- Thanksgiving 2020
Happy and blessed Thanksgiving to all of you. Due to the pandemic there won’t be any get together for our family this year. My wife and I are going to pack a turkey sandwich and spend the day on Table Rock Lake.- Help me out smallie guys
Blue I’m more than 20 miles above Pt 10. They show up in pretty good numbers in the winter but are awol the rest of the time. I guess I will have to start fishing more of that gravely stuff and see if they are hanging around it.- Need opinion
With the Ulterra you may not need the poles. I got rid of mine after I got the Ulterra.- Help me out smallie guys
I am fishing on Table Rock lake. It is a 40,000 plus acre lake with 1000 miles of shoreline. I am fishing in the upper James River arm 40 to 50 miles from the dam. I fish a 5 to 10 mile stretch several several times per year. I catch lmb and spots regularly. There is a river channel with gravel roll offs, standing timber along the channel, and lots of chunk rock and bluffs. The deepest water is around 30’. I normally fish the bluff sides with jigs, worms, and Ned. I haven’t seen a smallmouth in months. I rarely catch any until December through March. Do they migrate and are just some place else or am I not looking in the right place? Any insights will be appreciated. Thanks.- A few visitors this week
What do her off spring look like?- How often to retie braid
Rarely do I retie braid. I use it for vertical fishing and ARigs. I have it on at least 7 setups.- Preference on number of jig strands
I make my jigs by how I want them to fall. I use anywhere from 40 to 80 strands.- Storing ammo
- Snap Swivel/Hand Tremors
I also suggest a snap instead of a snap swivel (less parts to fail).- When There's Fog
Fog can occur in any season. It happens when the temperature and dew point get close together. I find it lots of times on the upper James River arm of Table Rock Lake.- My largest buck so far
Nice one for sure.- FC or braid
I use braid in 50# for Arigs and 8# for deep vertical fishing. Everything else is fluorocarbon from 6# to 15#.- Getting my first A-Rig. Please school me on them!
I use more than one color most of the time.- Getting my first A-Rig. Please school me on them!
It is easy to get it too heavy. I use 1/16 and 1/8 oz heads with 4/0 hook. I like flukes on mine.- Double fluke rig
If it bothers you, put a bead on the line.- Your 8:1:1 Bait Cast Reel Applications ?
Everything except spinner baits. For those I use my 7s.- Cold Weather Gear - Fishing
I’ve had several pairs. The ones I wear now are the warmest ones I have ever had. They are down bibs from Duluth Trading Co. I have been using them for at least 10 years now. I would buy another pair in a heart beat.- Trolling motor battery reccomemdations
What ever series size you buy get the highest reserve capacity that you can. That is what gives you time on the water.- Spinner bait making update...
So what is your question?- 24v vs 36v
Good for you. You can’t have too much trolling motor power.- Shimano Symetre, Gone?
I’m not sure how many Symmetrys I have but it is around 10 sizes 1000, 2000, and 2500. They date back to around 20 years. I haven’t had the lock up problems that I have read about. I also have Sedonas, Saharas, and Stradics but Symmetrys are my go to. I’m glad I have several.- 24v vs 36v
I think you should go for the 101# 36 volt and be set. If you need space agm batteries don’t have to be mounted in the traditional way. Good luck.- White Bass in really cold water
When it is that cold I will use a jigging spoon. I’ve caught them to 65’ in the winter.- A Rig questions.
You can go many ways. My least favorite is the 3 wire. I like putting willow leaf blades on the top 2 wires. One of the guys who fishes with me uses the two hookless baits. You just have to decide what you want and give it a try. - Thanksgiving 2020
