Dual Pro charger not working
I had an older Dual Pro charger that one bank went on the fritz. I called Dual Pro seeking advice. Their advice was to order a new one from them at a significant discount.

Does rod weight matter to you??
Balance is more important to me than weight. I’ve moved into the custom world. My rod builders choose the blank and components to fit with the weight of the reel that will be mounted on a specific rod. So far so good.

Log/branch in the water - What is the correct protocol for a hazard like this ?
Me nothing, because we get hundreds of them coming down the James River arm of Table Rock Lake every time we get a big rain.

Wind knots
You can “feather” the line with your finger as the bait reaches the water. That will reduce the possibility of loose line on the spool, then keep your finger on the spool as you close the bail by hand not with the reel and be sure to look at the spool before you begin your retrieve. That done over and over will be engrained in your procedure. You should eliminate the knot issue.

Making Weighted Wacky Jig Heads ?
Allen is spot on about wheel weights. They contain all kinds of stuff that are not good for you. Some contain zinc which can damage your pot. If you can’t get lead locally, lots of jig makers buy from RotoMetals. They have more than one type of lead.

Making Weighted Wacky Jig Heads ?
I don’t make them but it looks like they may take a special hook. You can get sevalon or surflon coated wire in any size you want. If the area isn’t rocky or snaggy you might want 45# test or you could go to 60# or even 90#. I use all three. As for lead just use what you have or can easily get.

Oh man! Can you imagine one of these babies strapped on the back of your boat?
I have no idea where I could find a mechanic who knows how to work on one. The techs around here are Merc factory trained, besides I run a 250 already.

Tomato sandwich
On a side note: I fixed crappie last night and sliced and fried 4 green tomatoes. They were yummy.

Setups tangling
I am very particular about how I lay mine down I stagger them and make sure the tips are separated. I can easily have 4 per side. They are checked and strapped down before I move the boat. I rarely have them tangled. One of my fishing buddies piles his up on both sides. He almost always has them tangled.

Tomato sandwich
They are some of my favorites. We’ve been getting ripe ones since mid June. I have a couple of ladies who start them for in their greenhouse. I plant them as soon as the last frost date.

Split ring vs snaps
I don’t mind both. I think they increase the wobble. I use snaps (very good heavy duty) on spinnerbaits, jerk baits, cranks and spoons. Mine have never come open. Sometimes I have to use pliers to open and close them.

What gives bass their color?
I would like to know more. My research is getting me nowhere. Can you post some links?

boat is totaled
Well it was as you figured when we connected last week. I am sorry that it is totaled. If I see anything that I think you might be interested in I will let you know. I assume that you want a 20’. Single or double console? A lot of times my 20’ sled is barely enough to be out there with all of the ski boats, wake boats, surf boats and 500+ boat tournaments.

White River Marine has also done it in some plants like Tracker, Triton and Ranger. I haven’t heard anything about Nitro yet.

I’m not sure you can get a setup for that money that will be easy for a beginner. Good luck.
