Monster 9 lb shad!
A high quality beach ball would probably do the trick. And just think how many times that shad had to escape the jaws of death over the years to get that big. ;DLMFAO ;D, A beach ball! I almost sprinkled in my pants . I have never laughed at a post like that before.

Tough fishing last Saturday
Maybe I should have gone, it seems the worse the conditions the better I do (lately).

Success on Saturday evening
That was some killer advise, but I was kidding. My grandfather was a Mepps kinda guy.

Occoquan Resevior
G, I fished a few last year and got my butt handed to me. Like Strykul said, these guys are serious. I'm not trying to toot my own horn, but I can fish and never once was in contention for the money. You have to have several things going for you to win. A fast boat, Knowledge of the Quan and the ability not to come unglued when at 1 PM you don't have single a keeper. Trolling motors only will not win. Every tourny I fished was won way up river. The Quan may not be all that large, but it fishes big and I mean real big.

Any luck night fishing lately?
Trevor, thats great to hear about Trent (cause he owes me money).

The good and the bad!!!
That smallie came on the same stretch of bank that I got the 3 pounder on last spring. I'll be back for more.

Monster 9 lb shad!
Now that is the bait needed to break Perry's record. But where do you find a bobber for that thing??????

Day 2 Skunked.
Chai, shoot me a PM for pointers.

The good and the bad!!!
Andrew, put a trailer hook on your buzzbait. Simon, next time we should trade up and have you fish half the day with me and half the day with Andrew. Just wait for the post spawn to pass and it'll be on. It's good to see that round 2 for team "feel the burn" really paid off. Andrew, did you catch any where I told you to go as I left?

G, nice post. Do you fish any of the tourny's on the res? Not to sure on the shad deal, but I know a guy that might and I'll talk with him and figure it out.

The good and the bad!!!
Went out fishing today with Dominion Dan which was pretty cool in it's self, we met up with Paul Naj, Simonsays and Ado124. Lets start with the bad...........I was unable to put a pattern together at all. Only one fish was put in the boat by me. Dan on the other hand caught his PB small mouth and let me tell you that was a nice battle. Dan was all grins after that. I love it when I can do that for people. Paul Naj seemed to have the key to success today by boating 4-5 keepers with one close to 5lbs. As for Simon and Andrew, I have yet heard. They went out for round 2 after Dan and I left....Who's ready for their next PB?

update
Let us know how they do. I'm always looking for new rods. Been looking at the Avids for some time now. Just get up at 4:45 and sneak out for a little top water action and slip back in bed before she wakes up..............She'll never know.

Paul, check your PM.

Who is going and who does/does not have a boat?

Alphas for pitching?
Do you really know what 20 lbs. of drag pressure looks like? Try it sometime on your rod. I hope you have a good warranty program. Better yet, set your drag at 20 lbs. and tie your line to a cinderblock and then kick the block off your porch or deck and then tell me what happened. Your not gonna like the outcome. 6-10 lbs. of drag is more than sufficient in getting fish out of heavy cover. Edited to add: My intention was not to sound like a smartass even though after I read my reply it does sound that way. I'm sure the Revo is a great reel and indeed it has a monster drag. I just wanted to let pipho know that an Alphas could be used for pitching. Apologies to flippin4it if it was taken this way. Burley, you ain't right!! :) ;D None taken, it was just my opinion. ..I'm not soft skinned like a couple of people in here.......

Alphas for pitching?
If you set the hook and the fish is heavy cover, do you want 9lbs or 20+lbs of drag pressure.......I want a hard hookset and to turn the fish and keep him moving in my direction.

Any luck night fishing lately?
I have a strange feeling I will be in my boat, floating around Burke lake dragging the ole' c-rig around "the spot". Who is jumping in? Trevor, get your boat.
-
Alphas for pitching?
Not enough drag pressure. I would lean more to the Revo STX.

Any luck night fishing lately?
We need another midnight run. When is the full moon, we should meet up and get to it again. Some of the best fishing I have done has been by the light of the full moon.

Disappointed in the NOVA Members
So I was just in Giant and noticed how much produce, eggs and milk had gone up! Are you guys kidding me? What is all this nonsense about? Really, lets get down to "brass tacks". What is the exact issue? Someone not giving up a "honey hole"? WE ALL HAVE THEM AND ALWAYS WILL!!!! You just got to be able to catch it!!!! If you want something? Ask. If your prying for info? You did it wrong.

It was good, but not great....
ado124, great to see you again (where is my life jacket?). Slomoe, it was good to finally get to meet you... You and I need to hook up again. Wwe can bank fish or rip my boat out again. After I fixed ole' leaky, she was leak free this time.....

It was good, but not great....
Met up with ado124 and slomoe. I brought my Jon boat and ado124 had his kayak. slomoe and ado124 in the kayak and my buddy and I in mine. Conditions at launch seemed favorable, slight breeze and overcast for the most part. With in a hour, 25mph wind and blue bird sky....Thank you Mr Weatherman for your inaccurate forecast!! For my partner and I, once we located the fish catching them was easy. But because of the wind, there was times that you had a strike and had not clue. So we moved to the backs of coves and behind major points to get out of the wind. We managed 5 keepers and 4 dinks. My partner also kept track of how many missed.....12....... >. One 4lbs, two right at 3lbs and two in the mid 1 pound range. A 13 pound sack would'nt win a tourny, but it was still fun..........Other than the MF'n wind!
