Moving South ?
You guys in the south are lucky. It is starting to get cold here at night and soon it will be in the day. Someday I will be in the mid-south : Would love to live somewhere I can fish year round. I don't mind the cold but the snow and the ice stink.

How do you?
I second that. Don't like the cold to much so ice fishing is out and sometimes in Michigan the ice barely gets good enough to do that. I sleep and drink more too, dream of spring.

Choices...choices...choices Fishing Line
if you look on Yo-Zuri's web site (http://www.yo-zuri.com/Products/ProdLine/HybridLineChart.htm) the Hybrid 6 lb. test line has almost the same breaking strength as the 8 lb. I like having the thinner diameter of the 6 lb. and it seems to handle a little better. Therefore, by going down to 6 lb. has only benefits from what I see. That would be my recommendation. I agree. As a matter-of-fact, although I always recommend #6 to anyone that asks, I use #4 (.009" diameter, 8.5 lb test) on my main smallmouth rig. In addition to several 20+ lb catfish, drum and buffalo, the fish in my avatar were both caught on #4. Hey RW, Are you back reeling with the lighter pound line? I am just nervous/lack experience to use that light of a line for bigger smallmouth.
-
OK RW, here goes, Pure flouro, why use it?
My only experience with Flourocarban so far really has been river drifting tubes and a little drop shotting. I like Yozuri but havent tried it for drifting. Any opinions on it? What kind of pound, use 10 p-line for drifting now. Everyone I talk to on St.Clair that is drifting seems to use Flouro but I don't see where a copoly would hinder you? Also I am thinking the Yozuri will not sink as fast? Is that right?

UMF.. Clausen vs. Ehrler
It was a shock to see Had it on the DVR and had to rewind a couple of times to see again. It was a shady move but there were no rules broken as he fell in and was not pushed. Even if Ehrler didn't fall in he had no chance against Clausen as was evident in the earlier quarters. The show is chessy at best so what can you expect. Just my opinion. :-/

Redesigned Avids

Is fireline harder to cast?
you are right, its a superline. Off subject but have you ever tried the powerpro 15lb? Like the 50lb but looking for a lighter line for different apps?
-
Is fireline harder to cast?
I think fireline seems harder too cast than some of the other braids. Havent fount a light briad I really like yet though. Braid is easier to clean up a backlash though. I am pretty new to braid so cant say much, like power pro and suffix but havent tried either is like a 10lb.

favorite plastic worm color
Junebug I have had the best luck with, but I think it is a confidence color for me. Most dark colors fair well. Why is it though that chartreuse spinnerbaits seem to worm great but try the color in a worm and no luck?
-
Best Mono
I have had great luck with the flouroclear and really like yozuri. As far as straight mono suffix seige has been okay but nothing to write home about either. I think I just like the copoly's better.

saginaw bay michigan /smallmouth bass
Charity Island is normally great ( In Pre spawn is is like the end of the rainbow.)also front side of gull island if you can take the noise of the gulls. Crank baits off the rocks work well. Au Gres point is another great spot for small mouth. Tubes, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits all work well. Hope it helped some. Grew up fishing Walleye and Salmon in the bay and use to hate the small mouth, cant get enough of them now.Funny how things change.

My New Ride
