  1. Very cool pumpkin. Is the area of the face thinner than the rest of the pumpkin?
  2. So far, it has cost me $165 ($55 co-pay for 3 visits) The first visit was consultation, the second was a very comprehensive ultra sound exam of the entire leg(groin to foot)by a pretty Colombian technician . And the third visit was the actual procedure. It is covered by insurance. I thought about using the veins as casings for beef jerky for our next BR get together , but they wouldn't let me have them. They definitely could have been used wacky rigging, or for a meaty snack on the back of a Johnson Spoon.
  3. What a wonderful thing to experience with your team mate and dad. A great story, my adrenaline got going just reading it. Congrats to you for winning the tournament. Beautiful looking bass.
  4. That is why it is always a good idea to carry a "bait" bucket.

  7. I had some pretty gnarly varicose veins in my right leg treated last Wednesday using the ELVT procedure and another to strip out some masses of veins. Other than quite a few injections :o to numb out the leg, it wasn't to bad at all. Up and walking around right after it was over. The worst part of it all is wearing the compression stocking for a couple of weeks. I highly recommend it to anyone with bulging and painful leg veins.
  8. I never tried them until a few weeks ago. They are addicting.
  9. The Libyan despot is gone, now another will take his place.
  10. Lake Okeechobee might be a good choice because it is centrally located so that south and central Florida can participate without driving more than an 1.5 hours to get there. Okee-tantie?
  11. I going to sit this one out. Good luck guys.
  12. I'm in. The Grape, Lake O, Stickmarsh /Ansin, would be my preference
  13. Same fish would be my guess. The cloud formations in the background are similar. That is a super nice bass.
  14. Great video Capt Shane.
  15. Thanks for the wood tutorial Rhino. I never knew the difference.
  16. Sounds like you had a great time there at Toho. Nice picture and looking forward to seeing your video.I am a huge fan of the Big Easy too. They have became my favorite plastic after being a worm fisherman for years.I just love the kissimmee/Toho area too. I caught my PB(12.7) on the east side of lake Hach along some shell beds. My dad used to be good friends with the owners of camp mack years ago. A great place to stay and great fishing.
  17. Excessive power loading at full throttle is probably not very healthy for the transom and trailer bunks.
  18. The alligator alley ramps in south florida became a hazard during the drought this summer. There was a prop wash crater about 30 ft off shore hidden under 12" of sometimes muddy water. the depth in that area is generally 5-6 ft. I am real careful about only using a little bit of throttle, and I am sure the other guys that discovered that crater think about it as well.
  19. The job looks great so far. The points Rhino made are very true. Do not compromise strength for light weight/speed. On my boat, I used excessive amounts of thick matting and glass on the rebuilt stringers and floor because the boat was used in the south Florida Atlantic ocean(17' Formula deep V). The hull was extremely solid to the point of being over weight, which gave me some added security when I sometimes got air borne at the break waters. The boat had plenty of free board, even though it sat a little bit lower. Because bass boats sit lower and have less free board, especially in the stern, that is what prompted my concern. My procraft 1750V restoration was a bit heavy too because again, too much glass. After re-reading my prior comment, I am glad that Rhino set you straight. My intention was to share my experience and mistakes. By all means use plenty of glass because it is unknown how much will be required as was stated. The good news is that all the weight you removed by removing all the wet floatation and rot will probably offset any additional added weight. Keep the pics coming.
  20. I would like to see Hank Williams Jr do the show
  21. I think more appropriate punishment would be to make the player sit for a quarter...not punish the whole team by taking the points off the board. Just a ridiculous rule.
  22. You guys should have just had a duel in the parking lot...rattle traps at 30 paces...or perhaps a good glove smack.. lol
  23. Must be the loaded 12 gauges.. I like the pit bull analogy. They act like angry pit bulls with no fear.Falling in the water in that canal would be bad.
  24. Speaking of the gators,I had a est 12-14 foot gator(huge head-mouth open slightly) surface a few feet in front of my legs as I was sitting in the front seat of my bass boat with my legs stretched out over the side at the intersection of Uncle Joe's cut/rim canal at Lake Okeechobee.I guess the wiggling of my toes was enticing Up until that point all I saw was the run of the mill 5-8' gators. Needless to say, I retracted my legs from the side of the boat to under the seat for a while. You just never know what is lurking under there. I pass on the canoes and kayaks unless it is a neighborhood canal. I have had some success fishing where gators are present and I have also noticed a lack of fish when they are not around. That said, I think it is a good sign to see some gators. Great video Capt Shane, I enjoy watching your trips.
