  1. Just a recap the baits were too soft to use. 3or 4 casts and they were torn up without any help from a fish. I have disposed of those baits. Thanks for all the responses
  2. I really believe you are right. It is a chemical reaction. It happened right about 3 or 4 weeks out. Maybe one would just put it on a few plastics just for that day. I'm going to tryout what I have in the morning. My friend says the instructions say to apply overnight. Maybe it doesn't have a shelf life for much else
  3. They are softer just like you stated I am going fishing tommorow so I'll let you know how it works out. The first time out for me with this scent I had a very good day.
  4. I had 5 bags of baits that my buddy put in the scent. I would say a tablespoon of the scent in each bag more or less. I'm at 4 weeks approximately. And 3 of the 5 bags the plastic worms have become a lot softer and a little thicker than a worm out of a pack that was untreated. The baits are only exposed to a temperature change at the pond. Otherwise they come back inside the house after the fishing trip. I'm going to get a chance to see what they do tommorow. I'll let you know.
  5. Sorry for your loss.
  6. I have been and I am still a skeptic with the subject of scents. But my fishing partner got started with Bait Fuel recently. The first time out we had a very good day. The following week was a little better than average at our second pond. We went back to the first pond this week and I thought maybe there is something to this scent. That day we caught 3 fish total together. So now we are at the 4 week mark and the plastics that were treated are just a bit swollen. So my question is this are the swollen plastics any good now?
  7. I fish Charlie Brewer a little bit lite. If you stay true to his method you will learn to be a line watcher. A 6ft to 7 ft medium lite is my choice.
  8. I'm going to try this one out I already have the baits
  9. Yes it is a the spider head from Charlie Brewer.
  10. I had tried a senko style bait wacky and Texas rig. Before I went to my curl tail slow dragging. I couldn't catch a cold with it then. I used the trick worm it is about 3rd level in my bag of techniques weightless and shaky head. But the wacky rig is my normal go to. A ned rig I can't get going where I was at. There is a lot of algae and grass. I want to thank everyone for sharing it sharpens up my methods for the next go round
  11. This time of the year right after all of the spawning we sometimes find a couple days where the fish are very sluggish to bite. My last 2 outings have started out this way. I went thru several different techniques to just get a bite. I found a little curl tail worm and the slow steady retrieve the Charlie Brewer method quickly ended getting skunked that day. So what would be your Skunk Buster?
  12. The Super Fluke and the Caffeine Shad have always produced for me.
  13. I have always wanted to go to Alaska and catch Salmon and all of those other big river fish. Maybe soon.
  14. Hoping you get better soon
  15. In South Carolina we have the Water moccasin, Cotton mouth, the Timber rattlesnake and a whole bunch of different black snakes. I personally have become firmly convinced the best way to deal with them is behind a shotgun. But there are some of our lakes have been declared protected habitat areas for reptiles and you can't kill them unless you are in immediate danger.
  16. Have you considered a boat trailer replacement winch assembly? It goes up and down and it has a manual lock mechanism.
  17. I would probably have 3 ready to fish with when I got there a jerkbait,a u-vibe speed craw Texas rigged, and a spinner bait.
  18. I just got to ask a question. The bait that got the painted blade I assume it was brand new. Sometimes when I purchase lures from the store I will buy 2 or 3 and only 1 will catch fish.could it be possible this might be the case here? Maybe put that blade on a bait that fish have been caught on before?
  19. If I look at what's empty on the shelves currently nearby I would say it would be a trick worm and the rage craw.
  20. 10lb Big Game 1st top water this Year
  21. rgasr63 replied to Mobasser's topic in Fishing Tackle
Zoom Trick Worm is my favorite choice
  22. 6lb 10oz on a Cotton Cordell Big O
  23. It sounds like they are on beds there. If that is the case it is lizard time a weightless lizard or a very small weight at the most should be the easiest way to get bit. You got to be a line watcher with the weightless lizard.
  24. Sorry to hear of your loss.
  25. The tail weighted Boy Howdy is one that I used long way back years ago that I found a couple in a mom and pop's last year. Caught a few with them just a blast from the past.
