Any T-Mobile Users In Our Community?
I ditched Verizon a few months ago and went with one of the cheap services, called "Ting". My plan is $25/month (5 gigs of data, unlimited talk and text) but you can go as low as $10 (with option to add data). I can use my old Samsung phone too. Had to buy a new SIM card for $1. Ting is fine for the phone calls and text and I haven't had a single issue. They use various networks like Verizon and I think T-Mobile, and you get great phone coverage because of it. The downside is if you rely on data. If there's a lot of data traffic the actual Verizon customers get the faster speeds, yours will be slower. I don't surf the web on my phone so I couldn't care less. So far I'm happy with it. Very happy to ditch that $75/month Verizon bill, especially these days. I can always go back but I don't see why I would.

Watch till the end WOW
Lucky the boat didn't run them over as it circled, that's what I though was gonna happen. You can see them bobbing in the water during one pass. The passenger (his father) didn't look uncomfortable about the speed at all, in fact he's the one who taught him to drive according to the second video. Dad's don't need to hold back. If son is being stupid Dad is usually first to say so...well at least my Dad would have, you better believe it lol

Is it a skunk if you hook but lose them?
For me a skunk is no fish in hand, period. I wanna bend the rules for a few, but nope. Today I bank fished and skunked, but there was no argument there. Didn't see a fish all afternoon. Didn't even find a lure! Hooked a big ol' branch and dragged it to shore. At least my knots are improving.

5 star fishing backpacks?
Okay I guess I got lucky. Mines thick canvas material. I throw it all over the place. Think I ordered it online from them though.

How Rotomolded Kayaks Are Made
Edited post: Looks like the post above mine was removed so what I said here makes no sense anymore, so I will just type something else here instead. I'd heard of rotomolding and imagined what it might be, sort of. I had no idea it was that involved, like spinning a huge oven around. Thought some here might find it interesting. Went bank fishing today, crawled all over the place, saw no fish. It's time to drag out my kayak!

How Rotomolded Kayaks Are Made
I always wondered. Very cool and short video. I found other vids but this one explains it and was the best I found. It's not a fishing kayak. At the end they say "this company" makes 12 different models. One of them says Old Town, so.....

my Career is now putting me in the California Delta!!
There are some sketchy areas for bank fishing. I know of some near Stockton, but when I'm on the water and not the banks then I don't notice or care about people on shore. The Delta is gigantic, there's something for everyone. It can be great one day, skunk the next. One of the top bass fisheries in the country....I believe it was in the top 10 a few years ago. Not sure if was BASS or what that decided that. It's going to be in my top 3 places to kayak this season.

Does anyone own a Twin Troller?
$5,000 for a base model? Even with 2 motors, no way. I'd get a bass Raider or something for 1/5 the price and load it up with a foot controlled trolling motor, heck even two, plus whatever I wanted for way less. But I'm cheap like that.

Specific Questions about Catch 120
It would be easy to car-top alone. My method with my 87(?) pounder: Lay yak next to van. Lift front end and lean it up on the van/roof perpendicular to van. Pick up rear and slide kayak on roof racks. Turn it facing forward once you've got it up there. You never have to lift the whole yak this way. Ideally you'd demo the kayak you want, but where I live you can't. I would try any fishing kayak first if you've never used one. See if you think you'll like it at all. I don't know anything about that kayak so can't comment.

Blue Sky Boat Works Angler 360
I agree. 170 pounds and a rig that size needs a motor and definitely a trailer. I'd like to try one before I say it's too heavy to pedal I guess, but dang. However...looks like you can fit rods in those pontoons. That's a ton of storage space. I sometimes have a knee-jerk reaction to find the negatives in something new though. Storage looks insane. Seat height as well. I wouldn't mind trying one out, you can definitely fish from it. Plenty of deck space. Wheels for 170 pound kayak, I think I'd just take em off. I'm not pulling that thing up a boat ramp. Can't justify the price though. I could buy two of my kayaks and strap em together and have $$$ left over for a motor and battery. Interesting.

If it floats it can be a fishing boat
Why is my kayak 10.5 feet then? I got ripped off!

Ozark Trail Spinnerbaits
Mine had rubberbands. It was a 5-pack of spinners, full size. Maybe they are different than others here are talking about. Was maybe $8 for five of them. I don't think they were Ozark brand though now that I think about it. Bought them at Walmart super cheap though. Looked like the bands they use for braces/teeth. Most broke before ever using them. They sat for awhile though. maybe a year or more. If they come with rubberbands (any bait) swap 'em out. It's not the same as the bait in the OP photo, I've never seen those.

Anyone get an e-mail offering free sunglasses from KastKing?
Absolutely correct. A company contacted me to do Amazon reviews for free fishing products. Except they PayPal-ed me the money first, then I'd buy it with that. Worked great until I left a 2 star review for them. They say "Please before leaving bad review contact us and tell us the problem" "#@%^ no!!! That is not how it works!" That was the end of that. Company name is PLUSINNO. but don't be mad at just them...so many companies do this. I still use the rod stand in my house. The line spooler/winder was garbage.

Using snap swivels for convenience
You have more rods than I have baits! I wouldn't need to retie! I use snaps for cranks but I am slowly moving away from them as my knot tying has suddenly improved in the past year (been bass fishing for 4). I'll probably still use them a bit. Sometimes getting a crank hooked up to a snap takes longer than tying (trying to get the danged thing into the split ring that won't cooperate).

My California SLUMP continues. Haha.
I played golf years ago. I was okay at it but I find it infinitely more frustrating than fishing, and less relaxing. If you aren't catching at a golf course pond you can still have some fun. It's called an air horn. Whispering commentator: "On the 3rd tee Thad Doofus is setting up with his driver. He's very relaxed, nice waggle, here comes the backswing and...." BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMPPP!!!!!!!! "....ooh what a nasty slice! It's headed for the parking lot....wait, what's this? Thad is running toward some guy near the water hazard! Is that a 6 iron in his hand?" "Jim, I believe that is a five iron...." Not my idea, saw some punks do this on Youtube a few years ago. I have to admit I laughed watching it for a little bit. TL;DR Don't sell your gear!

Catching a record-breaking fish out of season
If Man wasn't so good at destroying everything we wouldn't need these rules, whether it be crab, salmon, trout, clean air...each other. Where I live the rules are taken seriously and I'm glad they are. I'd like to see much more enforcement. I've been checked for barbless hooks and artificial bait where applicable, as well as my fishing license. I'd like to see people breaking these laws ticketed and repeat offenders banned from fishing. They are often the ones leaving the litter as well. There are too many jerks not to have rules, unfortunately.

Contemplating a kayak
5' 10.5", and 190 pounds of solid muscle that would make A-Jay jealous. Okay well the measurement and weight are accurate anyways! One thing I notice is that I have to slide the seat pretty far forward for me. Kinda feel line if my weight were further back I'd push less water, but maybe not. Very tall people should be fine as far as that goes. One day I compared photos of the 106 and the 120 and I can't remember where most of the length difference lies. It's only 1.5 feet. Assembled boat weight (including pedal drive): PDL 106 = 107 pounds PDL 120 = 116 pounds Edit: I had temporary buyers remorse, or more like unsure. I wondered if I should have got the 120. But mine tracks great, is a little lighter and easier to store. The 120 is a few tenths of a mph faster, maybe. I'm glad I have the shorter one. Look up "stability test" videos on Youtube. There is a guy trying to tip one of these and he has a hard time doing it, though eventually does. He rocks it back and forth like a madman, leaning over the side, and took him a lot of effort to finally do it. Not a big guy, but neither am I and I'm not actively trying to tip it. Unless I hit some freak waves I don't see it happening to me. Different guy but here is one (the motor drive with the motor removed). He walks all over the thing too. This video makes me even more happy that I own this yak.

I'd rate that a ten just for the guitar alone! ^^

Garmin Echomap with LakeVu and small lakes?
32 gigs seems like plenty for contour mapping. Does anyone know how much storage a map takes? I have an Echmap too, just curious as I rarely use it.

Garmin Echomap 73 CV - Transducer Switch Trick - Well? ...
It's possible that I have no idea what I'm talking about but what about throw it in reverse and use the single transducer instead?

Kayak Carry Question
When I did that in my mini-van once I secured the hatchback door so it couldn't slam up and down hitting my kayak and maybe ruining the door. I think I used bungees to give it some play. My "door is ajar" warning dinged for about ten minutes as I drove but it eventually THANKFULLY stopped!!! I cranked up my stereo the first ten miles. Finally, modern cars are so efficient that people are complaining about not being able to do themselves in using the old "car exhaust with a hose in the window" trick Okay maybe not, but you should be fine as you described.

5 star fishing backpacks?
This ^^ I use a book backpack from Walmart for $13. It is dang tough, I can fit 2 - 3 3600s, not sure about 3700s. It has a divider for a laptop computer to slide into which is nice.. I carry my GoPro equipment, water, bags of plastics, scale, sunscreen etc. Room to spare. It is not bulky. The ones that hold the Planos flat would not work for me. They seem cool, but I like to hike through wooded areas and a fat pack would get in the way. I don't want it to stick that far out behind me, and I like all the weight closer to my back...less strain. I bring way more baits than I ever need in that. I'm lucky if I swap baits three times in a day bank fishing. I have cranks, jigs, jerks, Beetle Spins....and I MAY use ONE of them. usually I'm just swapping plastics. I lighten my pack all the time.

Ozark Trail Spinnerbaits
Yep. I've bought inline spinners from Walmart / Ozark and they do not work well at low speeds. I bought a 5-Pack of spinners there once. Replace the rubberband with wire, it won't last.
