WWII is an interest of mine. My great uncle served in the south pacific during WWII. He used to tell us great war stories and stories of everyday life in Tinian fueling long range bombers. One story was about how the crew scored some heavy cream or milk, filled up some empty paint cans, and attached it to the landing gear of the B29 bombers. When the planes returned, they ate ice cream with the crews.

If I could chime in. CGH and WTS are both right. Before you invest in thousands of dollars of motor mods, you really need to think about what you really want out of this boat. You mentioned that it is rated for a 150, if you exceed the recommended HP, you could break the transom and have liability issues if someone gets hurt. The 5 - 15 mph (or 50 HP) you will gain will still not be enough because it is never enough. You will get used to the increased speed. Getting to the "honeyhole" first is over rated. There are always other places to fish. There are always faster boats. If you are dead set on having the fastest boat, you will have to sell the boat you have and buy a slicker hull with modded 3.0 or larger motor. Might I suggest a 21' allison with a 300? Sometimes speed compromises fishability and rough water handling. My old procraft rig does 55 MPH with a 2.0 150 and I am happy with it. I have fished in tourneys that had competitors that had 100+ MPH boats. I beat them again and again at the scales. The reason I won was because I was actually fishing, they were busy driving 100 mph from one end of the lake to the other.

SirSnook, you are da man. It doesnt get better than that trifecta! What kind of hooks do you use on your horny toads. I have a poor hook up rate using the 5/0 horny toad hooks. I have resorted to using the old style snap weedless 4/0 hooks, which allows the frog to swim OK. It has been working Ok. Another benefit is I can switch over to a worm using the same hook. I tried using a double frog hook on the HT's, but the frogs sink like a rock. Raising the rod helps, but they get snagged alot. Does Zoom make a type of frog that floats? Any suggestions?

The extra filter probably wont hurt. I use a sierra water/filter separator. It works great and it does filter the gas. It uses a 10 micron filter. No problems or complaints.

Cold weather will slow things down. As soon as it warms back up, the bite will improve. Generally, I would look for areas that have clean water. The bullrushes around the islands and the lillypad areas near Hendersons cove are my favorite spots at Istopoga.

What if the neighbor never put the TV at the curb, someone else dumped it there. What if he thought you dumped it there. He might think you are the culprit. Nobody knows. Dont over-react until know what the facts are. Chances are that you will have a big laugh about it and the guy is OK. For now, just think about the safety of your girlfriend. Pull the TV inside for now or have a friend dump it.
