  1. Cryotherapy is incredible to speed recovery. It forces the blood from the extremities to the core of the body to protect the organs the body then becomes charged with oxygen and natural anti inflammatory proteins. Then after leaving the frigid temperatures the blood vessels dilate and rush oxygen rich blood and endorphins back through the body. Elite pro athletes use this to recover. As each year passes and another candle goes into the bday cake being able to make it through physically to the end is enough.
  2. Livescope. Whoever designed the Yamamoto senko (a team refined the finished lure not just Gary). Same thing goes for the designers who made the Vision Jr, the Rozante 77sp, hybrid hunter, Z-man elastic ned rigs, daiwa, shimano and other brilliant engineers who thought up and crafted the tools we use today.
  3. Lures, rods, reels, boats, lines and electronics are nothing but toys for grown ass men. The bait monkey deserves tribute. Nothing wrong with that. Reminds me of when I used to goto the toy section of a store with the rows of lego sets, hot wheels and transformers hanging on the wall. Didn't have the resources to get what I want then but now its on like Donkey Kong. Then their are other tackle junkies that write about it which further pushes the obsession to another level.
  4. MB X-nanahan, Lucky craft staysee 90 and vision plus 2 yielded the best results so far. LC staysee 90 ironically landed my PB largie.
  5. I bought the JDM version of this last year. Love the reel--that said it broke on me, had to send it to Japan and pay to have it fixed. The sideplate where the screw would go into it broke. Full disclosure I made the reel punch above its weight with Peacock bass on live bait that typically ran 4 to 8 lbs and almost always pulled drag. Clown knifes too that ran up to 10 lbs. And took it into the saltwater inshore environment to catch sheepshead, snapper, snook and jacks. In other words I put the reel through its paces and pushed it way past its comfort zone. And even though she busted on me, once I got her back she's right back on the starter list. Daiwa and their t wing line are easily my favorite reels by far.
  6. Oh heck yes. This appeals to the tech driven anglers who wanted high end gear when they were younger but got priced out. Bait monkey activated. Not to be forgotten the Googan Squad is making their line of schlocky repainted KastKing plastic crapola in a box in lit colors. Life is about choices.
  7. Take some preventative measures. PFAS and PFOS are stored in the liver but not excreted so readily. The associations are similar to BPAs and such are linked to metabolic disease, endocrine and heptatic dysfunction. In terms of toxicity they tend to use a bile sequestrant in cholestyramine to bind bile in the intestines in order to prevent reabsorption thereby increasing elimination. 4 year half life and if you are thinking of having children it does cross the placenta and could cause issues to the fetus. In a nutshell take nac and glycine together along with a few other minerals and hepatic protective herbs to help prevent liver cell damage and reabsorption. Bile salts are critical too in this process but I cannot comment until I've done more research on it. <---Holistic healer by trade.
  8. Saw both videos. Great information in each. Being new to bass fishing the analytic approach combined with FFS is the way to go. Short of hiring a local guide the data driven real time analysis is far more valuable to enhance the experience. Fish code studios, fish the moment and Roland Martin YT are exceptional. The latest video yielded some gems. In a given field of 10 bass on a brush pile 3 leave when the boat approaches, 3 leave at the sight of a lure (wrong color or presentation?) and leaving 4 as potential catches. To greatly increase odds FFS scan a pile, drift in stealthily then present a lure and the odds of catching increase by 30 percent.
  9. Daiichi Knot assist FG 2.0 Really helped allot in tying the FG knot.
  10. Don't overpower the lure with heavy leader line. I use either a 10 lb fluro or 12 lb mono defiler. Neo pearl is the most productive color.
  11. 6 lb Peacock bass. 7 lb clownknife. Dozens and dozens of 1-2 lb LMB. No tank largies yet. Greatest finesse twitch bait ever made.

Swam with Blue Whales in Sri Lanka in the Indian ocean. Didn't really swim with them more like got into their water space while they grabbed some air and blew by to go back down into the trench. Only place on the planet where they aren't in constant migration. Paid through the nose to get into their space but worth every penny. Two days later went dune bashing in Dubai in UTV's and on the way back to the facility ran into a line of wild camels. Nature is the best artist bar none.
  13. Exactly what I'm saying. They don't even have to commit to the lure they see something erratic darting around and check it out of curiosity. This is a homerun of a lure.
  14. What makes the Rozante 77 stand out is the action. If there was ever a twitch bait that could illicit a response from fish it would be this one. I'm surprised more companies didn't reverse engineer their own version of this one much they knocked off the vision 110. Even if the fish are weary they'll usually take a defensive or territorial swipe at this lure. Underwater it has erratic side to side quick action and allot of times I'll hook the fish on the side of the body. It dances like a knuckleball. That it runs shallow is a bonus. There 3 lures I always have tied on that never misses. Vision jr in pearl. OSP Bent minnow 86f. Duo Realis 77 sp in neo pearl. Arguably the best 3 search baits around.
  15. Limiting this to freshwater only Peacock bass and clown knife fish fight much harder pound for pound than largies. It's not even a debate. Peacocks natural habitat is the amazon. They run hard dive down and put up a prolonged fight while a largie would have rolled over and came up after one run. That said the clown knife outclasses both. They swim backwards. They hit hard, refuse to surface and can put on the brakes like no other freshwater fish can. They get aerial too and shake aggressively. Largies over 4 lbs are lazy and sluggish. I am certain beyond a shadow of a doubt if peacock bass and clown knife fish had the LMB's range across the world--no one would want to fish for bass any longer.
  16. Duo Realis rozante 77 sp. Best small profile jerkbait around. Megabass vision jr and vision jr +1. OSP Bent minnow. Underrated. Moves like a shallow running vision. A cross between a shallow running twitch bait and a topwater. Should be way more popular than it gets credit for.
  17. Duo Realis Rozante 77 sp. My goto bait of choice no doubt regardless of price point. Best search bait without a doubt and skunk repellent.
  18. One of the plastic screw holders that held the sideplate onto the reel. To be fair I regularly used it to for bigger fish like clown knife fish and peacocks. Both fight substantially harder than largies pound for pound.
  19. Loved mine till it broke. Had to send it back to Japan to get it fixed so it ran me another 75 more than it should. That said its still one of my favorite reels.
  20. Florida takes the freshwater crown by a landslide. In freshwater peacocks, clownknives and snakeheads exceed bass for sheer excitement and fighting prowess. The experience of hooking into a juvenile tarpon or snook WHILE fishing for bass in some of the rare brackish ponds and canals-- will definitely change what you though about pond fishing for good. Even in its native environment and home waters large mouth bass are outclassed and outgunned. For example the clownknife is an invasive species that took hold and upped the ante. They fight like few fish can, they swim backwards and go airborne like a tarpon. Oh and they get bigger than largies at a faster pace. I'm convinced if bass fishermen ever came here and hooked into the freshwater 'by catch' they would get an eye opening experience making it that much harder to go back to bass. The widespread appeal of bass is because of its range (found everywhere) and something everyone can relate too.
  21. I'm having trouble finding hooks for the Vision Jr and the Duo Realis rozante 77 sp. But your guide with weights in grams was very helpful. Got any suggestions?
  22. No contest here for two reasons. We can fish year round for both freshwater and saltwater. The options are solely limited to your budget and how far you are willing to go. While most of the nation is winding down we are just getting into the better part of bass fishing.
  23. Some of them are incredible gems. That's what we search for. Vision 110s, vision jr and anything megabass has lived up to the hype and exceeded it. Jackall slender point and 78 is an outstanding lure. Duo realis rozzante smaller profile with erratic action. Gancraft split tail soft plastic. Yamamoto fat Ika.
  24. In south florida there is no offseason. That said repetitive strain injuries are common.
  25. I'm new to bass fishing. Very challenging more than I realized. Bass are finicky. Hard to get a commitment and the big ones are sluggish. In the south florida waters I fish they are outclassed by peacocks and clown knifes: those two species are fast apex aggressive predators that will crush a lure. Fishing Mecca is plagued by really hot summers that drag on and the occasional hurricane. Which hurricanes btw are overrated. I've been living here since 1977 and a handful stick out in my mind. The gulf states are the ones that will get hammered by canes bc they are not as prepared and the gulf is shallow with very warm waters. Mark my words. The Carolinas and GA are going to get crushed by a gnarly storm too.
