  1. I find shimano breaks to be a set and forget type of thing. When I get them I put half on half off and never touch them again.
  2. If it’s in good working order I’d buy it. Then send it out to be cleaned.
  3. I bet that rod can chuck that bait a mile.
  4. I think it will do just fine.
  5. If you like a little bit of a shorter rod on your kayak. I throw it on the Cara eye crosser. 6’11”Rated to 1.5 but handles it just fine. Also does everything I’ve tried with really well.
  6. I’ve found that free time in any way shape or form is expensive period.

That’s awesome. I wish I had something like that around me. I would happily pay a bit more for my soft plastics and hard baits to support a good local shop. Unfortunately it would take more then my $20 a week to keep the lights on. I really hope he does well.
  8. That’s awesome
  9. I use 30# on most of my casting reels. After my first season never have problems. Also have way less trouble with braid on spinning reels. Then I did mono.

I didn’t realize they stopped. I bought a whole family of them a few years ago.

Try the spro rat. They come in three sizes. Get the biggest one you can throw on your gear. Lots of fun.
  12. That’s gotta be pretty tough to beat.
  13. Not enough for me either. Water was low to start. Then it just got worse. It was hot also. 1 or 2 one to two hour trips a week. I would have tried to put more time in if the fishing was better. It was just rough all season.
  14. What I’ve found is once you up your regular budget to try something new. That will become your new regular budget. There’s no going back. Trust me
  15. Yeah, all of them do more then one thing.
  16. I put 20 on mine. If I’m not mistaken that’s a 6 pound mono diameter. I only used it twice, for a couple fish. But no trouble. I also believe the reel was made to hold 40/45 yards of 8 pound mono or flouro I don’t remember. That’s closer to 30 pound braid. You might have more 15 on there then you think.
  17. It’s basically a Swiss Army knife for anything that’s not great on your medium heavy. I have a couple 6’6” -6’10 medium ish rods. There great.
  18. That thing is sweet. That’s a bit steep $ for a spinnerbait. But I’d try it.
  19. Cool, glad it all came to get her for you. I’d probably find myself in trouble if I lived that close. I’d be there wiggling rods every rainy Saturday
  20. I don’t frog with it. If I remember correctly the falcon website says it was designed to be a shorter frog and jig rod. If you wanted a shorter frog rod I imagine it would be good. It does a lot of things we’ll. You can count grains of sand while dragging a jig in shallow water. It’s super sensitive. It’s done everything I’ve tried within its weight range.
  21. I agree 100% with this post. Pretty spot on description of the rod.
