Is powder paint the best, or vinyl, etc. I think powder is the only way to go. You can bake them or not. If you want the paint to last a long time then bake them. All you need for that is a cheap toaster oven. I got mine for $5 in a garage sale. You will also need to put pins in the holes and glue the weedguard in after the heads are painted. I even wait till the skirts are on before adding the weedguard. I would like to hand tie the jigs rather than use a skirt collar, so what do i need to do this? You need a couple of pairs of pliers and some copper wire. I also read that hard lead is harder to use than soft lead. Lead with alloys like antimony are harder and need higher temps to melt. They also need a good fluxing if you want smooth pours on the heads. If you really get into this and powder paint you will be wanting a fluid bed before long.

I've tried a lot and Pro Guide 200 reserve amp batteries give my 4 years and are still going strong when I give them away to one of my cheap friends.

I throw the spook and the spook junior. They both catch fish for me. I like the junior a lot but can't cast it as far as the regular spook.

I'm not like some of the mods on here. I am a poor boy. I have both the 844 and 843 in the IMX version. I would only trade them for a new sonar or trolling motor. ;D

I'd try bending them back and see how it goes. If it looks ok then add some epoxy, if not then have them replaced.

The only way I have ever winterized anything is to add some stabilizer to the gasoline. Since I have a Merc I use their product. I do change the lower unit fluid in June and December. And once per year I put on a new water seperating fuel filter. I have heard that you really don't need to keep the tank full of gasoline with todays tanks because there won't be condensation but I don't know that for a fact.

I use them any time I am in Texas.

I am not sold on their jerks. I have a bunch of them and the Rapala Xraps sent them to the bottom of the box last winter.

It is all the equipment that it takes for all the situations.

A couple of options for you depending on what highly detailed means to you: buy a mold similar to what you want and modify it with a Dremel tool, or buy a blank mold from Do-It and make your own mold or have a machinist make one for you from the blank.

Things really must be different in the SE. We have spots, smallies and largemouth in all of our lakes. The spots haven't increased near like the smallmouth in the last decade or so. In fact Table Rock is the only lake with a really good spot population.

I fish quite a few tubes and use spinning gear most of the time. I use 4" tubes with 1/8 and 1/4 oz inserts. For the 1/8 oz I use a Gloomis 6.6' MF For the 1/4 oz I use a St. Croix 6.6' MF

You are right Cart. I'm afraid that Champion is doomed to oblivion if not sold. It has hit into the Ranger market for several years eventhough their budget was threadbare.

I talked with a former Genmar company president yesterday. He feels that this is an Irwin takeover and we'll see one of the major lines go away while Stratos and Ranger will stay.

That breaks my heart. Is he still a contender for buying them out?

If you fish hard and where it is windy you better get the 27 series batteries. Get the most reserve amps you can buy (180-200).

Aluminum: lighter weight, smaller engine can push, hard to position and keep in place in wind or current, most have a rough ride. Fiberglass: heavier, need more hp, lost easier to control, much smoother ride, lots more stable fishing platform. That said if you buy aluminum and want to get as close to glass as possible in the ride, get an Xpress. However, you will still have the unstable fishing platform, movement and control problems when the wind blows.

If you know a good wrench turner, a rebuild would be your least expensive way to go. A friend of mine just had a 200 EFI bored .015 and it is running like a charm. His total outlay was $3000.

Contrary to what has been stated some trailers need to be glued depending on the type of trailer and the configuration of the jig head. If you want them to hold and have the application be painless and never messy, use super glue gel.
