Need Advice For Catching Stripers Rigging Advice
I can't remember. Circle hooks no clue. Worm maybe 2/0 3/0? Not big. Big enough to basically make a jig out of an anchovy...stick hook through eye, pull all the way through (with line), then stick it in it's side in such a way that the hook will pop out of it's back. Like a jig. A dead anchovy skirtless jig Wrap it with a little thread stuff to hold it on. Thread works great. Holds it on there pretty good. I casted out a mangled bait a few times after a strike and got a fish. Thread held it on. And I MISS fishing stripers! "Oh it's a 10 pounder finally I did it I....oh it's...small! huh?" Powerful little suckers!

Need Advice For Catching Stripers Rigging Advice
I bank fished for stripers a lot a few years ago, but it's up north at the Delta. San Joaquin River actually. I used Carolina rig with frozen anchovies with both circle and worm hooks. I used Magic Thread or whatever to tie the bait to the hook. I never got a bite with a lure. Everyone on Youtube does but not me I did not try lures a whole lot, but I tried lipless, spooks and jerkbaits, which were suggested to me. Ya lipless were fun from shore Most of my good days were in early spring or in fall. Summer was rough.

Tackle warehouse
Me too. I was pretty surprised when they said my fish finder would be here in 3 days, and it was.

Garmin Striker 4 Plus -VS- Striker 4CV
I received it today and hooked it up to my truck battery for ten minutes and played with it. The screen is plenty big. Just used it in demo mode. I believe having this 'ducer out of water will fry it so I didn't hook it up. Checked out the Delta map, pretty dang cool man! Love the GPS. Any suggestions on the best way to mount this on a kayak rail? Not sure where else I'd put it. Can this be attached to a ram or ball mount? I have a WS Ride 115 and the center "console" is pretty far away near my feet. This thing seems amazing for the price. The screen size upgrade alone is worth the price diff of the Striker 4s.

Garmin Striker 4 Plus -VS- Striker 4CV
I love magic! So is the GT20 the one with true down view? It seems like it isn't from reading the website, but I may not be understanding what I read 100% Ya I wanted to wait until I could actually use it before buying a unit, but this sale came along so I bit. It will force me to go now! I'll hit the Delta, it's probably the closest available water. Gonna stick it on my yak, maybe on a small boat in the near future. So glad I'm getting a bigger screen than I'd planned! ETA: Now after comparing with other transducers I think the GT20 does have ClearVu with true down scanning. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Either way I'm going to keep it

Summer square Bill?
Caught the majority of my fish last summer on a squarebill, both along shorelines and open water, from bank and kayak. I love 'em and they love me back.

From what I understand the one I bought sorta fakes the ClearVu. I'm happy to trade CV for the 6.2 inch screen. That extra 2 inches will hopefully eliminate the need to wear reading glasses to see it. The ability to have and get maps is cool. Of course my lake isn't on there but I can hopefully download one (sounds like there are options online, user made stuff...), and I can map the waters I fish if not. It's supposed to arrive on the 23rd, three days after I ordered it. Ordered just before midnight on the 20th. I was on my second beer (Torpedo) so the Bait Monkey had an easy target. I think he made a good choice though. Thanks everyone for the help!

I have not bought one yet, I'll check it out. Thank you! The Bait Monkey thanks you for suggesting that I may need to spend more money! Edit to add: The Bait Monkey approved and we just bought it! Supposed to arrive in a few days. THANK YOU for letting me know!!! Bigger screen was enough for me, but I like the other features too. Much more versatile than the smaller units. I love getting $#!% in the mail, it's like X-mas, wooohooo!!!

$50 to spend...coming to fresh from saltwater
$5 each for BPS bargain bin cranks seems like a lot. Most are $3.99 normal price - just took a quick look online. Are you in the US? I bought bargain bin BPS/XPS deep divers for less than $3 each and they're pretty big. I like Zoom Super Flukes. They are cheap and they work. White Pearl is my go to color. Buy weights either online at - I forget the site - or at Walmart. BPS will charge you 3 - 4 times the price.

Gross Fishy Hands
My sammiches are in baggies so I don't have to touch them. However, right now the fishing is so bad I wouldn't care. I'd give the dang fish a full on French kiss if I could just catch one. After a moments thought, ya I'd take that trade. I need a fish!!!

Fishing tools?
Finally someone mentions this! I have enough for one or two uses wrapped around a dowel. Never used it. Don't forget to pack it out with you when you're done! Headlamp flashlight can be useful. My friend used to carry TP in his golf bag. And to answer your next question - yes he did, right between the 7th fairway and the road.

Gross Fishy Hands
My hands smell nastiest when handling bait, especially anchovies. Not so bad when fishing for black bass. But ya, quick rinse in the water if needed, and if I remember that I have a towel I will use that. If I just lipped it then probably not. I don't catch enough fish here to have a real routine Speaking of gloves ^^, it is normal to find blue rubber gloves scattered along the banks of the delta, sometimes 30 - 40 in one spot. I can't even fathom leaving such a mess behind. Imagine if a virus like Covid came along that only killed selfish idiots. Maybe one day...

Fun Fishing GIF
My brother sent me a photo of him in a golf cart on a course in Arizona. So apparently that state allows it. Probably because Arizona has a lot of golf courses and big money can get favors from politicians. Call me cynical but it's all about the money.

Our throw away society
PCs are basically the same as Mac as far as internal hardware goes. The aluminum case may protect a Mac from a fall but there is nothing revolutionary or much different about the components inside. CPUs, memory, disk drives, nothing special. Just a much bigger markup. My older PC is at least 10 years old and still works. My newer one is maybe 6 years old and still fast as heck. Built them myself. One of them runs OSX (Hackintosh) too.

Tiger King (Netflix)
All I needed to see was one of the promo photos to know I will never ever watch this. I'm just not interested in other people enough to care. Watching stupid people do stupid things is at the bottom of the heap for entertainment. "Look! I'm zany!" I hear Honey Boo Boos Mom (or whatever) has a new show too! Joy. The fact that it is the most streamed show right now shows me that I made the right choice.

Has Anyone else not caught their first 2020 bass yet?
Miserable failure. Bad prediction, I guess I'm no Carmac. Guy at work gave me a good tip yesterday, going there this weekend. Prediction: I'll get some exercise!
