how involved or simple is a fishing float tube?
43 pounds? Add food, tackle, whatever else. Ain't getting far. I wouldn't anyways! Not saying this is a good one but just showing you can get one much lighter. This one is 12 pounds, just a random google search. https://www.amazon.com/Xspec-Inflatable-Fishing-Adjustable-Storage/dp/B09CV8CLXQ/ref=asc_df_B09CV8CLXQ/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=532845793812&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14233557569825026575&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032191&hvtargid=pla-1415030929365&psc=1

Catching a Marlin on a Kayak
Crazy! Cool video! That was awesome.

Favorite lures for June
In June I consult my Magic 8-Ball. In July I throw dice. First half of August is top secret. Second half I throw jigs and T-rigs and an occasional apple fritter or popper. September 1 - 5 is crankbaits, unless the 5th falls on a Saturday in which case I will throw a Beetle Spin, but I don't fish Saturdays in September so it's a moot point. The rest of September my neighbor's dog selects the baits (and I've paid for the poor pup's stitches a few times*). That dog has a high success rate (Sorry Skippy). Sometimes I bring a fish home for Skippy so it's all good. * Don't worry I like dogs more than most people and I'd never hurt one. The rest is all true.

It's nice to have shopping options now.
I'm having delivery issues in many areas. Amazon has suddenly been "running late" with many packages the past several months and have lost some. Walmart lost my A/C. Glad they did. Ya everything is "in stock" until you buy it.

Fishing Neighborhood Ponds?
I would assume that someone owns that property, therefore you will be trespassing. Whether or not the owner cares is something I would find out first.

Working to Stay Lean ~
I started hiking pretty strenuously a few months ago to get into shape. I'm 54, 190, 5'11" with shoes. I plan on doing overnight solo backpack trips where I can fish, and I have my first one planned (not the date). I write this to say that 3 people inspired me to do this. Jim Lowe - guy with a Youtube channel who hikes the Sierra wilderness and Yosemite areas and sees and fishes some of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. He goes multi-days and makes some good vids. He's an expert. The Hiking Rev - Youtube. Guy hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (2600+ miles) at 67 years old and recorded it. Gorgeous, like breathtaking, emotional. I want to see some of that. The first guy above made me long to do it, this "Rev" guy showed me that I could do it. The next guy in the list showed me that I could do it and had to do it! A-Jay - the first time I saw this thread I almost fell out of my chair. I almost did just now too! Dude you are the man. You seem like the kind of person who goes for it, follows through and does things right. Your fishing too I mean, the photos, the vids. I notice this because I'm not like that very much. By had to do it, I mean I'm tired of periodic back pain, I'm sick of feeling tired all the time, people my age are dying around me of heart attacks...and here's a guy older than I am (a little!) kicking butt! I can at least do some of that!? I figured I'd take charge. I'm doing my best. I am pushing myself when I hike. I want to do better every time, and I do. I hike local trails with weight in my pack. I'm almost ready for my first solo overnighter. Hiking and fishing. I appreciate what you are doing and the hard work it takes, especially now that I'm doing something. I have to make myself do this on some days. It is an effort, but it's thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you for showing us what you're doing here. I don't know if you're trying to inspire people but you are.

Any bird experts here ?
I'm no expert but I think that bird is dead. Could be resting I suppose.

I'm going to work some exercise into my fishing.
You hiked? Cool! Looks a lot steeper in the photo 45 degrees is steep. Dude the legs and the cardio....I made progress by my 2nd hike, but dang they do feel it! Then I did another longer and higher hike twice in a row, diff days, and the difference was unbelievable. I recorded both and I was breathing way harder the first time. Seems like I notice progress every time I go. I end up doing maybe 700 feet elevation change (elevation change counts all uphills, not just base to peak). Legs are like rocks already especially calves, my little gut is still there. Cardio is improving for sure, almost immediately. I bring plenty of water and some food. I love it. Right on bro!

I'm going to work some exercise into my fishing.
That's exactly what I've been doing. Hiking. I have some ponds and lakes I am going to backpack to and camp. I've been doing 3 - 6 miles at a time for practice, 500 - 700 foot elevation changes. There are no negatives to hiking that I can find. The nature, the exercise, the views when you get to the top, and the feeling that I'm getting stronger every time. And it's an accomplishment. Feels great.

Plastic boats
Maybe you could screw a few kayak handles into it (properly).

Fishing JetSki?
What are the advantages of one over a kayak? I can only think of one but I hate these things so I'm biased. Anyone can add to the list. Advantages: 1. Speed Disadvantages: Everything else. Heavy, expensive to buy, no hands-free operation at all, tougher than storing a yak, needs a trailer, need to register it, needs maintenance and maybe repairs, loud, needs gas and oil, not good in shallow water (gets stuck and sucks up debris), pollutes the water, ..... May as well get a nice jon boat and have 10k or more left over..

Boat and Tow Vehicle
No way, mini-vans rule! I loved my Tacoma truck but the Sienna mini-van kicks its butt for me. Safe interior storage for my rods etc is a gigantic bonus, and they actually fit lengthwise, unlike my truck. I took out all the rear seats which frees up the entire cargo area. Folding down seats in an SUV gives up a lot of headroom. My seats pop right out in seconds. Good mileage, more space than all but full sized SUVs (even then I'm not sure, especially vertical space) and I can slide my DIY bed setup in there and camp with it. If I really have to I can get a sheet of plywood in there. Better ride too (than a truck). It has sliding doors on both sides for easy access, plus the back door. And it has way more cargo space than a smaller SUV, maybe any SUV. And my kayak sits on the roof. Added bonus...cops ignore me. If I put a Baby On Board sticker in my window I could smuggle drugs and never get caught When my truck died I was looking for another truck at first, then an SUV, then I discovered mini-vans. Most practical vehicle I've ever owned, especially for the price! Okay I'm done PS: I easily did 110 mph in it once and could have gone higher if I had the space and trusted the tires that were on it when I bought it. To stay on topic - no I would not tow a bass boat with it.

Your Top Ten Soft Plastics
YUM Dinger Zoom Speed Craw Zoom Super Fluke a smaller finesse worm I don't see how one can have 10 favorites LOL, I don't catch enough fish for that. I've maybe used 10 different plastics in the last two years.

Does Cutting the Cord Increase Fishing Addiction?
It will increase the amount of available time you have to fish! How long is a game, 3 hours depending on the sport? Almost one third of that time is commercials (televisions' sole reason for existence). I was a big hockey fan but stopped watching after the 2nd or 3rd lockout, walkout, strike, whatever. Used to go to games too. After that I completely lost interest. What do I care if they win or lose? Last time my home team went to the Super Bowl (9ers) I went fishing. Had the lake to myself. I have zero interest in sports like that anymore.

No Scale Today
That's awesome! I have a mechanical scale too, always works! Nice fish!!!

11.25 hours on Clearlake CA today.
You're on! I would like to. Flippin' back spasm today while I was.....here it comes.... brushing my teeth. Ya! I've been hiking and working on strengthening and maybe I strained it. Went to emergency....kinda got better on the way there a little. I knew it was coming though, or something. I was pushing too hard maybe. Felt a couple of warning signs recently. I coughed and bang...he's down! But ya, I would love to fish Clear Lake, I never have, but anywhere is fine with me. Delta whateevr. I'm in San Jose but I will drive anywhere. I think you're up North Bay. My kayak is lonely. 100% serious, I need to fish.

Got my biggest bass ever! Can you tell me how much he weights?
Get a cheap scale. You'll catch a bigger one soon. I always have a scale with me.

11.25 hours on Clearlake CA today.
I'd willingly break any one of my rods for a 30 fish day right now. Most expensive is only $100 though. Heck, take the Fuego CT with it too.

No Scale Today
Not gonna guess. I bought my Strike King digital floating scale for $10. I test it all the time weighing stuff around the house for backpacking etc, and it's within an ounce every time, usually right on. When I watch my old videos I comment back out loud the correct weight sometimes: Video: "That's gotta be oh....3.5 pounds" me watching later "3 or so" Video: "Cool it's a pound and a half" me later : "3/4 tops dum dum, geez who is this guy?"

Buying a Used Boat from Owner
That covers it. All I can say is once you have the boat in hand and title signed over it is yours. Not sure what you're asking. If you're worried about getting ripped off bring a friend. I always pay cash. The money is the sellers problem once the boat is signed over. Get a simple handwritten receipt and you're done. If he signed it then he got paid. Some people like to change the price for lower tax payments but that is probably illegal so I won't mention it here. Disclaimer: I've only bought and sold cars.

What a pain in the gas
That is awesome and hilarious, I'd love to see that setup somewhere. I'm going to plan my hiking camping trips around the weather, as best as possible. I could try carrying a 5,000 BTU and a whole stack of those portable solar panels. it's only 4 miles to one lake "Screw the backpack, I got me a motorized pallet jack from Harbor Freight!"

Anybody Ever Get Caught Without Their License?
He may have seen you fishing from a distance. They have been known to use binoculars to catch people. You don't need a license to carry a rod and reel anywhere. Never heard of it anyways.
