  1. The show is too much talking and not enough coverage of the fisherman. The classic location could have been a more exciting place. Muddy water. It is hard to get real excited for 13-17# bags during a classic. I enjoyed the show, but it is slipping IMHO.

    LOL
  3. The head coach and especially the defensive coordinator should receive the punishment, if any. Suspensions and fines.
  4. Use google earth and zoom in the areas near the ramps to find the approximate trail locations. Watermelon/Red glitter is a good color for starters on frogs, worms, and swim baits..especially if the sun is shining.
  5. Nice story. Glad you had a great day out there at Lox. A couple of suggestions. Try the hydrilla mats on the north side near the ramps if it is not too windy, and if you are able, take your canoe into the trails leading into the sawgrass a little bit.. There are a couple close by the ramps, 100 yards north. You can get some relief from the wind in there too. I have pulled some nice bass out those areas, so you really don't need to go far. Frogs and swim baits like Gambler ez's are pretty good there in Lox. Be careful in your canoe..(PFD's)

Clewiston. Gambler only baits. Registration starts at 4AM.
  7. Any of you guys pre-fishing Clewiston or fishing McMillians Belle Glade on Saturday?
  8. Nice Lake O beauties. Nothing better to be on the lake in the late afternoon/early morning with the water so calm.
  9. I keep a 4-5' gaff hook in my boat to make it easier to remove the weeds / cat tails off the prop. It works pretty good.
  10. Such a drop in pitch should have been quite noticeable on hole shot.
  11. Fantastic bass.
  12. What I keep my eyes open for while fishing alone is those big pythons. I haven't seen one yet though.
  13. I have seen several manatees in the rim canal and in the Clewiston cut. They are in there.
  14. Hey Bruce. Nice chunky bass. Hopefully the water will clear up asap.
  15. You are right about Jd's frogs..very tough, yet still have great action.
  16. The design is just a product of his imagination which has been programmed by his living environment. If there are gang signs there, it probably was not deliberate.
  17. Those BMI indexes are unrealistic, especially if you are big / tall framed. Just my .02
  18. Bobby Brown ruined Whitney with drugs.
  19. Glad neither of you were hurt. Sounds like you will be fine with the insurance covering your losses. Did you guys have to wrestle with any gators while you were waiting to be picked up? I have had a few close calls there too in my old 1987 ranger and older 1984 procraft. Once in the rim ditch by a 40-50' cabin cruiser. I took a huge wave over the bow that put a lot of water in my boat..then got completely air borne on the second wave. I could have shot at him if I had a gun LOL. The other time was the same scenario. Too low in the back, waves, and I took a little bath. Didn't sink though. My next boat will definitely have more free board or scupper holes
  20. I am no expert but here is my opinion, It is really a little bit more complicated than just 3 blade vs 4 blade. Your prop should allow your engine to reach maximum wide open throttle (***) RPM. Most engines that is around 5500. I am not sure about yours. Stainless steel is superior to aluminum. The blades are thinner and stronger. You are correct about 3 blades generally speaking giving more top speed, and 4 blades better bite in rough conditions and turning. I would take a 3 blade SS prop, but the prop for that 85HP motor may not be the right diameter and pitch for the 115. It will probably be a bit small causing the 115 to over rev.. Also, different motor brands props don't always match up(splines).
  21. Very cool Shane. Looks like everyone had a great time.

My old club used to fish there almost every month in 08,09,10,11 with some very good results in Feb. It is really strange what has happened there at HP. I agree about waiting until April. If nothing is happening then, there must have been a fish kill or something.

How many boats turned out at KOTG? Winning weight? Lake O is still the place to go. Holiday park is a waste of gas right now IMHO. Soon as the flats start drying up, things should get better. Kevin
  24. If you have a boat, I would have to sat the Fort Lauderdale area. We are 1.25 -1.5 hour drive to Clewiston, and have the Everglades, specifically Holiday Park 15-30 minutes west. During the spring and summer, either place is red hot. Five fish bags between 30-35 lbs are fairly common when Holiday Park is red hot, plus the fish are confined in the canals, which makes pretty easy fishing. Lake O has been great since the major drought a few years ago. Canal Fishing is limited to the flood control canals, and some limited dock fishing at holiday park, some residential canals and lakes, and the canals off tamiami trail. Google earth is a great way to find canals with access. There is peacock bass fishing in Miami canals too. Can't do that in central Florida. Regarding Salt Water, the east coast of South Florida is great, plus the keys are only 2 hours away.
