Smallest Bass Boat
If your fishing from a Kayak your fishing by yourself or close to it. and you also don't mind getting your feet wet. you want a small boat Seo doo fish pro trophy. Has fish finder, live well, rod holders, runs over 50mph, uses less fuel, and easy to pull with whatever you drive. 2 people can fish off it pretty easy. i've fished with 3 lots of times and 4 once.

Rod choices ultralight
I have a St. Croix Legend Elite Panfish 6' UL. I pulled a 7-8lb catfish in. was crappie fishing with 1.5in tubes on a kayak. you would have thought I caught a whale. took 10-15min to get it in. St. Croix has several Panfish UL and Trout UL ranging from $120 up to $400. I know i can feel a trout sucking an egg off my hook at 40ft. Ultra light = Ultra fun. 7lb catfish feels like 70lb tuna.

From a yak & using a spinning reel - Setting the drag...??
I never used the movement of the kayak or boat as they are not instant motion. I have set my drag a lot with six packs 16.9oz bottles of water work also. I use a lot of light line. usually if I hang up its on Rock or big logs. so, breaking off is about only option unless kids accidentally fall in the water. Take a 4lb line one can is about 1lb 1/4 line weight. Hook it on swivel and set drag so you can slowly lift it of ground with the slightest bounce it should pull drag 6 and 8Lb I'll use 2 cans and 10lb i'll use 3 cans. I've pulled in 15lb cats on 4lb line. it's been a long time since I've had a fish break my line. The cat in the pic was brought in on 4lb line.

How do you sell your rods?
This is kind of my way. I know some families that are not as fortunate as I have been. I'll take kids out with me and my kids. If they show interest and have the means to get to the water when I'm not around. I'll give them one of my rigs I don't use. Helps bring others to our sport and enjoyment and gives them something they can enjoy for years to come. The younger ones I'll promise them a setup that they use any time we go out and when they get older if their still around, they can take it home. I get the satisfaction of them saying that's my rod and when they do get to take them home, I get the Satisfaction of seeing the smile on their face. I have fishing buddies any day of the week for most of my life.

First kayak experience and tips
Dual trollies and anchors on kite reels. this makes so you can anchor from any point and point the direction you want. Lifetimes seats suck. look in to aftermarket seats. I have a 14ft sit on lifetime that I've had for over 10yrs. It's just as good as one that would have cost 4 times the money. I use it for short distance under 2-3 miles. and high mountain lakes that don't permit motors. for even shorter distance I use and inflatable pontoon. one thing about the pontoon you can put a set of fins on and hold your position and not have to put my rod down. learning to backhand cast and over the shoulder cast.

Current rod and reel grouping
Daiwa 22 Exist 2500 on St. Croix Legend Xtreme 7ft. Bass, Crappie, Catfish. Daiwa 18 Exist 2000 on SC. Legend Elite Panfish 6ft UL. Crappie, Bass, Catfish 2 Daiwa Saltist MQ & non MQ 3000 on SC Mojo Cat. Catfish Caught about a 4-5lb cat on that Panfish with 4lb line on my kayak. It was quite comical. I had a couple other Kayakers and and a few people on shore stopping and watching. That Cat drug me around for almost 15min. I think they might have been a little disappointed I didn't pull up a land locked sturgeon. but it sure was fun. I changed the handle and knob on the exist with Gomexus carbon fiber one single handle and one twin handle and knob.

Another sunglasses lens color question
Oakley tint isn't as dark as it looks. I have the prizm black which is one of the darker colors and I can see in overcast with them. They have the deep and shallow waters also. Ive thought about getting the lens so I could change them out but found the prizm black works good for blocking sun glaring of snow or even low light. Be prepare if you get them prescription mine where around $750 with HD progressive. Go to an Oakley store if you can't get what you want online. The flak 2.0 XL online can't do progressive but the stores will.

Anyone ever seen for sale a Buff with a beard cut-out?
Thanks to covid. I have a breathable tube that goes around my neck that I can pull up for face cover when needed. It stays under my beard most of the time. Its made out of material like under armor shirts. Actually feels cool in the sun and protects the back of my neck. A wide full brim hat covers my ears.

St. Croix Rod for UL
The avid is a better rod. If was me and bank fishing (the area I fish not a lot of trees to compete with) I would go with the 7' UL single piece. Not a fan of 2 piece rods.

Daiwa exist 1000 or 2500?
And don't get me wrong when I said end up with both and splurge. I'll get 1 this year pretty sure won't be both.
-
Daiwa exist 1000 or 2500?
Just making my mind up I'll probably end up with both the 1000 and 2500 just cause I really like the reel and it makes it easier to keep track of my line weight to reel. There are times I fish 3-5 days out of the week and times Ill go a 2 or 3 months and not wet a line. I am at that point in life that I can splurge more now.

Daiwa exist 1000 or 2500?
Good to know. Nobody has the 1000 in stock so couldn't look at them side by side. I have that Sahara a 1000. So the 2500 exist is probably what I'll go with. How you like that Kage. Can't find one of those in stock either. Wish Daiwa would put out the Ballistic in a 2000. They did on the EX. Have the Ex in a 2000 and 2 Ballistic LT's in 2500 the EX is a tank compared to the LT's. Its not really to big just the exist 2000 on the SC panfish elite is less than 8oz total weight that light weight makes the reel look out of place more of a mind thing. And my mind isn't always right. 2mm difference in spool isn't enough to get me to buy it. Was hoping it would have been a slightly smaller frame.

Daiwa exist 1000 or 2500?
Ok I have an Exist in a 2000. I move it from a SC pan fish elite UL. To a SC legend xtreme Light action. I also have a legend X in a medlight. That I use it on but also have a Shimano stella fj 2500 that goes on the medlight also. I like the stella but prefer the exist. So on Daiwas site it shows the weight of the 1000 and 2000 to both be 5.5oz. The 2000 on an ul just kinda looks and sorta feels big. It balances nice. Was thinking should I get a 1000 for the UL and leave the 2000 for the light and ML? Or should I get a 2500 and move the stella out? I don't need the extra drag weight. So that's no issue. I run 4lb on 1000 series 6lb on 2000 and 8lb on 2500. This puts the current exist 2000 with 6lb on my pan fish elite at the top of the line rating which does shorten my casting. Which with this little light weight is already short enough. So 1000 or 2500? Fishing wise I do some trout. Lot of large and small mouth bass and lot of crappie.

Any one have duplicate set ups?
How you like that 2020. I have last years Legend Xtreme in a ML with a Daiwa exist LT. Might have another for the 2020 to put my stella fj on.

spinning casting distance
I chime in. Me and my brother went through this same thing. Came out to the rod. When all my joints worked right I could load up the tip of a MH rod pretty easy. Now my cast are a little slower and I find if I go use a rod that what every I am casting is towards the upper weight limit I am able to cast further and still be pretty precise on my aim. If I'm in the middle to lower weight of the rod I my distance starts falling off as fast as my aim cause I have to really move the rod to load it up. Reels are rarely the problem when it comes to distance. Other than mismatched sizing.

Which G. Loomis NRX Spinning Rod?
I don't have an NRX but do have a couple SC xtremes and LE's also avid and avid x's I did a closed eyes sensitivity on an NRX the guy touched the tip with a feather and I could feel it. Almost bought it on spot. My XTREME is just as sensitive as is my pan fish elite. There are times I fish the avid's still but alway end with the better rods and catch more. A trout can take a worm of a hook with surgical precision. Bass suck a worm on the drop. I can feel these in the $500 rods where I might not in even the $200 rods. The NRX is a phenomenal rod. Catch what ya can with what ya got. Sorry OP can't help ya on you quest for an NRX. But might be looking at an NRX or a 2020 SC LE for my next one.

Fluorocarbon what do you use?
I don't know if it's opinion or fact. Fluorocarbon can be a royal pia especially if you go to a heavier line. But saying that I probably have 10-12 spinning rigs with fluorocarbon on them. My exist is the only spinning with braid and it will be changed over this year. I break a lot of tackle off using the lighter lines but the trade off I usually limit out. I fish pretty clear waters and the fluorocarbon out fishes the braid. Yes I could tie a leader but I fat and lazy and one knot is enough when you break line 10-20+ times.

Have you ever counted your lures?
I have 8 3700 and 8 3600 boxes loaded in a 7771 and 787 boxes. Then have a couple shipping boxes that have duplicates of all the baits I use most. As plastics get low I restock my box. hooks get low get another bulk pack out. Break a spinner off replace it. When those items I know I use go on sale I buy enough for 10 people for the next couple years.

Plano Edge 3600
The 3600 edge is the same size as the 3650. Not sure how many slots. The 3600 only comes in one configuration. The 37's come in a thin, regular, and deep. The 37's also have crank bait, terminal tackle and a couple others. The terminal tackle is a little bit on the spendy side but if it keeps my hooks from migrating I'll be happy.

Tatula or Stradic Ci4?
I'll chime in. The Ballistic is the direct competitor to the Ci4+. Not saying the tatula isn't a great real. When it comes to these reels they are the best bang for the buck. The Ballistic has a switch for the anti-reverse. Other than that it would depend on the rod. Heavier rod the Ci4 is going to balance better. Buzzbaiter does you MGX look like the lines on the gear cover look like it was cut with an exacto knife. The Tatula, Ballistic, and Ci4 are all 3 great reels. Find the rod you want or take your rod in and mount each reel up and see how they feel.

Fluorocarbon what do you use?
Berkley vanish transition gold. 4lbs on 1000 and 1500. 6lbs on 2000 and 6 & 8lbs on 2500. The 8lbs is almost more of a pain than anything. Not the most abrasion resistant but like the color. Bright gold out of the water and after about 6-8 inches in the water it disappears. Fishing over spillways I can easily see line movements even when not able to feel them. From boat or kayak on cast around debris in the water I can see the gold line drop and manipulate it easier. It might not be the best but works good for me.

Rod fit for Shamano Stradic C14+ 2500 reel
I have a CI4+ 2500 on a St. Croix avid x. MLF. The legend extreme 7' LF is also nice. But my favorite to date is the legend elite panfish 6' ULF. The panfish if your CI4 is a 1000.

Daiwa Fuego 2500 LT Problems
Have 3 LT's and never had a problem. I have thrown braid off a couple other reels. Found using lighter braid 8-10lb and heavier lure weight stopped it.
