Any luck recently (beside the GIANT)? Anyone got a pattern down in northern Illinois? I know it’s still cold but I was able to get out and “test” the new gear. I got break next week so I’ll be out there a lot.

Definitely a jig because the two times I fished it I finally got bigger fish instead of small fish all the time. If I’m going for number though, it’s got to be a ribbon tail worm Texas rigged.

My goals are: 1) Beat my PB of 2.5lbs 2) Catch multiple fish on treble hook lures. 3) Complete all 6 MTB Slams (I got boxes over winter that I have yet to use) 4) fish 10 new bodies of water 5) Fish with other high school friends 6) Have fun in my second year of bass fishing

How do you guys store your rods with line? How does the line not get tangled?

Yeah I’m in northern Illinois and we just got snow for some reason! ? Just got to wait a bit.

What do you mean by good water? Can I access the bass this early if I’m a bank fisherman?

Do I start as soon as the ice thaws? Do I target lakes or ponds first? The temp is 43 this weekend so do I start this weekend or wait till a few weeks and it’s in the upper 40s and 50s for good(it’s in the 20s right now) thanks!

I am wondering if I should save up my money and buy one next year. I don’t need any electronics or fancy stuff- just rod holders and space for tackle boxes. I would like a sit on top one with rails for accessories that can be added on later. I believe that if it is sit on top then I could stand too which I would really like. One problem that I have found is that I don’t have racks (or trailer hitch) on either of my parents cars (I’m in high school with my license) so how could I transport it? Could it fit in a Honda minivan with the seats taken out? Thanks guys!

I will mainly use the ML for drop shoting, Ned rigs and other finesse applications for river smallmouth and lake largemouth and smallmouth. I am struggling to decide if I want to buy braid and if so do I use backing (what type/how long) and what type/long of leader? I already have 8lb fluoro to use in this. I plan to use the M for just about everything that the ML won’t use or I won’t want to use in my MH baitcaster. I bought 10lb suffix mono for this but should I also use braid. This is not a priority because I will need more sensitivity with the ML than this one. Any input?? Thanks- John

I bought about 10 because I’m a high school student and I am really impressed with the quality for $2 baits.

I’m really tempted to get a dobyns Sierra especially since I kind of need a casting rod. If I got a 6’6 MH what next?? I’m thinking flipping stick or cranking/treble bait rod.

Zoom for plastics and whatever’s cheapest for hardbaits.

I think it would be good for kids...

It’s a real stress relief!! During the week I am bombarded with tests, homework, and quizzes. Fishing is a for fun challenge that always teaches me more about me and the fish.

It went amazing! Caught about 150 bass total (50+ myself). Unfortunately they were all under 2lbs so no new pb. I got good video but I’ve been too busy with basketball to edit it so I’ve got that to do over Christmas break. I will also be filming a ton this spring and probably every other day in the summer so I’ll be making more vids then and start the channel when bball ends. Thanks for asking!!

Just bought a bag of swamp crawlers and a dobyns fury 7’ ML spinning rod. Almost bought a NASCI but it wasn’t on sale so I’m going to wait.

From what I’ve heard the whopper plopper kicks butt!

Not great: about 14lbs. Just want to beat that next year!
