  1. Check your floatation foam to make sure it is dry. The older hulls used a type of foam that will soak up water. I used marine plywood painted with thinned resin. Probably over kill, but I didn't want to have to deal with it again. I also used thinned resin along the edges to smooth over the seams. Once you have carpet back on it, it should look fine.
  2. Nice everglades bass on a beautiful Florida day..nothing better.
  3. You did great Shane. You should have your own regular gig, and have that obnoxious, but funny guy as a guest on your show...
  4. Good luck to both of you.
  5. There is a 1/2 acre retention pond located next to a Target off of university drive in Coral Springs that is loaded with bass, huge cichlids and bream. Some bass up to 5-7 lbs. Beds everywhere. There is a fence around it, so I guess they do not want anyone fishing there. The bass actually come close to you looking for food (bread etc). I would imagine a trick worm dropped in there would be easy pickings. I think I will park my boat parallel to the fence and have a go...lol
  6. If you guys have Directv in south Florida, check channel 603
  7. Just a tip. Practice backing the boat into the water at the ramp during the weekdays or when it is not busy until you get the hang of it. Nothing worse than a newbie struggling at the ramp, and then watching his boat sink because they forgot to put in the plug. Sometimes, vertical guide poles on the end of your trailer can help you see where the trailer is as you go down the ramp. Practice backing it straight in, and 90* back in's from right and left. A suggestion: Make yourself a to-do checklist of things so you can establish a routine...safety equipment/fishing poles/tackle box, ignition key in hand, gas/oil verified, battery charged, install the drain plug, remove the motor brace, remove the straps, etc. and then reverse the procedure as you leave. Congrats on your first boat.
  8. I went out last Saturday(one week ago) from 3-6pm at the Lox road ramp. It was NE windy, and the bass were not cooperating. The water is up a little, no issues, the hydrilla is minimal. I was just fun fishing with a friend from out of town. Frogs, EZ's, trick worms. 0 bass or bites.
  9. Did you catch them at the Tiki Bar?
  10. Nice bass. Fishing from a jon boat can be pretty tough out on the lake, especially when it is windy. When do you pick up your new ride?
  11. Anyone try to fish adjacent to the ramps that are the furthest west (near the miccosookie gas station)on the alley lately?
  12. When I was a teenager in 70's south Florida, I tried to jump across a narrow canal along Holmberg Road in Parkland... barefoot. I made it, but my right foot landed on some coral rock and I tore open the skin on the bottom and side of my heel. I used neosporin and peroxide, but it got infected anyways. The doctor had to use a scalpel to scrape the infection and some tissue away before it healed. Plus antibiotics. The canal/swamp water is definitely unhealthy.
  13. Hopefully the water levels will keep dropping. The water might have been tainted from back pumping from the cities and chased the bass deeper into flats. The report sounds encouraging for better fishing in the coming months.
  14. Nice video and bass.
  15. You better use your tackle differently those couple of days and forget about fishing...
  16. Thanks for the help guys. It turned out(the wives bs'ing too much) that we only had a couple of hours to fish (3-6) so I ended up going to Lox because it was closer. I didn't even get one bite, let alone a fish. Funny ting was as soon as we returned to the ramps, there was a guy fishing from shore who caught a 3#'er right in front of us. LOL
  17. Anyone been fishing out there recently? I have some friends coming into town Saturday, and they want to catch some bass. I have not been out there for months, so I am not sure if things are still slow. If anyone has any reports, I would appreciate it.
  18. LMAO..That locker room smell..
  19. Tebow should make a pass at her..
  20. As a teenager in the 70's, I was riding with some friends in the back seat of a 1966 Impala, when a black bird came through the window, hit me in the chest and dam near exploded. Feathers everywhere in the car. Thankfully no guts. We were going about 50 MPH.
  21. Is that lake you fish aquifer spring fed? The water looks really nice. Nice healthy bass too, she look to be in the 6-7 range.
  22. Living in Florida, I use ice bottles in the warm weather too, to keep the fish comfortable, but I do not use catch and release. Thanks for the info.
  23. I never use additive, I agree with Holigan. If your LW is working properly, you really don't need it.
  24. It is not under 10K, but I like this one for salt/fresh fishing. I like the fact that is completely unsinkable. Action Craft 2020 Flats Master http://www.actioncra...Craft_Boats.htm Check out craigslist south Florida..i could not paste the links here A couple of nice flats boats for under 10K
