  1. I assume you have Lowrance electronics since you are talking Power Poles instead of Talons. Color wise black for me.
  2. I tend to split evenly quite often. If I were to go higher it would be the rod.
  3. I fish in lots of rocks. For me the football doesn’t get hung up as often or as bad as the arky.
  4. Fishing with my grandson I hooked a smallie. It jumped and threw the bait. I reeled in the jig with the trailer missing. A short time later my grandson boated a smallie. It spit my trailer out onto the boat deck.
  5. When I used that slow to tie rascal 7 wraps were commonly accepted. I haven’t used it since I discovered the Pitzen a long time ago.
  6. Those can be good times. When we lived in the country and had a 24x40 out building I used to have guys from neighboring towns come out to pour and tie. There was always something to learn.
  7. I have caught a lot of crappie on them. My favorite is the spring cricket.
  8. It was foggy and I only got to fish 3 hours but managed 14 on various baits. Most of them on Zeros.
  9. We are skipping the traditional gathering so tomorrow my wife and I are going to pack a turkey lunch and head to Table Rock Lake for the day.

  11. Happy and blessed Thanksgiving to all of you. Due to the pandemic there won’t be any get together for our family this year. My wife and I are going to pack a turkey sandwich and spend the day on Table Rock Lake.
  12. Blue I’m more than 20 miles above Pt 10. They show up in pretty good numbers in the winter but are awol the rest of the time. I guess I will have to start fishing more of that gravely stuff and see if they are hanging around it.
  13. With the Ulterra you may not need the poles. I got rid of mine after I got the Ulterra.
  14. I am fishing on Table Rock lake. It is a 40,000 plus acre lake with 1000 miles of shoreline. I am fishing in the upper James River arm 40 to 50 miles from the dam. I fish a 5 to 10 mile stretch several several times per year. I catch lmb and spots regularly. There is a river channel with gravel roll offs, standing timber along the channel, and lots of chunk rock and bluffs. The deepest water is around 30’. I normally fish the bluff sides with jigs, worms, and Ned. I haven’t seen a smallmouth in months. I rarely catch any until December through March. Do they migrate and are just some place else or am I not looking in the right place? Any insights will be appreciated. Thanks.
  15. What do her off spring look like?
  16. Rarely do I retie braid. I use it for vertical fishing and ARigs. I have it on at least 7 setups.
  17. I make my jigs by how I want them to fall. I use anywhere from 40 to 80 strands.
  18. I also suggest a snap instead of a snap swivel (less parts to fail).
  19. Fog can occur in any season. It happens when the temperature and dew point get close together. I find it lots of times on the upper James River arm of Table Rock Lake.
  20. Nice one for sure.
  21. I use braid in 50# for Arigs and 8# for deep vertical fishing. Everything else is fluorocarbon from 6# to 15#.
  22. I use more than one color most of the time.
  23. It is easy to get it too heavy. I use 1/16 and 1/8 oz heads with 4/0 hook. I like flukes on mine.
  24. If it bothers you, put a bead on the line.
