The inurig. Winner or loser?
I’ve seen it rigged so the hook is tied to the tail where the split ring would be but stuck into the tail like a neko rig, should help with durability, I’m sure this rig will continue to evolve.

Florida bound, what are you taking?
So you’re south Florida bound, what 3 rods and what 3 lures you taking? As much or as little detail as you like. I know it’s not realistic it’s just an exercise, a job opportunity may take me there in the near future. Thanks all.

Medium light, moderate action rod? Lightweight trebles
My main stick for the better part of a decade when I first started bass fishing was a St. Croix premiere 7' medium light fast action 2 piece (always used braid). I used it for jerkbaits, small cranks, shaky/slider worm, wacky, soft jerks, finesse jigs, live bait, on and on. Moderate action rod is preference not necessity.

Norman Fat Boy Alternative
They're still available, only place I know of to get them now is lurenet, just picked up a half dozen of them myself. https://www.lurenet.com/norman-fat-boy?utm_source=Homepage&utm_medium=Feature+Banner&utm_campaign=Feature+Banner+-+Fat+Boys&utm_content=Fat+Boys+-+Feature+Banner Edit: just peeked on the website and seen a 15% off coupon available for first orders on the home page.

Meh Toad Hookup Ratio
What do you use for a hook on that?
-
Meh Toad Hookup Ratio
Yes that's the one I use, I'm sure the gammy would work too, just adjust weight to prevent rolling.

Meh Toad Hookup Ratio
Looks like it's discontinued, no sign of it anywhere on the interwebz. Owner twistlocks have worked well for me, they've got a 5/0 with 1/8 oz keel weight already on it, you could snip some lead off if too heavy.

Shimano Expride 6 ft 10 medium for jerkbaits? Any owners
Bump. To any owners out there, is this rods taper consistent with the rest of the line? Most of the heavier actions are a bit softer than their rating with a touch of bend in the mid-section. Was hoping this one could be my all purpose stick for those one rod excursions to throw jerks, plastics, light jigs etc, main concern is if it’s going to be too stiff for squarebills with mono or fluoro.

A Fall Fishing Jacket
Sorry for the wall of text, I’ve geeked out a bit with cool/cold weather fishing clothing. From the low 60’s on down the following system hasn’t let me down yet. Forget heavy, light is key, three layers gets it done; base, middle, and outer if you buy quality and proper fit. Pick your base layer of choice, most brands offer a light, middle, and heavy, light weight has sufficed for most weather for myself, maybe use middle weight as you approach 40° or windier conditions? I’m in canoe or kayak so I’m usually making a beeline for the nearest bowl of hot soup by this point anyhow. For the mid layer, and my secret weapon, a fairly tight fitting fleece or down vest (NO sleeves!) significantly reduces bulkiness and gives your arms and shoulders all day casting mobility and general comfort even under a form fitting outer jacket layer. For the outer (and most expensive) layer settle for no less than a lightweight jacket with goretex windstopper which is full goretex minus the waterproof qualities but more breathable. Keeping that wind at bay is of utmost importance, just this feature of blocking wind in a very light jacket was a game changer for me, yes it might cost you $100-$200, suck it up, you can go cheap on the first two layers but not here. Armpit zips and a cinch-able waist band allow body temp control, highly recommended. I go with a hoodless jacket combined with a wool or wool blend beanie and a neck gaiter or scarf so that a rain jacket, if needed, will fit over everything comfortably if the skies should open up, goretex for the win here too. Snug-ish fit on everything is key to keeping warm air in, cold air out and the good times rollin’. Haven’t put as much thought into lower body (yet). Full disclosure, I may or may not have loosely borrowed this layer system from hikers. One thing for sure it has 100% helped keep my head in the game for longer on the water.

Wakebait tail material?
I've been checking bdb's website about every week for over a year, they never have them in stock. You talking about circuit board materials like they use for crankbait bills?

Wakebait tail material?
Got a black dog baits shellcracker, and a few other custom wakes, with broken or ripped tails and looking for ideas on what material would work to fabricate my own tails, would prefer a firm rubber like material similar to the r2s s-waver rather than hard plastic. Looked into lexan but it’s all clear, would like the option of colors, any ideas appreciated.

Finesse fishing books...
Not a book but a long article by Rich Zaleski on finesse fishing that I re-read every so often, it’s old school but has some good fundamental info on finesse presentations. http://www.richz.com/fishing/articles/finesse_87_in-fish.pdf

Daiwa Tatula 200 vs Shimano Tranx 200 Line Capacities...???
The 200 tat holds significantly more line, it'll maintain ipt better, I use it for stuff up to about 2oz, Like the others I think 3oz is kinda pushing it on a 200 reel. I'd move up to the tranx 300 myself. The tranx 200 holds 80yds of 65lb braid vs the 300 at 125 yds of 65lb, a whopping 50% more line. The Zillion tw hd is another monster of a reel you might consider with close to the same line capacity as the tranx 300.

FG knot experts, need opinions, advice…
I’m revisiting the fg in hopes of using 50lb braid on a daiwa coastal sv tw, while the alberto is short it’s also thicker and don’t slip through the tws guide. After mn fishers comment about maintaining tension 2 of my next 3 fg attempts were flawless, the final one with 13 wraps. I spooled up and went out to a local river for a quick session, the knot comes through the tws sometimes with a little tick, sometimes a hiccup, other times very smoothly, time will tell if this’ll work.

I couldn't get it grab with 10 or 15. Makes sense, I didn't notice any looseness before but now I know what to look for, I'll keep plugging away at it...
