  1. Hey gang......this was brought to my attention. Thought some input was needed. I've already sent an email to the TWRA On August 29, 2007 the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency presented the following proposals regarding sportfish regulations to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission (TWRC). The public is invited to provide comments on these proposals until October 15, 2007. Send your comments to TWRA.comments@state.tn.us or TWRA- Fisheries Division, PO Box 40747, Nashville, TN 37204. TWRC will consider the following proposals at the October 24-25, 2007 meeting. If approved, these changes would take effect on March 1, 2008. Statewide All Reservoirs, except Dale Hollow and Douglas Reservoirs- 18-inch minimum length limit on smallmouth bass. Proposal would not change existing creel limits. This was posted on another board The TWRA has a new proposal which will be voted on next month to increase the size limit on Smallmouth Bass statewide to 18" on all reservoirs. They are inviting comments on this proposal. Having read the proposal there are no apparrent plans for an exception to this size limit in the reciprical area of Ky Lake...ie...the waters between the U.S. 79 bridge at Paris, Tn. and the U.S. 68 bridge at Aurora, Ky. I know many of you fish tournaments here on Kentucky Lake. If this proposal passes without an exception to this size limit in the reciprical area of Ky Lake all I can forsee is mass confusion during tournaments, a lot of folks getting tickets and a loss of some big monies in tourist dollars generated by tournament here. If you see the same things as I do, I would ask that you contact the TWRA and urge them to consider leaving the current 15" size limit on Smallmouth Bass in this reciprical area. Here is the link where you can find the email link to make your comments: http://www.state.tn.us/twra/news/fishcomment.html deb
  2. Lesson to self...and all other non believers ......never, ever underestimate the power of the wild "kitty" cats! I have to admit, I'm not a football fan......but even I had to watch just a little......the first two plays and the Cats last touchdown!!!!!! perfect timing!!! Way to go UK!
  3. And exciting and peaceful at the same time..... Kinda makes you feel like a fish..... Just wait till you are out in open water...........oh what a feeling!!!!!!!! Not that I've ever done it

Hey neat idea............wait..........think I tried that once before.................many yrs ago....... don't think the results were exactly what I was lookin for........ Walked out on the deck a few minutes ago................nope....no fishin for me ......with the moonlight, I can see the whitecaps rolling........ :'( north wind.....straight at me..... Although............I have been told about this private pond.......about 50 miles away.......Dad's boss owns........he's been askin me for yrs to come fish........might be a good time for a scenic drive to TN....but no tellin how many ticks and chiggers I'd bring home....... :-/

I think we're insane..... : was going fishing but..............Ky Lake is upside down!!!!!!!! guess I'll have to find something else to occupy my time.....like...yuck........grocery shoppin or maybe I could cook....... naaaaaah.......chances of that happening aren't good................... ;D
  6. What in the world are you talkin about........basketball is still a couple months away.... ;D must be some kind of cat/bird games they've dreamed up me.....I'm going fishin........
  7. Yeah........somebody missed me !!!!!! I'm here.......somewhere :
  8. OK.......let me set the record straight..........Greg is not my husband.......He is a fellow site member who kindly allowed me to fish my dream............a big(ger) tournament. It was great fun.......He is very simply a friend who also loves to fish......and in case anyones wondering, both spouses were in agreement too....thanks again to them! deb

Catt, so glad you're fine...... Much better to hear about close calls than direct hits
  11. Think I may be the last one to see this........how did I miss it........maybe cause I wasn't expecting it...... Thanks for all the well wishes........but........ It's not a done deal yet........still some very important issues to work out....oh no doubt I'm very interested. I think it would be awesome to pull off. I would love to help put smiles on some very deserving kids and their families but at the same time, I have some serious issues to overcome. I don't want to start this and not be able to give it my all. I can't do it by myself. I have to have help lined up.....dependable help. Financing is also another thing to consider......it's not inexpensive to do this....and do it right. I'm definately considering it and want to.......Nik would love it but I think she'd rather it be for the living.......she know's I remember as do many others............ I'll let you know when a final decision has been made......................deb
  12. Ok son........now that you've chewed on me a while............. I didn't call anyone........and I know how much you love 6am phone calls......... Remember...........I love you, son........after all if it weren't for you........I wouldn't even be aware of bassresource............

  15. What a day! Finally after many yrs of wanting to be in a bigger tournament it was gonna happen. To say I was excited was an understatement...... We launched the boat around 5:15....had to wait about an hour for safe light for blast off....It was so cool.....sitting out there with all these boats, lights glowing......people were talking, but you could still hear the crickets chirping, the smell of engines in the air......the site was unreal....at least to me. Probably my favorite part of the morning. Blast off was a whole different experience......what an adreneline rush.....When they started callin out boat numbers you could feel the excitement! We were boat 8. We would have loved to make the long 35 mile run down to Blood River where I fish but mother nature had other plans.....Wind..lots of wind........we fished Ky Lake some and then made our way over to Barkley by way of the joining canal.....typically Barkley is calmer....Mother nature decided to throw us another curve while running Barkley...........rain, heavy rain! Thank goodness Greg had an extra rainsuit and a dry shirt he loaned me.......I was a drowned rat.. Ok, we didn't win........don't even know where we placed........between us we caught 9 bass, 4 for Greg, 5 for me....and as Greg reminded me often thruout the morning ...........the biggest one I turned loose..........at least 4 lbs....... :'( We had 3 in the livewell, 2 of Greg's and one of mine...... Thanks again to Linda and to Joe. Most especially to Greg......for allowing me to be a part of the day. For not throwing me out of the boat in the "slightly" rough water and putting up with my back pain. It severely limited our fishing spots...although I made it better than I ever dreamed. Most anyone who knows me knows I sleep very little 3, maybe 4 hrs a night.....when I got home, I took a long hot shower, ate a bowl of Captn Crunch, and went to bed. I slept 5 hr, got up for one then went back to sleep for 4 more! I feel like I've been beat with a stick .......or 20+ mph winds and waves and casting for 8 hrs.......but oh what a feeling!!!!!!!! It was a wonderful day! even with me losing the biggest fish, the wind, the rain......I'd do again in a heartbeat!
  16. I've been bass fishing for 12+ yrs. I also had never heard of senkos, ok I'd heard of them but was clueless as to what they were and how to use and quite frankly was embarrased to ask, until......... the bassresource.com addiction bit me There is some great information contained here and some awesome friendships that develope too......It's a great place to be...... Warning........just watch out for Muddy and Avid.......... :

Holy COW!!!!!!! now that's an estimate! you can keep it. How in the world did you do that? or do I want to know............. Yes, it was a pretty fish, kinda skinny but nice for this time of year and where I fish. Yes, it was caught on a kreature but the 4 others I caught was on a funky, green/orange lizard that had blended thru the years.......

Joe had been getting ready for basketball season......putting a UK blue metal roof on.. ;D About 4pm, he came in and said....I hope you don't want to go fishing this evening (who me?) I told him not to worry about it, I could go alone..... We hit the water about 6:30. I caught a couple of dinks....he caught one.....after it was already dark, I hooked something big.......this is what I landed......11#3 oz........ I had been ready to head in till then.....suddenly I wanted to make just a few more casts...I'm glad I did.........This was the next one I caught...... 4# 7 oz........nice........largest bass is a while........
  23. Deb replied to Triton21's topic in Fishing Reports
Way to go Kelley, it's always nice to get paid to go fishin
  24. I've been using them for at least a couple of months almost exclusively.......I use a 3/16 t-rig. Working it slowly, slight movement forward and sit. Don't know why but the bass love 'em. Especially in the grass but the smallies in the rocks like 'em too I've even gone to heating up my punture wounds to get more use out of 'em. I've caught 5 or 6 on one before I have to play nurse. Didn't think it would work, but it does I have also used 'em weightless. I've used them so much I'm buying 4 packs a week........I think I have an addiction ;D
  25. One of the great things about living on KY Lake. It and Lake Barkley are connected by a nice large canal. You never know which lake is gonna produce the winning weights on any given dates.... Maybe soon you'll have the same opportunity as we do
