  1. I love the Carrot, but it's just not the action I need. Would be willing to trade for the one I want. I got a great deal on it, @ $105.00 I could'nt pass it up.
  2. For me it's the Combat SSR. I don't think they make it anymore. It's great for fishing over developing grass beds. It runs about 6-12 inches deep, but something about it makes it out produce any other shallow running crank. Chart w/blue back was the killer color for me.
  3. I tried the Carrot, It's a 6'9 med with a parabolic bend. I think I'm going to sell it. Don't get me wrong, it's a great rod but I wanted one that does not have a parabolic action.
  4. I own a 1963 Nova with a full roller 420cid small block backed by a Coan converter and a glide. It's you basic street/strip 10 inch tire car. Runs 10:60's on the motor through the mufflers and street tires. Now put 300hp NOS to it and it'll win your money on the street. Did I mention it looks like a total heap? For years I rode a 1977 Shovelhead, but gave that up for bass fishing....
  5. Matt, when you taking me fishing? LOL, My luck so far this year has been terrible. I bought a couple of Kistlers and a Carrot Stix I need to break in.
  6. 3 Green Curados new in the box for $125.00 from Wal-Mart. A brand new Carrot Stix for $105.00 from Daves Tournement Tackle. A Charlie swim bait for $.50 cents @ The Sports Authority. 4 3,000 yard spools of Triline XL for $10.01 each @ Dicks.
  7. Dan, I have the All American Pro Series C76. It's listed as a med/hvy, but it has some serious hook setting power. If we ever can hook up and fish together, you can try it out.
  8. Dominion Dan,I own a Grandt rod. It's a 7'6 flippin stick, it's got a soft tip. But man does it have a back bone. I c-rig, pitch and fish Horny Toads with it. Love them, if you buy a rod from them all your future rods come at a discounted rate too.
  9. I was looking at one of those this past saturday, but a Carrot Stix was able to wrestle me to the ground for $105.00 out the door. I'll be back for one though, it's the handle that I like. It's not just foam. Like Burley said, it's rough. I don't know how to explain it.
  10. Stocked up on minus 1's at Gander Mountian, 1.99 a piece. Bought a couple of Mann's tail draggers at 1.99 also. They also carry a nice selection of rods and keep them together by action, thus compairing rods of same length and action is way easier. My buddy and I were laughing about the Gander Mountian rods, Giving the Shimano Compre a run for the money at half the price. At Greentop, the baitmonkey went deep. I bought Kanami Flash in my favorite color (blk/blue fleck) bought 8 packs @1.99 a pack. Also hooked up on a great Wacky rigging bait made buy JDC Baits called the Bass Bone, I bought 23 packs at .99 cents a shot. I bought terminal tackle, finnesse worms and cranks to the tune of $250.00 in Greentop alone. Bought a E21 Carrot Stix at the show too at a vastly reduced price, that sucker is light! My total spent will never be printed..........LOL, THAT WOULD BE AN ADMISSION OF GUILT.
  11. Drums and I went yesterday and found it to be a disapointment. I'll just stick to Greentop.......
  12. You have seen me before, i'm one you'd remember. We rode next to each other during a tourny last summer. I'll fish a couple this year.
  13. I found that I crack under pressure, I don't stick with a bait or color long enough. It seems to get worse as the tourny wears on. This year will be more of a finesse presentation, my left elbow is killin me. My bread and butter pitchin' is out the window. I set up a apointment to get it checked by a sports medicine M.D. I hope it'll be ready to go.
  14. Matt, don't go off and get better at fishing. You'll be winning those Fountianhead tournies in no time and pocketing my money. I wish I had got serious about fish when I was young like you...
  15. What length, action and what technique will it be used for?
  16. I just got in from freezin' em off. Spent the last 5 hours dropshotting with my new set up. A BPS Pro lite finesse 7ft medium action matched with a Pflueger Supreme MG, spooled with 6lbs Sensation. While doodling with a hand warmer I almost had my rod ripped from my hands, fought the fish for about 15 seconds before it came unbuttoned. Brutal is the word that comes to mind. No other fish landed or even hooked for that matter.
  17. My word, thats a badazz lookin reel.
  18. Sam, I was told a couple of days ago that Shimano was not coming...... I hope what your saying is true, I would like to talk to the Shimano reps again.
  19. Don't you mean (Thats "reel" purdy)?
  20. I just bought the Supreme 8035 MGX and love it. I have it matched up with a BPS Prolite Finesse 7ft med. I have yet to fish with it, but it is light in the hand and well balanced.
  21. I have been using just the clips for the past year and love them. Ika's and Senko's alike benefit from the use of the clips. Just bought 5 more packs last Tuesday while in BPS. I have seen someone use a swivel in the same manner.
  22. Falcon makes the storage box your looking for.
  23. Last time out on Jan 1 I was catching them on shaky heads (3) and a c-rigged white fluke (1).

Slomoe, you and I need to hook up this spring and see if I can put you on your next PB.
