Are you currently using any Temu rods or reels?
“Oh look honey he has his life motto tattooed on himself” 🤣😆 I know I’m paraphrasing the movie line but having a daughter of my own it makes me laugh .

@bulldog1935 Although I’m not sure how comfortable those vampire grips are they sure do look cool in my opinion, but my favorite is still the green and black polka dotted pistol grip from I believe frog products. Feel free to correct me and share the photo if you remember what I’m referring to.- Sufix Revolve
@msgf91 Using braid on shallow spools is something you could spend a lot of time reading about on here from some real experienced members including but not limited to…on second thought I’ll not name anyone but the information on here is really well written out and pretty informative to me at least.- Sufix Revolve
So question for both of you, how do you like it just based on initial impressions? Is it smooth, and do you feel the diameter is correct without actually measuring it or does it seem they’re stating breaking strength but using larger than listed diameters? Again I don’t expect measurements and also @MickD what reel are you using the 10 pound on as most people tend to not recommend any braid under 30 pounds on a casting reel, and if you don’t mind sharing your initial impressions after casting it in the yard I for one would greatly appreciate your opinions.- Lews is taking Abu's spot.

Dang $263.00 is definitely a bit steep. I will add though that I personally do enjoy my Revo X 5 speed which only cost $99.99 msrp at the time.- Lews is taking Abu's spot.
@Sp33dSnake I’m going to agree with everything you said and I’ll add my first foray into bait casting reels was a low end Daiwa and then a Browning bait cast reel at least 20 years ago and I also almost also swore off bait casting reels. My current collection of casting reels includes a Daiwa CA80 bait cast reel that cost me around $70.00 shipped to my door that I really like and absolutely blows the previous 2 mentioned out of the water. I will also add the the Abu Black Max and probably the bottom line Lews today would also blow the aforementioned out of the water.- Rate the song above you
@12poundbass Thank you for replying as I was honestly asking as I wasn’t raised with any sort of farm animals. I follow a handful of Instagram accounts that raise and or rescue everything from farm animals of every variety to domestic animals from dogs, cats and even small mammals and cold blooded animals and have learned that horses are prey animals and as you said very rarely sleep laying down which I found absolutely fascinating and love learning about animal behavior.- Rate the song above you
@Motoboss I don’t personally have any sort of cattle and I don’t exactly live by many cattle farms but I pass enough of them in my daily work routine that I’m now going to be watching this season. Question for you, does the laying down theory work with horses also?- Lews is taking Abu's spot.
Although I don’t own the reel anymore I had a BPS Carbonlite 2.0 casting reel that I believe is based on the Lews LFS reel with dual brakes and a different color scheme. I had I believe 12 pound suffix 21 monofilament spooled on and had zero issues for a few years throwing small cranks and spinner baits mostly but I just couldn’t get comfortable with the ergonomics. Based on that reel alone I would have zero issues purchasing a Lews reel and if I come across a good price on a SLP model I may just pull the trigger.- Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
My favorite retention pond literally just thawed completely yesterday so I’m hoping to stop next week. It was crazy yesterday seeing the Saganashkee Slough in Lemont thawed out on the west side while the east end was still completely covered in ice. If I wasn’t in my work truck I would’ve stopped for a photo.- Coping with chronic heart ache ~

- Rod socks- need reccos
@FrnkNsteen I had the same issue with the rod tips and took enough rubber tubing sliced to be a flat square about 2”x2” and just used the house stapler on each end catching just the edge of the mesh and it works pretty well.- I received a free GLX rod in the mail today…
@FryDog62 For what it’s worth I feel you did the right thing also, regardless of the store.- Lew's Speed Spool Gen 3 Casting Reel
I don’t know if you’re opposed to ordering from Bass Pro Shops but they are showing the LFS in stock in your preferred ratio and right hand retrieve.- Intestinal blockage
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers today @Catt- Reel/Line for an Orochi XX jerkbait special?
@bulldog1935 Has one that he’s used a couple seasons so maybe he’ll chime in.- Snagged a lost rod and reel
@QuirkyCarp2000 After you choose your photo/photos click in the lower right corner of the screen and it will allow you to change the size of your photo/photos from large to medium or small and then you can select add from the upper right corner.- Seviin GX spinning reel?
Well I certainly don’t have any experience with the reel but good grief I don’t think you’re going to go wrong with any reel in the $150.00 plus price range for $48.00. I mean seriously even if you wind up hating it within the first couple of months you can sell it for 1/2 the retail and still be money ahead. Seriously if you buy it and absolutely hate it personal message me and maybe we can work out a deal as I’m currently trying to find a spinning reel and I love the 1000 sized reels.- What are your favorite Bladed Jig trailers and what conditions do you fish them?
I generally don’t use a trailer at all myself, although I generally fish smaller bodies of water and use a mini max in 1/8 ounce.- Daiwa Tatula or St. Croix Premier Spinning (or Screw it and get the Tatula XT)
Have you sold that particular rod yet? Also is it listed on the flea market here as I may be interested.- Daiwa Tatula or St. Croix Premier Spinning (or Screw it and get the Tatula XT)
As far as I can tell there’s a lot of “men” who feel the need to over tighten the reel seat/nut on a lot of fishing rods as this seems to be a pretty common theme in a heck of a lot of rod brands. I personally have a Abu Garcia reel that that the reel stem doesn’t like to fit into quite a few of my spinning rods but instead of over tightening I made a shim out of some scrap metal I had laying around and I know at least one of our members on here has pointed out that you can buy plastic shims for the same purpose. Don’t gorilla the reel nut.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I for one cannot wait to hear how they work out. - Lews is taking Abu's spot.
