Kayak Suggestions
Another vote for Sportsman...mine is a 106 PDL. Great seat and you can stand in it all day. I'm 5'11, 190 lbs. Great warranty and best price for an "upper tier" kayak. $999 with no pedal drive, $1999 with.

Best Selling Soft Plastic
I think Senko brand is expensive enough to push away a lot of your average anglers. I would guess it is a Senko style bait, maybe YUM Dinger. Here are Amazon's top selling baits, for whatever that is worth (not much maybe). I couldn't find anything else in my 90 seconds of searching . https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Fishing-Soft-Plastic-Lures/zgbs/sporting-goods/3409651

How long to you stick with a lure / technique before switching?
Me too and my instincts seem to suck. I think my problem (when bank fishing) is finding the fish, not the correct lure.

We don't want MORE FISHERMAN
And if too many people fish we will lose the resources to them instead. It's a fine balance between good fishing and capitalism, er I mean saving the resource.

Ike biography
I though I was the only one who was irritated by Zona's voice. He reminds me of Jesse Ventura when he talks, like every single word needs to be emphasized and is so incredible. I've only seen him hosting bass tournaments in the past though.

Honesty gets you nowhere...
You can get things printed at places like Office Depot, UPS Store and probably FedEx as well. I stopped buying printer ink and just do that. I rarely need to print anything anyways. I've returned stuff to stores, stuff I bought by mistake or didn't like. They don't complain when I do that so I expect them to make a mistake now and then. They even give me my money back. I think the law that says you are allowed to keep mistaken deliveries is kind of messed up. What if you designed a custom rod for someone and the wrong person got it? Oh well, you have to make a new one now, and eat the cost! Great law for large corporations but not for the small business owner. In my mind it is theft and I would never do it. Edit: I don't believe in Karma, I think it is a person's conscience. If a person (who isn't a sociopath) does something bad, say kicks a puppy, there is no magic force that will make something bad happen to them later. It is their own conscience that does that. If you kick a puppy you may feel bad about it later. You may be troubled enough that you become distracted and step in front of a car. The person with no conscience will always look for the car because they are only thinking about themselves at all times. This is why it seems like evil people never get in trouble - it's because they don't give a dang. Most people do care and it affects us. Just my own personal thought on karma. It's good that you returned the rod. It says a lot about your character.

Almaden Lake Park in San Jose, CA
There are some huge carp in Almaden, saw one a few weeks ago from the bridge. I go there sometimes and I've never had a bite. Had a follower on a chatterbait once. Friend catches a small bass sometimes. The lakes are pretty full though at least. Uvas and some others. Fishing in the south bay is difficult, and some of the best lakes take a little effort to get to. Anyone wants to know a good one private message me. Tired of garbage all over shore so I'm not advertising publicly.

Ascend kayaks???
That Ascend costs about the same as a Sportsman 120 and weighs over 40 pounds more. Doesn't come pre-wired but wow that is really heavy. My answer to this thread title is no.

BaitFuel
The video shows guys with white lab coats. It's revolutionary and it supercharges. This means it will work. The video was interesting. At least they're offering some scientific explanation behind their product, unlike most others. Like any product, I would take the pro's opinions with a grain of salt. They are likely paid and also, what can they tell us that any other fisherman can't? "I'm a pro so I can tell if fish like attractant better than other people!" I'm a born skeptic.

The Best Way To Carry Tackle For Bank Fisherman In My Opinion
I just dumped out my backpack to see. To start, a very tough canvas book bag from Walmart - $11. I need nothing bigger. In a smaller pocket: - bags of plastics, some loose ones and a mixed bag. Main area I keep: - 3600 Plano (sometimes 2) with mixed baits depending on the trip. - terminal tackle, double-sided (I found this had opened in my pack, not good). - water (I may bring a new water filter too now) - old sandwich I found (peanut butter I think, awaiting forensics report) - a few napkins - sunscreen (super old barely any in there) - scale - multitool (this one sucks, too hard to open) - pepper spray maybe (just bought) - first aid kit - small black bag with GoPro stuff. Sometimes I keep a Cliff bar or similar in the pack. And sometimes my telescopic combo goes in the bag.

Glass beads. Red glass beads.
Isn't the sound of the glass hitting the weight the reason for using glass beads? Plastic is quieter?

What was your PB caught on?
Moral of the story - you can catch decent sized bass on anything. My biggest fish were caught on a crank, a fluke, another crank, and a YUM Dinger. 4.25 - 5.25 lbs.

Tackle Warehouse Data Leaks Email I got Today
This is at least the third TW scam thread. We already went through all of this a few months ago. Here's a preview of the next two pages: Credit card, debit card, both are the same, no they aren't, yes they are....don't use one, go ahead and use one, I never had a problem with the store, me either, I did, ya me too, good night Irene.

Trolling motor advice
Lithium batteries are dropping in price. I don't think I'd consider lead acid for a trolling motor anymore.

Specific Questions about Catch 120
Finding my kayak was tough too. I started at Old Town's website. They list their authorized dealers and you can see them all on a map. So I started checking inventory starting with the stores closest to me. I got about 160 miles away from me when I found Kayak City. I only had to wait a week or so. Other stores were several months out. When I went there the owner told me that delivery is so expensive now that they had to order a whole truckload to make it worthwhile. He says many stores can't do that. That was maybe 9 - 10 months ago. Who knows now. Maybe you should make a top 3 list of kayaks in case a different model turns up.

Happy Easter
It was a great Easter, I went fishing!

FedEX gives me heartburn.
Update to this post: The seller said FedEx picked up the A/C. FedEx said they'd never heard of it. So I got a refund and got a darned nice used one for 1/5 the price. I can handle a $50 gamble. It's not like newer A/Cs are going to last long anyways.

Anyone ever skip a spinnerbait?
I don't envision many circumstances where skipping a spinner or such bait would be desirable. Skipped a chatterbait once. Didn't need to, just goofing around.

Store brand lures that work better
Blame California and prop 65 for the shipping to Cali issue. Complying can be expensive if you need to re-label all of your merchandise, which is probably the issue. I've had to do it at the place I work and it sucks. Prop 65 is a terribly written piece of legislation, everybody knows it, but nobody wants to bother to fix it apparently.

The Lone Fisherman
I think fishing with someone on a bass boat would be cool (never done it) but bank fishing is different. I bring a friend sometimes and we split and go our separate ways at some point, whether it's creek or lake. Pretty much fishing alone anyways. As far as photos, I caught my first PB (5+ pounds) at a pond and nobody was there to see it! I did have the GoPro on though, so actually everyone DID get to see it (cast, catch and release). I was so excited I called my friend freaking out. After that I got better with the cameras and handling everything solo. You can get a mount for your phone and stick it somewhere on the boat. An old phone with a decent camera would be nice so you still have your main phone handy.

Specific Questions about Catch 120
Here are some "stability test" videos plus other videos about the Catch 120. When I bought my yak I watched all the videos I could find for it. Stability is so-so compared to the heavier yaks. I can't flip my yak nearly as easy (probably not at all) as the guy in the first video, but it's a lot heavier (slightly more expensive without pedal drive). That's the tradeoff. https://www.google.com/search?q=catch+120+stability+test&client=firefox-b-1-d&source=lnms&tbm=vid&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjmtZiQuaP3AhVTIjQIHUWLDD8Q_AUoAXoECAEQAw&biw=1286&bih=675&dpr=1.36 The Catch might be similar to my old Ride 115 in stability and I didn't like standing in that. I'm 5'11, 190 lbs, 54 years. My new PDL 106 is in a different league as far as stability goes. That yak without the pedal drive is $999. 400 lb capacity should be fine if you are 270 with that much gear. Any kayak mfg who doesn't realize that many of us are not in perfect physical shape is making a big mistake. Your average American is not petite If standing and stability is a big issue then I would try my best to demo a kayak or similar one. If I could have tried my old Ride 115 before I bought it I probably would have passed on it. Even when sitting it was shaky to me. The new one is like being on a houseboat as far as stability goes..

What weather service do you use?
Many if not most of these services get much of their weather data from the National Weather Service. For the Delta I'm mostly concerned about wind.

Multi Tool Wire Cutter?
I'm ordering one. Never been stuck bad but I've heard of people pushing the hook through to get it out. In that case I'd like to be able to cut the eye off. Throw em in the box with my extra prop, shear pins and other tools what the heck. And ya you're a sitting duck in a kayak. I had a frog fly by right in front of my chest at mach 80 . Those hooks could have gone all the way through. Could probably use some cutters anyways.

What's your pedal kayak cruising speed?
I'd imagine it's the same or even worse than a car on land, where when you double your speed the "air force" against you quadruples (inverse square and all that junk)

Speaking of kayak PFD's...
I thought I read that some of the high-back vests don't keep your face out of the water, or maybe it's that they are worse at it than other designs, say if you're unconscious. I think Type I is the best for that but I don't know anymore. Concerned because a big reason I wear a PFD is in case I hit my head when I fall in. Maybe it's a small concern.
