  1. Balanced reel and rod combo is a important thing. If it is not balanced then the person has to use extra energy to hold the combo straight. It could take away from your being sensitive to the bite.
  2. This I think is more true at least for me. The line is the telegraph wire to the bait tied on.
  3. Mr AJay You need the lawyer and he will get you into the court loop. But you also have a federal congressman that can bring your case up faster if he will make an inquiry on your behalf.
  4. Well the fish can't tell one from the other. Pat Cullen has more than 1000 double digit bass catches he uses a ugly stick and a 5500 ambassador to catch his fish. In my own humble opinion a angler has to find a rod and reel that he is comfortable with.
  5. Congratulations!!
  6. I know that the Colorado/willow will have more drag than a double willow does because the Colorado blade is added to increase vibration. That the double willow will always have more flash and less vibration and would run deeper if the weighted side is the same on both.
  7. It was my understanding that a tandem had a little thump and more flash. It would run deeper and faster than the double Colorado. So if you dropped the size of the willow blade you just lost some flash. The double Colorado has the most vibration and drag in the water. So the willow blade and the tandem have less vibration and drag. That's just my 2 cents.
  8. I have three of them. I haven't caught anything like a big yet but I did get 3 1to1.5 lbers. You can't run them as fast as a regular square bill but at a moderate retrieve they get bit.
  9. You might like the Peanut Craft ball head jigs. They make them with different size hooks in the same weight size.
  10. I carry the trick worm all the time it's my go-to worm. 1. Black 2. White 3. Junebug 4. Green pumpkin 5. Red bug when the water is hot.
  11. I got a couple too.
  12. Well I guess we will find out I just ordered some of those Smh jig heads and worms should be here soon.
  13. How did you get away from the monkey all the year? Since I learned about that monkey if I don't feed him twice a month it won't leave me alone. Lol
  14. I believe that you are right about sales being flat due to the economy. But times have changed a lot in just 25 years. Before Pure Fishing there was a company called Shakespeare and Abu Garcia and Stren and etc. When you put them all in the same basket then they don't grow like they did before the merger. Then Pro fishing changed it's own image and it looks and seems like a sport for millionaires not for real people. Golf did the same thing.
  15. HAPPY NEW YEARS TO ALL!!
  16. I didn't throw top water walking baits hardly at all this year. I caught a lot with them last year.
  17. Just to freshwater fish here in SC is 30 bucks for residents for 3 yrs now. At age 65 you can purchase a licence for life really affordable I don't remember how much. Non resident is 35.00 annual and their is a 14 day for 11.00.
  18. What will happen with co- anglers? Now there is a need for 2 ffs on a boat sometimes?
  19. @gulfcaptain if I came off as disrespectful to the next generation then I haven't communicated properly. I apologize for that. My issue is it can make a rookie look like a seasoned professional. And I feel like it levels the playing field between a rookie and a pro. That is all I am trying to say.
  20. I don't resent the younger people coming up but I don't think they would be able to excel without being able to to find the fish with the lure instead of the electronics. Jacob Wheeler and the Lee brothers came up the ranks just like everyone else has. They have the skills to find fish and have developed into the electronics gurus also. But with such technology as is out there now I think that someone who can excel with just the electronics can win tourneys and not be able to catch a cold without them.
  21. Well "Jeffery" exists already. Who would have thunk it?
  22. Well if you are putting up the money to compete in tournaments today. F.F. sonar is necessary to compete in tournaments to get paid. No brainer there. However everybody who is competing today came up with their skills the old way and could compete without the new electronics. So let's look down the road. "Jeffery" is a young man that has learned to use the F.F.sonar very well because he is extremely comfortable with the electronics. He puts his money up and may have a good opportunity to win a major league tournament and he would not have a clue what to do if he doesn't have the electronics. So who is really the best angler then?
  23. I have a old handheld Garmin GPS from 2000-2010 era. That has waypoints. My vehicle has a waypoint where I parked it when I go somewhere new. The boat landing has a waypoint. And from Google Earth I can type in a location on a map and put a waypoint on it also. It saved me a night on a lake when my hummingbird went bad on me. Best money I ever spent .
  24. Merry Christmas
  25. Nice fish!!
