I was looking at a map of Okeechobee and the ramp area was called sportsman's village. I guess the ramp is one and the same. I have never launched from there, so I thought I would ask. Are you familiar with the ramp and the channel?

There dredging a 1/4 mile section that will have no effect on anything. In fact it will be great when its done connecting Harney Pond to Mctush channel. Gar-tracker, What is the situation on the sportsman village(Mctoush) cut. Can I launch at the village and run to the box from there? Any water depth issues or boulders to be concerned about?

I agree with everything gar-tracker said 100%. Being on the warming side of the cold fronts is huge. Go with a guide. Money well spent.

I always think of the fishing trip as a team sport. Even if I am just fishing for fun. I don't mind seeing my fishing partner hauling in slabs because it means we are on the fish. However, if my partner is getting skunked and I am having a great day, I will offer my seat to get a change of pace. If it gets to the point of disruption, over the side you go..

Yes, those guys are always in the money. I guess it is time to explore HP again. I love the fishery, but not when the water is so high. It will be tough to fit 75 boats in the flats...lol Let us know all your findings

The KOTG is right around the corner 1/8/12. The fishing has been brutal at Holiday Park from the reports that I have been getting. I need to spend some time out there, but the funny thing I would rather fish Clewiston. If the conditions at HP are unfavorable, I wonder if the 1/8 will be moved. Any news?

The problem is that the QB has been playing pretty good. We cannot even lose right. Like South Florida said, we will win enough to ensure that we miss out on a better QB. Regarding Romo, he played pretty good too. Some of those passes he threw while being tackled where the difference in the game(apart from Matt Moore gift fumble).

The Miami Dolphins are having a terrible season, but they played well enough to win. The fumbles cost them the game. Hats off to the Boys for capitalizing on their mistakes. IMHO, if that is the best the Boys can do at home, it will be an early exit from the playoffs.

There is a ramp just east of the bridge that heads to Moorehaven. Check Google earth, the exit is just before the bridge. The 7 mile ditch is just west of the boat ramp across from the RV park. That 7 mile ditch leads into the monkey box if I am correct. Lots of hydrilla, I slayed a 7.2# there last spring the day before the KOTG Gambler tourney. I think the water was around 12' then. My Ranger just barely got out of there. The water was 3-4' in the ditch and about 2-3' at the monkey box. Your shallow boat will be perfect in there.
