  1. Great stuff everyone. Lots of cool new gear.
  2. That’s terrible. You really hope people get what they deserve.
  3. I have 6 castings days 2 spinning. With a 7th casting on the way(very excited about this one). Walking the banks I usually bring anywhere from 1-3 rods. A spinnerbait setup almost always works, some type of plastics setup that always works. The third if I so chose is whatever tickles my fancy that day. Jig, Swimbait, crank of some kind maybe. It’s nice to have options and not re tie to much.
  4. Good ole 7” channel locks for me.
  5. This reel should be fantastic. Only 4 more months or so till I can use it.
  6. I also fish from the bank. I think I have 7 set ups. I have everything I do pretty much covered. But is my collection complete, I think not.
  7. I learned allot this year about accuracy or lack there off. last winter I came down with a wicked case of thyroid eye disease. Worst case of fun house mirror/ double vision you could imagine. after some Experimenting with tape and glasses I could drive/ work and go fishing again. I’m a carpenter ( can’t see can’t work). So I’m really happy I can still provide for my family. But boy did my fishing suffer lol. I’ve lost all depth perception like this, so casting with any type of accuracy is difficult to say the least. I’ve put so many brand new jigs and spinnerbaits into the bushes and trees without even getting wet, and I can’t get back-it’s not even funny. anyway I’ll have two good eyes back eventually, so I’m not trying to complain. so yeah, I think casting accuracy is important, and I’ll never take the ability to do so for granted again. Ok, my five minute rant to strangers is over. thanks for listening P.s. I’ve restocked jigs and spinnerbaits to give it a go again next season. One eye or two.
  8. I have the expert head turner (6’10” heavy mod fast their 6 power). This rod is great at any single hook moving bait with a head weight of 3/8. It’s not bad with a half as long as theirs little to no cover. It’s also great with a 3/8’s jig and trailer as long as the cover is pretty light. When the veggies grow in the mod fast action doesn’t snap your bait clean as well as you’d like. Very sensitive dragging that jig. I also have the eye crosser in the Cara line 6’11 heavy fast action. 1/2-1-1/2 their 7 power. This is the rod I would recommend for your situation. I’ve used this rod for 3/8’s -3/4 jig and trailer. And paddle tails up to a 6” mag draft freestyle on a 3/8’s beast hook. It handles all of that and more just fine. Super sensitive rod. Also does well with a 3/8’s and bigger jackhammer. It was made to be just like the amistad in a shorter package. No worries about heavy cover either. Fantastic rod. Also not a broomstick. I recommend calling falcon. They are great to talk to. So far their advice has been spot on for me.
  9. I’ll end kicking myself in the rear for not buying the expride/ currado mgl on Friday. I know I’m gonna end up buying it before next season.
  10. This was a good read guys, thanks for the info.
  11. Look into the bps carbonlite 2,0. The mh is 1/4-1 ounce. For two years it was my only casting rod. Plenty sensitive for bottom contact baits. And just soft enough for some treble hooks. It handled every kind of bait in its weight range decent enough. As another plus it’s tough as nails for beating the bank. 10 year warranty, just bring it in and get a new one. I have three of them. I don’t think you’ll sacrifice much in any direction with this rod. When I want to bring just one rod, allot of times it’s one of them cause they let you do allot.
  12. Great start, I like where this could be going.
  13. I would go just because.
  14. SIeberts order just came in. Fully stocked for next season.
  15. There’s no wasted $ on baits. Just fine tuning the selection of baits that work for your waters. It’s the natural progression of a fisherman’s life. And yes I have a bunch of sweet looking baits that I’ll probably not use but couldn’t walk past them in the store.
  16. Congrats, sounds like you two had a great day. Love me a good spinnerbait bite.
  17. That was a great seminar
