  1. If it’s for one week you “might” be ok but it’ll need to be thoroughly rinsed after every use.
  2. Black/Blue, green pumpkin/(insert a number of colors here) and white.
  3. I have the same thing here in central Florida, needing a boat that can do double duty. I have an 1820 Action Craft flats boat. I bass or crappie fish 90 % of the time now but used to do a lot of SW fishing out of it. I had no problem taking it out if port Canaveral and fish the beaches on a good day. It’ll take a pretty good chop.
  4. Don’t own a mega bass anything. I still catch fish and quality too. Maybe they just aren’t that popular here in Florida. Probably I’m just too cheap to pay $20-25 for a lure?
  5. Stand and lean against seat when resting.
  6. 1953 for me so I’m a little out of the dates window WRB and you are so right. We lived it and have so much to offer but very few seem to want to listen these days. They should remember the old EF Hutton commercials. “When EF Hutton talks, people listen”
  7. What captain Phil said. But I will share one experience I had. March 18, 1986 I enter my first Redman tournament on the Kissimmee chain and who do I draw as a boater but Shaw Grigsby. To say I was excited was an understatement. The prior year Shaw had won the Redman All American Tournament on the Kissimmee chain and won $100,000. One of, if not the largest prize in bass fishing at the time. A major cold front moved through the night before and the morning of the tournament it was in the upper 30’s with 10-15 mph winds out of the north. Anyone that fishes Florida knows what happens to our bass, they go into lockdown. Shaw had a spot in lake Kissimmee we were going to so I knew we were in for a rough ride. When he put on a motorcycle helmet I KNEW we were. Toho was whitecaps that got worse as we went further south. At one point he asked me if I was ok and I said “ you just drive, I’m fine”. He got that big smile of his and he drove he did. We finally got to his spot on Kissimmee. I had fished Kissimmee a lot back then and there were big pad fields in certain locations. One of the better ones was on the east side of Sturm island. What Shaw had found was an opening on the back side of this field, about an acre in size, that wasn’t visible from the lake. Even the path into it wasn’t noticeable. With bluebird skies and cold temps we knew our only hope was flipping. We stayed in that spot for most of the day making multiple trips around it flipping the edges. I managed to catch 4 fish including one close to 5# while Shaw struggled. I would flip a lot of the same spots he did behind him and get bit. Because I was fishing out of the back of the boat, I think his flip got them interested and when I dropped in they finally decided to bite. With a little over 2 hours left in the tournament and about an hour run back to the ramp, Shaw says “ I think you have a shot at winning this thing, let’s go hit a few spots I have on our way see if we can make that happen”. As we got back to Toho he took me to a number of his spots to see if I could get my last fish or upgrade. It didn’t work out and I weighed in the 4 fish for an 11-8 bag. I took 7 place out of 256 guys and took home a $350 check. 17 lbs won it so he was right. What Shaw did that day speaks volumes of his character and obviously it’s ingrained in my memory as one of the greatest experiences I’ve had in bass fishing. I would see him at future events and he would still remember that day saying he’d never seen anyone flip an almost 5# fish into the boat in the hook set like I did that day. And now you know why I’m a fan of Shaw Grigsby and continue to root for one of the greatest pros in the sport. Thanks again Shaw.
  8. Good. Dealer here in central Florida said it was 12 weeks out to get one.
  9. Have you sat in the drivers seat of all of them? I am amazed at the lack of legroom in both the Tracker and Rangers. I’m 6’2” and my knees hit the console on all but the Rt188P. Couldn’t hardly get into the RT 198P. the Trackers were just as bad. I don’t understand the lack of legroom.
  10. Mike there was an article on here not long ago where a pro was talking about subtle changes to jerk baits. Hook size and even split ring size to get them to suspend or slightly sink. https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/early-spring-stickbaits.html
  11. I’m with Mike and Hammer.
  12. Nice going. What guide did you use? Did you use artificials or shiners?
  13. I live on the St. John’s but further south in Debary. Fog cleared early this morning. Past 2 days couldn’t see 100 yards. Water’s warming up quick. Mid 50’s last week and upper 60’s yesterday. Going tomorrow. They hit it right except for the afternoon storms but heck it Florida.
  14. Your buddy would be correct Reb. It’s a zoo right now and will be for months
  15. Always been a tough place for me. Lots of mudfish though. Lake is surrounded by cypress trees with emergent grass in places. MLF fished it in the world championship that Hackney won. Might try to find the video and watch it.
  16. JF, I agree on the big fish but that hour of dinks does reinforce the fact that you are in the right area and doing something right.
  17. I revised title to bass only.
  18. Yes it definitely depends on the lake and time of year you’re fishing. But based on the responses so far, the averages seem to be what I experience and expected from others.
  19. What do you feel constitutes an average, good or great day bass fishing broken down into an hourly average? Whether it’s 4,6,8 hours fished. For me, 1-2 per hour for average, 3 per for good and anything over that would be great for me.
  20. Initials and year I was born.
  21. Might be a little tight but I think we can manage. I’ll pm you.
  22. Road warrior I’m not a guide but have fished stick marsh since it opened. I’m more than happy to take you if I’m available the time you’re here. January can be tough due to cold fronts and north winds.
