Weedless Nose-Hooked Flukes?
I fish flukes quite a bit, nosed hooked using the spring and of course Texas rigged. What I've done in heavier weeds is down size to softer bait that yields better hook sets when rigged weedless. Try some 4" Keitech easy shiners with 3.0 hook and Shad impact 5". Weedless hooks up front never went well in vegetation for me. Here's a comparison for ya'....... fluke on the bottom.

Randy Blaukst Spinning rods for jerkbaits I no longer feel like I lost it
Can't remember when I last threw anything treble on a spinning reel. Love spinning but not trebles and braid.

TM shaft length on flat bottom jon boat

Battery life: Lead acid vs. AGM?
Should have elaborated, my bad. Single battery operation, but have went to dedicated fish finder battery " lithium" and RV tounge mount " lithium " . If I were to tie two 12 volts together to make a 24, they'd be of the same gender, type.

High Pressured Bass Spots - Be Different!
A favored technique and to cover the most water for active fish is to position the boat tight to the bank and cast horizontal ?

To boldly fish like a man who has not fished before
If he casted the HAT, would that be considered an Alabama rig ?

Battery life: Lead acid vs. AGM?
I've been slowly migrating to lithium as lead acid batteries expire. I'm a supporter of technology advancement, why not ? Oh and the significant weight savings. But must admit, although heavy, my lead acid batteries never required but minimal maintenance, add water above the plates once per year. To my understanding, AGM batteries can be oriented in any position without comphromise to performance but why install one upside down? Lol At the end of the day, I'd say lithium would be cost effective with the benefits it provides....... longevity, lethargic charge intervals and weight savings.

It's nice to have shopping options now.
I buy all my Meth.....I MEAN TACKLE at a very nice local bait shop, family owned. They stock exactly what bass fisherman want. Occasionally make a trip to BPS in the city.

Line Memory
This actually works ? BUT going to braid was quite effective as well.

Why leader on braid?
Flouro leader gives me a breaking point when hung and promotes confidence in the very clear water I fish. Moving baits, I like straight braid.

Wife and I were lake camping again and she layed out the frying pan before we even got into the boat. This was a spring fed lake and the fish tasted fantastic. This was her catches and she did all the work.

Any bird experts here ?
Was playing with my Border collie on the floor when this loud thump startled both of us. This Bird ran into the window at the house and broke it's neck " sad ". I've googled birds in VA and yet to find an answer. This bird is bigger than a bluejay but smaller than a crow if that helps....... what is it ? I've have several family members investigating but nothing. New species yet discovered ?

As fisherman, you ever feel like a blind squirrel that finds a nut?
If you ever gigged frogs at night with a spotlight, this story is very believable. Shine a spotlight over bluegill beds and they jump straight into the boat, crazy.
