Hi all,

What line size and type would you use on a baitcaster for finesse 3/8 ounce spinnerbaits or 3/8 ounce underspin minnows? I’m leaning toward 12 pound straight flouro. Largest bass caught on this would not exceed 5 pounds for what it’s worth. I’m looking for something light enough to get the bait down.

12 is what I use for spinner baits.

For 3/8 double willow I use 12 YH line.

Bigger weights I go up to 20..

12 is good but check your line often and retie when needed.

Usually 12 but 10 in clear water.

  I use 14 lb Stren Mono in all conditions for Spinnerbaits. I figure if they can't see the wire of the bait, they're certainly not gonna see my line. I mean I caught a 9 lb 9oz LM throwing a 3/16 oz Spinnerbait on straight 30 lb braid, just function checking a reel after reassembling it after a full clean & lube.

 

I use Big Game  12lb ….. like Frank’s hot sauce.

Me too.

Anywhere between 10 and 15 lb, depending on where I am fishing the spinnerbait.
