the drag will slip on the hook set on just about any reel with less than 15-20lbs of max drag. It does not do that on a quality conventional reel set to only 4 or 5 pounds of drag. It gets really annoying sometimes.

Am I alone?
Not alone. I have certain rods for certain things. Either by weight fished or stiffness. I do not like to take more than 2 rods with me.

How would you fish this?
Instead of a chatterbait. I’d use a 3-4” paddle tail on a T-Rig light enough to skim over the tops or down around the edges. Or maybe right through it if it’s not sticky. I’d do this especially if things that make noise don’t work. For the T-Rig try small lead (if legal), 2-5g and a small plastic bead, 4-6mm. It’ll keep the sound down and get the tail wagging.

Any smokers out there(?)
I can think of a few people I’ve known over the years that were old, lifelong, healthy, smokers that insisted being forced to quit while in a hospital or rehab facility after getting injured from their active lifestyle insist that not being able to smoke slowed down their recovery.

What's your favorite coffee?
Starbucks. Two reasons. It’s dark roast and has the most caffeine. All coffee aficionados know the lighter the roast, the more caffeine. Starbucks figured out how to get around that. I go with the Costco Starbucks roast. It’s clearly Starbucks coffee before they invented Pikes Place. Back when I worked in the city and went to the fancy coffee shoppe every week, my favorite was French Burundi. Good earthy flavor. Average price. I tried the expensive ones like real Kona and Blue Mountain. Just not my cup of tea ? Nothing fancy or expensive for me when it comes to coffee. I like it basic, dark and with a high caffeine content.

Theory on why bass or other gamefish can at time become very selective.
@Mobasser competition is the one part of the equation most people leave out. I believe that when the fish can eat at will, without ever worrying about competition it creates what most people call “pressure.” And makes fish harder to catch. When the fish need to prevent the competition from eating, they get more aggressive and feel like they need to eat to prevent the competition from getting that meal. That makes for easier to catch fish, even in places that are fished to death.
