  1. 69 so far 2 times for crappie 1 time for white bass
  2. X2 We us them on bare jigs all the time. They are great for smallmouth and spots around here.
  3. If I didn’t keep my stuff in labeled boxes I would never be able to find anything.
  4. Most of today’s plastic baits are basically made from some pvc compound and so are the storage boxes. They store safely in the boxes except those made of Elaztech. Elaztech baits can destroy pvc boxes and baits.
  5. Same here. I have a Nitro Z20.
  6. Have you tried using vice grips? I’ve used them to hold hooks and put the grips in a bench vise. Not the best but functional for a few jigs.
  7. We probably have seen each other on the water. I am there once or twice every week.
  8. I am using 60# surflon in mine. I mold them with 19 ga wire in them then pull it after the powder paint is cured and glue in the surflon. It working fine.
  9. I bought some jigs and used my dial calipers to get measurements and compared them to the measurements listed by Barlow’s. The Mustad was the closest. I’m guessing they have the hooks custom made. I can’t find 7/16 and 5/16 molds so I am modifying 1/2 and 3/8 oz football jigs. What are you using for weedguard?
  10. I’m doing the same thing. Pee Wee uses a 2/0 hook instead of a #2. It is very similar to the Mustad 32500BN sickle hook. I’m making my version of bass whacker and hail Mary. There’s are in the bottom row and mine are in the top row.
  11. I didn’t get to try it last fall because Nitro had my boat in the factory. So I don’t know about last fall but up until then it was a good fall and winter bait. I will keep it tied on and use it sparingly until I see if it gets to working. How far down the James do you live? I normally stay above Butter Milk Springs.
  12. Today I used jigs shaky and Ned. No jig fish at all, no morning Ned fish, 17 shaky fish with Ned bites in the mid day. 3 Ned fish so that’s a start.
  13. Walleye, crappie or white bass so I could eat them.
  14. That’s an awfully big jig for such a small hook. What are you trying to accomplish?
  15. We fish highland reservoirs in MO and Northern AR. Ned has been a good producer in the fall and winter. We’ve been on Table Rock lake in the upper James River which is large mouth county, upper White River which is spotted bass country and lower Beaver lake in AR where smallmouth are predominant. Shaky and jigs are working but Ned is terrible. Most of our fish are coming on very rocky areas. If it is working for you, what kind of water are you fishing.
  16. Full cork covered with shrink tubing.
  17. So what are you floating? Several floaters hang around Phil Lillies Ozark Anglers site.
  18. I guess hammer because with projects my motto is beat it to fit then paint it to match!!
  19. I’m kind of a jig guy. I like to keep mine readily available and easy to see and choose so I like clear plastic boxes. The jigs producing best right now are the Jewell Pee Wee so I have them separated from others. The back row are store bought and the front are home made knockoffs.
  20. I use the same reels for top water that I use for Arigs, Shimano Curado 5:1. I do go to mh rods for top water.
  21. I only have one keep putting 1000 bass in the boat.
  22. I didn’t notice anyone addressing the shaft. You better keep a sharp eye out for lower unit leaks if you don’t replace it. If you have insurance you probably have enough for a claim unless your deductible is high.
  23. Allen that color looks to me like motor oil with some pumpkin seed added.
  24. Jigs…8 or 10 sizes in 20 or more color combinations Shaky…6 jig head sizes with 15 or more Elaztech colors Keitech swim baits…8 colors in 4 sizes with jig heads in 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 Ned…6 head weights with 22 colors of TRDs Crankbaits… wiggle warts, rock crawlers Top waters… Zara Spooks mostly
  25. I like to stay an hour or less from home. I have lakes almost every direction from my house within that radius. Pomme de Terre 15000+ acres 75 miles Stockton 26000+ acres 50 miles Bull Shoals 40000+ acres 65 miles Table Rock 40000+ acres 32 miles Beaver Lake 40000+ acres 70 miles There are some smaller lakes but they have motor restrictions so I can’t launch at them. They all have largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass. Walleye, stripers, hybrids and musky are also in some of them. Our lakes are over run with tournaments which I believe is harming them but there is too much money involved for change to occur in the near future.
