  1. Send it to Delaware Valley Tackle and have him fix it right.
  2. I quit using it when I learned the Pitzen which for me is easier to do, faster to tie and stronger.
  3. It’s hard to tell from the picture. I only own Shimano reels and even in the same model using the same line they don’t always take the same amount of line for optimal performance even on matching rods. Casting over looking will give you the answer.
  4. Yes. I use a 10# fluorocarbon leader.
  5. I use 15# braid on a 2500 and 3000 reels. The 3000 is overkill for me.
  6. I can only do half. That’s the slender knot. I have used many knots for braid to fluorocarbon lines. The skinniest one I’ve used is the FG. It isn’t quick for me but I’ve never had it break at tie knot.
  7. Is there a site somewhere that I can find values for old warts?
  8. Ugly colors yes because they will wind up brown. With softner added they won’t be stiff.
  9. https://www.marinevinylfabric.com/blogs/marine-vinyl-blog/how-to-clean-marine-vinyl-fabric?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-ai0BhDPARIsAB6hmP4ATihtSEAuFTObR0PSZlFsDR0hZGhSeAcKko1BFyz1e-32wi4_3zoaAlWFEALw_wcB
  10. I can’t speak for the Daiwas but I have Shimano Stradics in 2500 and 3000. There is a big difference in line capacity.
  11. I have more setups than I can handle so I’m not gonna get any more. I don’t go for the latest and greatest new bait. I make most of my stuff including jigs and many plastics. I have not been successful making a swim bait like the Keitech so I buy them (a couple of years worth at a time). I also can not copy Elaztech so I make major purchases of several dozen packs at once. I buy my hooks by the thousand when I can get them but never less than 100 at a time.
  12. Good for you. You didn’t mention baits. When we fish for smallmouth we find Ned rigs and Jewell Pee Wee jigs to be very effective.
  13. On my Solix units I had to go into the menu and tell them what card was in them. I assume that you will have to do the same with the Helix. I like my Hbird lake master charts. They seem pretty accurate to me. I have no experience with Garmin.
  14. Just be sure to look for heat shrink tubing. Shrink wrap is a whole different thing.
  15. I use heat shrink tubing for lots of things but haven’t tried it like that. It also works as a trailer hook keeper. I think you are on to something there.
  16. When we had a 5th wheeler and did a lot of traveling we were on several sites for that kind of recreation. One thing that they had in common was never go anywhere on 7 year old tires no matter how many miles were on them or how they looked.
  17. I really think that the area controls the depth. I see on here guys talking about 15-20’ depth. On our highland reservoirs I do from 30’ on out and have caught many over 60’ deep. Right now I know a couple of guys fishing 60-80’ deep for spots and walleye.
  18. I’m not an expert by any stretch of the imagination but it looks like it to me. We don’t normally see them in less than 30 fow.
  19. In a pinch away from home I have used carpet tacks.
  20. That’s a great story. The beginning of a jigger.😏
  21. My guess is the shape weight and material of the boat is the cause.
  22. You better check schematics to be sure what’s under that deck. I paid for one and they cut all of my boat wiring.
  23. You have good info here. One thing I would add is learn to run it with either foot so you won’t have to be a contortionist while fishing.
  24. I have never had braid digging in on any reel. I use 10# mono backing with tape over the splice knot. I don’t do any thing special when spooling it. My braid of choice is Power Pro which I use in several sizes.
  25. I haven’t seen many videos about that. Personally I haven’t found June bug to be a very good color. One of my fishing buddies uses it quite often but his success rate hasn’t made me put one on more than a couple of times.
