Who’s fired up for spring pike fishing?
I used to like pike fishing. They were stocked locally but when they go to around 15# they died off.

Maine guys
We are planning a non fishing vacation to your state this fall. The actual schedule is yet to be determined. We would like to take advantage of some fall color. We plan to fly in to Portland, rent a car and make our way up the cost. When would you suggest that we come? What are some “you have to see places”? Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Do the Lead and Phthalates in Baits Concern You?
None but I do see more since I got the third eye.

Do the Lead and Phthalates in Baits Concern You?
I’ve been pouring lead jigs probably since before you were born. I have seen no ill effects. In fact I need to go pour some Ned and Shaky heads before the next trip.

Bass pro spring classic sale
That’s typical with them, especially on name brand items (like we don’t know what they cost).

FG v. Alberto - Interference through spinning guides......??
I’ve used both. The fg is smaller in diameter and stronger. I use 15# braid with 8 and 10# leader. I use a 7-12’ leader so I can get some reties when I break off baits. This is on 1000, 2000, 2500 and 3000 size spools.

Braided line connection to fluoro leader
I’ve tried a lot of braid to leader knots. The only one to never fail is the fg. It also seems to be the smallest in diameter.

Shimano Stradic 2500 vs 3000
Just eyeballing them they looked alike and both fit both frames. I don’t think I will ever need the larger capacity spool. Thanks. I will check out your link.

Shimano Stradic 2500 vs 3000
I just purchased a 2500 HGFL and a 3000 XGFL at the Tackle Warehouse sale. I want to get extra spools. The 3000 holds way too much line. It looks to me like the spools are interchangeable. Are they?

Moto Stop vs. Transom Saver
I had lock and haul on my Champion with 225 Merc. It was pulled all over for 14 years with no problems. I have my wedge on my 250 Verago. It’s been going for 7 years with no issues.

Who's Going To The Classic Tulsa?
I’ve been to tournament weigh ins in Texas where the event was held in a town in an arena. The boats were pulled in and stopped at the weigh in station to unload the fish. Then they pulled forward to allow the next boat to do the same. It took forever. On a side note, my old boss provided a pontoon release boat for a regional series. He was short handed one weekend and borrowed one of my salesmen to help him. The guy came in to work the next week with horror stories about how many dead fish they had.

You can bet they are.

Lithium battery question
The issue had to do with charging sequence lights. Both the distributor and MK said that battery would be fine on the agm setting. I am waiting for the new charger just to be on the safe side.

Lithium battery question
I just had a lithium battery installed for a house battery to run some electronics. The battery company said use a 10 amp charger. I have a MK single 10 amp Precision. It is working on the agm setting but when monitored by the electronic guy he thought it wasn’t functioning 100% so he called MK. They recommended getting a new charger.

Who's Going To The Classic Tulsa?
How far is the weigh in Tulsa from the lake? It looks like quite a ways to be hauling fish around in a live well.

6th sense hooks
Thanks for the heads up. When they cleared out my favorite fluorocarbon I drove to 5 different ones and cleaned them out.

It's been a while . . . how about some knot talk!
I’m not too particular as long as the leader is longer than the rod.

It's been a while . . . how about some knot talk!
I am using 15# braid with 8# fluorocarbon leader. It’s working fine but I don’t tie it in the boat.

It's been a while . . . how about some knot talk!
I have used the Pitzen for over 20 years. One of my friends uses the palomar. I can tie the Pitzen and make a cast or two while he is tying his knot. On line to line I have settled on the FG. It has never broken at the knot and all of the others have.
