A big girl brutalized me while using 8lb Daiwa Hidden fluoro on one of my BFS rigs. I'm staying at 8 lb. I keep telling myself that it had to be a big cat, but I never saw it. It hit, I swung, it ran straight out under my boat pulling drag about 12 - 15 yards of drag and got on some timber.

Low of 30 base layer is jeans & short sleeve Columbia shirt. Low of 45 base layer will be Columbia shorts & shirt with sandals for when I get hot. 30 usually climbs to 50 - 55 and 45 will normally hit 60 - 65. Hopefully that makes sense.

Well after a trip like that, it'll not be too difficult to do better next time out. I almost had a day like that once minus the trout.

I use 14 lb Stren Mono in all conditions for Spinnerbaits. I figure if they can't see the wire of the bait, they're certainly not gonna see my line. I mean I caught a 9 lb 9oz LM throwing a 3/16 oz Spinnerbait on straight 30 lb braid, just function checking a reel after reassembling it after a full clean & lube.

I use the SDJ knot from Neds to my biggest swimbaits and see no reason to change.
