  1. That is trout food for the kids. You get it wet roll it in a ball and put it on the hook. Works well
  2. @Smells like fish you have to reel it in at warp 10 to get it to work well. Probably work in the right circumstance. Someone said the Vatalion was good...so yeah, got that one. Got the terminators just for the blades. If anyone has more, let me know. And HOLY CRAP - the 8" punker is monstrous. I put it next to a Zara spook for comparison.
  3. So I still have a few things coming in the mail but the past week I added some things to the arsenal. The Bio Gills are @Bluebasser86 'a fault. The stupid Jackall 007 is @Smells like fish 's fault. Apparently I upload too many pictures and need to delete some...oops
  4. If you can't tear it down, clean it, relube it and put it back together find someone local to do it or contact DVT on this site.
  5. After throwing the 50 size for a bit I realize it's not really very big at all. The 30 size must be like a popper.
  6. My advice would be to message Sieberts and see if he could make some for you.
  7. The top 3 options are probably the Daiwa Lexa, 300 or 400 size, Shimano Tranx 300 or 400 size, or the Revo Toro beast. I mostly run Lexas and are happy with those but I would recommend going to a shop and putting them in your hands. I have found the 300 size is more than sufficient and better for chucking bug baits all day.
  8. Here is a picture I drew to help put a graphic to what I am talking about.
  9. Ok - so I have been contemplating making my own spinnerbaits. First off, I dont have any of the supplies but I have been looking through the net craft catalog. I realize I could make my own from the premade forms with heads on them but i would really like to pour my own for fun. I have wire tied skirts in the past and have a bunch of blades kicking around. Has anyone tried pouring a head and rather than putting a hook on the wire form, putting a straight wire out the back so you could put a free swinging hook, weighted or unweighted? I think it would be great for keeping the fish pinned when fighting (similar to the megastrike concept) but worry the hookset might be compromised. It would also allow for easy weight changes without tying a different spinnerbait on...
  10. Looks like you are missing a Moderate action rod - great for treble baits and such. You could add a Heavy rod to the arsenal but unless you are using some heavy jigs or bottom contact baits it isny necessary. Also, you are missing a big swimbait rod/reel!
  11. Jeez. I fish most days for a few hours or more and am currently at...145 bass and 300 pickerel.
  12. One of these days I will buy a 6th sense lure...I keep asking my local shop to get in their stuff and they said not many people ask for it...
  13. I am a braid to leader guy and run almost all T-Wings...
  14. Megastrike Garlic formula is smeared all over everything...maybe it doesnt attract fish, but I know it covers up any odors I transfer over and it covers up the smell of pickerel slime on my gloves.
  15. Owner treble hooks seem to be one of the most popular. I use them but have also had great luck with any of the major name brands. Trokars are about the only ones I stay away from because they seem to rip a huge hole into the fish.
  16. I guess but if.you shop around you can find sales approximately this price. I have never owned a single shimano product so it just doesn't grab my attention I guess.
  17. I have quite a stash of those, always liked them. But in recent years I see so many people suggesting keitech and similar paddletails and, to me, they do not work very well. They work fine on a slow roll but I am rarely slow rolling a spinnerbait.
  18. It seems like unless I go up to 3/4 ounces every trailer on a spinnerbait causes them to roll - even just a bit. I like to be able to vary retrieves and burn it some but if it keeps rolling, you cant really do that.
  19. Why bother with a second split ring, snap or swivel? When I do this I just use a split ring on the hook and weight with my line tied directly to it. Seems to keep it sitting well and has great hook up to land ratios. Just curious. Everyone wants to charge an arm and a leg for them...
  20. How.much do those go for? Sounds awesome - wood baits just have a better feel and sound to them.
  21. I don't get it - is this ci4 the reel to end all reels? Flash sales are always like this...limited quantity, first come first serve.
  22. I would think a Tatula SV reel on a 6'6" M, fast action rod would work well for what you are doing.
  23. My cap is 200 each. I am way too hard on my gear to spend more than that. I honestly try and keep it around 100-150 each though.
