Spinning rods, guides, braid to leader knot
I have St Croix, Gloomis, and Fenwick spinning rods rigged with 15# braid and 10-12# fluorocarbon leaders. They all work just fine. I have tried many connecting knots. The fg is the strongest and thinnest one that I have ever tried.

Nitro z20 battery issue
So you are using 2 batteries as cranking at the same time? Is that correct? Are they connected parallel to each other? What amp hour are they and how many reserve minutes? I have been down that same rocky road that you are on. Mine was with Lowrance units and blue tops. Then H bird units and interstates.

Need help on a line setup for smallmouth
We don’t have smallmouth like A-Jay has. We have highland reservoirs. When I am using bottom contact baits like shaky and jigs I use 12# fluorocarbon line. For non bottom baits I use braided line with a fluorocarbon leader.

Owner Flashy Swimmer for Keitech Swing Impact FAT ?
I use them a lot but only on a bare jig head. Do you guys do better with a blade vs no blade. If so what about a Pony head with a willow blade? Just thinking.

Meals and Recipes
SMOKED WHOLE CHICKEN I bought a 5.5 lb never frozen chicken at Walmart. I picked up a couple of roasting ears and a cucumber. I had fresh tomatoes in my garden. I washed the chicken and patted it dry. Then I sprayed it with olive oil and covered it with a dry rub. I put it in the smoker at 225° and cooked it to 157° (about 4 hours). The corn was cut through the husks to the cob then cooked for 6 minutes in the microwave. When done you can hold the end of the cob and with a mitt slide the husks and silk completely off. The chicken was moist and tender. We ate half of it tonight and will have the other half later. I used a little barbecue sauce with mine. COST chicken $6.88 corn $1.00 cucumber 1.00 Total. $8.88 with half a chicken left over.

Pro Staffs
I didn’t notice that or I would not have posted.

Pro Staffs
If you get an offer be sure you understand everything that it entails. I know some guys who got boats at cost and didn’t have to pay right away, which sounds great. The catch was they were delivered a new boat one year later and payment was due immediately on the first boat. The first boat was their problem. I knew a guy who had 3 pro staff boats, was making payments on the first 2 and had no prospective buyers. My point is know what you are getting into.

Pro Staffs
There are lots of levels of pro staffers. They can be anywhere from a shirt and a few baits to getting a boat at cost. It depends on the company and what you are willing to do for them.

A-Rigs… do I need to try one?
I’ve been using and making them since they first came out. I used to fish them a lot but over time I have fished them less and less. If the fish are on them it is great, if not it becomes a drudgery so I put it down and pick up something fun.

Ways to make a 36 volt system
Why not just use a 36 volt lithium?

what time is it? Watch Talk.
I haven’t worn a watch in a long time. My wife has 8 clocks in the house. My phone and truck show the time as well as the Humminbirds in my boat. I can get the time instantly if I want it, even though I can’t tell you the day of the week or day of the month.

Spooky, mysterious question: Do you ever know....
No I don’t think I have. I rarely fish top water because they don’t work well where I fish. I mainly fish bottom contact baits and swim baits. I need and use custom rods that have great sensitivity and can let me feel even the slightest change in a bait weight or action.

Hey there Swamp Girl
We just got home from your beautiful state. It was my 50th of the 50. We went to most of listed spots. They were great. I didn’t know what to expect. There are 10000 picture post card spots. We covered the coast, then went out on the water and finally inland. There are so many beautiful places. Thanks for the suggestions.

Fishing reels
If you don’t need the extra line that the 3000 takes get the 2500. The only difference between them is the spool. The frames are the same.

Impact of scent on bass
I have tried it both ways and never have seen any difference. I make a lot of my own plastics and don’t use any scent.

I put lures on sabbatical. Do you?
I do not. I see no need for that. The impoundments that I fish range from 25,000 acres to 54,000 acres having from a few hundred to over 1,000 miles of shoreline. One of my favorite feeder creeks has dozens of coves containing hundreds of cedar trees and is close to 2 miles long. During a normal day I will travel 6-10 miles to fish different places. Where I live there are lakes in all directions within an hour’s drive. Some offer black bass only while others have musky, stripers, or hybrids.

Boat Cover: OEM vs Custom
I have a Dowco for my boat. The poles are only necessary for outdoor storage. It works great going down the road. You might find a custom cover maker who can make you one without the boat being present.

I just ordered polarized prescription sunglasses at the shop where my optometrist is. I wanted progressive lenses and have had to have them redone in the past so I was leery of going online.

Best Bass Lures Per Season
I believe it is going to be regional. What is good for me may not work north or south of me. I am not locked into any bait or method. I use whatever I can get them to bite. The last few years a ZinkerZ fished shaky would work all the time. This year I went for months without a bite on it. The one year around bait for me is the jig. However even that has changed. This year finesse jigs are all that have worked, especially in 3/16 oz.

Need Some Help with Boat Selection
I suggest that you go to a dealer and tell them what you want to do and let them tell you what options might be available for you or call the boat manufacturer and ask them.
