  1. I would guess 4-5 #s
  2. The worst dryer problem in my 2 story house is the dryer vent. Whoever designed the house was an idiot. Instead of putting the vent through the wall, it goes up through the roof. I fooled with it for a weekend with one of those brush on a flexible rod deals before calling a professional. He was up in the attic for quite a while before announcing that it was clear. When I had a new roof put on last year, somehow debris was dropped down the vent hole. I will give you a call next time. ..LOL
  3. Two areas that I found some nice bass and good quantities are just west of the Rock Island Road bridge. Start there and fish west for about a mile using horny toads. The other spot was east of where the Lyons road bridge crosses the canal. Start there and fish east on the south bank to the bend in the canal. I had a couple of snake heads there too. They broke my line.
  4. My 1987 Ranger 373 with a Merc 150 needs 2.5' and even then it is churning mud. I do not recommend it.
  5. I had the same problem a couple years back and it was a dirty condenser coil. It took me about 15 minutes to clean it off and no more problems. LOL..Doug!
  6. The stick marsh used to be known for consistent giant bass, but I am not sure if it is the same as a few years ago.
  7. There are plenty here. Take as many as you want.
  8. There is another great club in sunrise and margate if interested.
  9. Look for sandy bottom and clear water. Work your crank baits right next to any vegetation. If using frogs, creature baits and worms, cast into pockets in and around the vegetation. If nothing else is working, cast out a small live bait fish under a bobber at late in the afternoon/sunset. If there are any bass in there, you will know pretty quick.
  10. I have been very lucky, no incidents. One time, I was east of Clewiston is the rim canal and I was going to make a left into that cut that goes straight into the lake. There is a channel marker there, but I forget the number. At the last minute, I decided to come off plane and fish the cut out to the lake. As I am pulling into the cut, dropping the trolling motor, I see that the water is only a couple of feet deep with lots of boulders right in the center of the entrance of the channel. If I would have came off plane a few seconds later, I would have dropped right into that boulder shallow. On either side, it is deeper, but right down the middle, shallow. I never noticed it before that day. I never take the lake for granted or assume anything, it can bite you.
  11. Once I got dressed without turning on the light and I had mistakenly put on sneakers that didn't match. Black on one foot and grey on the other..lol
  12. Running up on a shallow can happen very easily if you are not familiar with the lake. I can just picture the guy high and dry rooster tailing his V-8 to trying to get free.
  13. I have not fished there, but I am also interested in the canal. There are a couple other canals that border the Everglades Park north and west of the C-111 that have primitive boat ramps. When I finally get down there, I will check them out. That C-111 probably has everything from bream - bass - snook - tarpon.
  14. Great job with the camera and monster bass as always. I have got to take a trip to Texas.
  15. My wife and I also liked his paintings. What a loss at such a young age. RIP.
  16. Great job landing that hog.
  17. What about pictures during the event?
  18. A lot of the Talapia sold in stores are harvested from Lake Victoria, which is in Africa..so says my fish monger..
  19. I had a 5 fish @ 5.6 lbs last time out there. All keepers but very small indeed.
  20. I will finally have a use for those banjo minnows.
  21. Has there been a location picked?
  22. Will you be fishing out of Clewiston? I have only been out a couple of times this year, but I will chime in. Your conclusions IMHO are spot on. Punching mats might be an option you will want to include. The weather conditions and wind really affect the bite and where you can fish. The clearer the water the better is a good general rule, Sometimes you have to get back into the grass to find it. If we have steady weather and light winds you should do real well. Last minute fishing reports will be the most helpful. You should get a topographical map of the lake to get some idea where the shallow/deep water is.
