  1. I have to work, but I might be able to get out of it. My co-worker thought I was kidding when I was sqweekin about missing the get together. He needs the money and is checking with his wife, he'll call me around 7 or 8 tonight and let me know if he can work for me. So keep your eyes open.
  2. Nice fish Ron!!!!!! Looks like Royal.
  3. Every graphite reel I have owned was clunky and far from smooth.
  4. Ghost, I own the 6'9 med with a parabolic bend. I'll just say it's very parabolic.
  5. I had a problem with a member of the forum about 2 years back. FBL and LBH might remember. We traded paint on the forum and even arranged a meeting to knock his teeth out. The moderators reminded me what "bass fishing" was about. I was ready to tell everyone to shove it. But that brings me back to why I come here and why I fish. I used to be out of control, just ask my wife. Biker bars, brawlin', Drag racing and drinkin'. Bass fishing provided me with what it took to calm down. I dig this forum, a lot. Ex-membering yourself without working it out is a pattern that will follow you through life. Hitting delete is quiting. Stand up for yourself and what you believe in. Don't sweat other people.
  6. I spent 2 hours in BPS over the winter sorting through all the choices and walked away with a BPS Pro Lite Finnese 7ft medium action. For $99 bucks this rod is balanced, light, sensitive and with nice backbone. I own 9 different brands of rods and this one rates right up there with my Kistlers, All Stars and Fenwicks . I also wound up buying the 7ft casting version too.
  7. I'm a huge fan of the Horny Toad. I let the fish tell me when. Try it and see. I have been on a mat, slop or lilly pads during what you would think to be prime time and not got a bite. Then on the other hand, I went over to the local pond during a cold and windy morning to try out a new Horny Toad style bait and crushed them.
  8. If you can't get the H20 baits, just stick with the X-rap.
  9. Thanks guys. Keep them coming.
  10. Anyone using them? A neighbor got some for Christmas and said he crushed them last week on these inline spinners. I have a couple but have yet to really give them a fair try.
  11. Andrew, you look weird holding a fish. I guess I'm just not used to it.
  12. PK, I just got off the phone with him. He said he was at the mouth of the cove thats close to the dam on the left if your facing the water. He said it was "short and sweet". He has pics on his cell.
  13. Oh and way to be a mook!
  14. LR, way to slip back in the saddle! As usual, great fish and story to boot. Been missing those. I need to come down there and check out some of your tackle. That combo looks incredible. I bought 5 Kistlers based on some of your posts made here and on both the the Kistler web page and TT. That looks to be a Evergreen or Megabass rod sporting a Pixy? is that correct? Someone mentioned that you go to a cigar forum. Can you recommend one? Thanks, Rob
  15. Congrats to a great start! How much did your sack weigh and did you catch a limit?
  16. Slomoe, very nice fish. That is what I'm talking about. Posting up solid keepers. PM me, I have a couple "Honey hole" locations to trade if interested........... I'll put you on your next PB.
  17. Matt, how did you do? I hear my buddy and his partner won it with a 26 pound sack! Now thats hard to beat. I hope you did well, I am unable to fish any tournaments due to a elbow injury. It will be awhile before I'll do any "seriuos" fishing. Would have liked to made the weigh in, but the "honey do" list was out of control. I refer to it as spring cleaning.
  18. I lived in the Moreno valley as a kid and was not into bass fishing then. I have always wondered if that was/is a good bass lake. Any input would be great.
  19. Kistler offers a 7'6 in the Graphite Special line. I have owned and own several Kistlers and love them all. I also own a Carrot Stix, but it is a crankin rod. So I can't coment in the flippin stick. As for the L&T by Diawa, three of my buddies own them. They are light, but as for tough I think they are a little weak. One rod had a defective reel seat and 2 broke. One broke right above the reel seat on a hook set. Good luck with your choice and keep us posted. Oh and buy the way. I love my Carrot Stix and will purchase many more.
  20. Simon, I'm glad to here about Andrew and his catch. He has been in a bit of a slump lately. I had fished the ponds behind Hayfield many years ago and never caught any size to speak of, have you caught any of size there? Talked with a neighbor and he said that he crushed them at Barton last week some time with a inline spinner called a Mangler. The color was white and chartreuse (go figure).
  21. Senko's, Fat Ika's, Spinnerbaits and top water baits seem to give me a good ratio of coverage for pond fishing.
  22. I'm rocking out 3 of the Johnny Morris JMP10H reels and I love them. I can only imagine the refinement made to the Elite reels. Nice review on the reel, keep us posted on the reels.
  23. Vekol, glad to see that your on them early. Drums is picking up a bass boat in the next few weeks and we will need some pointers. The boat will be kept at a marina in Aquia Creek. I'm looking forward to fishing with you again.
  24. I have a 6'9 med/parabolic and use it for sallow cranks, small jerks and when the topwater bite comes on I'll be using it for small poppers and spooks.
  25. Glad to see the Jacks Worm is paying off..........in mint that is!
