Mowing...hate it or love it
I like it. I just wish I wasn’t the only one who didn’t like dandelions.

G. Loomis Comparisons
I have broken a couple and they would not let me deviate from what I had.

Help me pick a trolling motor
I agree with your logic. A one network boat is the way to go. I have an Ulterra. I had to go that route because of my back. I had Lowrance units. They were not compatible with it. $7,000 later I got there with birds. I don’t know anything about Minn Kota except for mine but I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

Best knot for mono backing to fluoro?
That far down any knot will do as you aren’t apt to get to it. Tie the knot and put a piece of tape on it.

Dedicated Electronics Battery - Help
I changed but that didn’t help.

How to graph a small lake with trees
Read your manual. Surely Lowrance still has it.

How to graph a small lake with trees
The first thing I would do is cover the area again and do a recording. Then I would pull off some place quiet and study the recording. I can find a lot more interesting places when I am sitting watching the recording. That is how I survey places. As I watch the recording, I can mark waypoints as needed.

What's your FAVORITE rod in your arsenal?
Right now my favorite is my custom 7 1/2’ shaky rod. It has better feel than my Gloomis rods.

Aches and Pains
A knee surgery (long time runner) took standing up to fish out of the picture. 4 hand surgeries plus occasional cortisone shots keeps me being able to grip my rods. Bad back couldn’t deploy and stow the trolling motor. An Ulterra took care of that. Two acetaminophen before leaving home and two more every 6 hours keeps my back going. Otherwise everything is fine. By the way you two are just kids.

How long does braid last on a reel?
I have some Power Pro that’s been on for years.

I need help ordering my new boat please!
You really need to spend a lot of time in a dealership inside of a boat. You need to do research on electronics, motors and trolling motors. All of us have opinions based on our experiences or lack there of. For example several items mentioned are for me must haves and several I’ve had and were a waist of money. Only your research and questioning will get you where you need to be.

Glass beads. Red glass beads.
I got mine at Walmart.

Trolling motor advice
AJ and Tom have offered sound advice. A 24 will give you more power with less amps drawn and less heat generated. It should have more than double the run time of a 12v.

Is everyone buying into this lie?
Brunswick is supposed to be getting into lithiums. I don’t have any particulars on that but if American made I might consider a switch as I have 6 31s in the boat.

Horsepower limit on Tracker boat.
There are exceptions to that. There are dealerships which handle Tracker Marine products and are not part of the White River conglomerate.

Is everyone buying into this lie?
I may take a look at lithiums when they don’t come from China.

First bass on a DIY jig
Look out. I can see 10,000 home made baits in your future. It will be jigs. You will need at least 10 different molds. Then spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. Next you will want custom plastics and a whole new world awaits you. There is no end. WELCOM ABOARD. I’ve been doing it a long time and just keep adding to me stash.

Your Unicorn Casting Rod
I carry 13 bc setups. Almost every one is technique specific. Four of them are noncurrent Gloomis rods and I’d hate to be without any of them. The one that would break my heart is a custom shaky rod that I had built last year.

Dedicated Electronics Battery - Help
I am running 2 Humminbird units on an agm battery. In two years they have killed them grave yard dead. I have recently switched brands.

Traditional Ned Rig, whose given up and now just fishes Ned sized baits
VMC. He sent me some to try out. They’re pretty good. I’m using the new Victory hook. It’s also pretty good.

Livewell with a plug in bottom and no aerator
The brand of boat makes a difference. My old Champion 206 would overflow if I closed the live well and kept the aerator on. My Nitro Z20 doesn’t.

Traditional Ned Rig, whose given up and now just fishes Ned sized baits
I make my own so I have lots of options.
