  1. That is just what I need for Christmas!

When I was young, before we adopted a German short haired pointer, I had a pet lizard that lived in our screen porch for a few weeks. I went out to see him one day and he was crushed on the door frame of the screen door...then came Duke the pointer.
  3. Make sure all your accessories are turned off. The battery might have discharged otherwise what Rhino said.
  4. Glad you made out to lake Okeechobee. It really is a great fishery. That wind will definitely chase you off of the lake though.
  5. Sweet. Thanks again
  6. Miami usually plays well in the first half. The problem is the second half. It must be Tony's half time pep talk. Today, once the oline started getting some injuries, we were doomed against the Giants pass rush. They just started teeing off on Moore. Nate Garner played well for Incognito. He should be starting. Oh well..0-7 and heading toward a new regime and top pick in the draft. The team has some good pieces, but we still need another draft to fill the rest of the holes.
  7. Thanks for the info and the locations. Is it better in the morning, or is the best time to fish dependent on the tide? Early morning would be my preference later this week when the rain stops.
  8. Don't be modest...after all, you are LONG Mike..lol
  9. I do not know the area in northern palm beach. Can you suggest a spot in NPB, time or tide, and a decent bait for a novice(beginner) surf fisherman? I have some time off right now and I want to give it a try.
  10. A beast of a bass in the 40's. Nice job ww2farmer
  11. What year is the hull and motor? It is tough to judge or make a determination on whether you have a good deal or not without more information. There are too many unknowns for me. Buying a project boat like this from an owner would at least give you some information and history about the boat. Buying from a pawn shop, you get sketchy info at best. Make sure you have life jackets.

Gorgeous bass. I can't wait to get back out there.
  13. Great news. Hopefully we will have a mild winter to replenish the population.
  14. I think your assessment is correct. I really have never used it as a surf rod, casting repeatedly. The thing I do like about it is that it will cast pretty far. I landed a 30# blackfin tuna with it on the drift boat, but that was with bait. The next time the shore fishing picks up, I might as well use it. Thanks for your comments
  15. I went for my second ELVT/stripping procedure last Wednesday. It was done on the same leg and some areas were still very sore from the first go-around. Unfortunately, those same areas got the needles again ,as well as some new areas. Hopefully everything will be healing up real fast so I can get back to fishing. As I was laying on my back on the table in sliced up now crotchless paper shorts, legs spread, I wondered why the table was aimed directly at the door. It seemed every few minutes another nurse would open up the door and ask if there was anything she could do to help. Lord have mercy...lol

I agree with what Rhino said. Helping your fellow man is the most important thing. The Haitian adults have no prospects and the children there live in deplorable poverty in some areas. The natural disasters took an already poor country and leveled it. There are programs in place here in the USA that help the less fortunate, but over there, there is only the religious outreach of the churches making a difference on a continuing basis. Have a safe trip to Haiti.
  17. I have a Penn 850 spinning reel on a big surf (est 10-12')one piece rod. I need to re-spool the reel. Is this a good combo, and what line weight would be good for surf fishing?
  18. It would kill everything else, including shrimp, bugs, and other critters in the glades that feed the fish too. They might have to close of or fill in canals to certain sections of the glades, lower the water to drought conditions and then finish them off with the poison. Basically create a dead zone, and then restock. Sounds like the nuclear option. Maybe it could be timed to avoid the migratory bird season to lessen the impact. Another problem with rotenone is that is suspected to cause Parkinson's disease. I am sure the outcry would prevent it's use.
  19. Beautiful colors on those two slabs. I don't know how many times I was ready to give up and then I tell myself "a few more casts over here" and it pays off with a nice bass. You slayed two. Well done.
  20. Excellent reports guys. It sounds like it was a lot of fun.
  21. Hey Mike, I am glad your surgeries were a success. The advances in medical technology are really amazing. Another side benefit of waiting probably meant more modern technology was available. Just awesome on the cost to you. Generally speaking, sometimes we accept the aches and pains and don't address them, just get used to them. I know that as I get older(50), I am definitely paying more attention.
  22. Sorry for the loss of your pet spider.
  23. Just another pathetic performance. The only silver lining is that we are still in the running for Andrew Luck. Bill Parcells just sits in the ESPN studio so smug and detached about this team. His finger prints are all over this crime scene.
  24. never thought about peeling the skin..very cool We will be doing pumpkins soon. I will try to post a pic.
  25. LOL...check your PM for the name of the doctor The needle sticks to numb out the area can hurt some, but the laser itself is absolutely painless.
