  1. When I change to a more exotic color worm, Crappie and bluegill pester both me and the worm but it's a tap tap tap........ don't set hook.
  2. Ahh, didn't realize you had it. Hope it subsides for ya' real soon so you can get back to your pursuit of big browns.
  3. Mine was a fishing kayak, spent close to 2k and sold it 2 years later for $500 just to get rid of it. Simply to old to comfortably fish out of it. As far as tackle, it's not that I own baits that won't successfully catch fish. It's having an abundance of techniques and many may get overlooked for the entire year if what I'm throwing keeps producing.
  4. Positiively and always tell your fishing partner to brace themselves when attempting a break. Lol I use my net handle.
  5. Will pray for your mom Mark...... thanks for sharing.
  6. Mature response. 1/4 is the lightest I throw on a baitcaster and 3/8 much more common. Every bait is a moving bait, Spinnerbaits, swim Jigs, cranks, buzzbaits, ploppers etc. Perhaps the fact that the baits I throw are minimal bottom contact ( swim Jigs ) being the exception, more of a bump. My original post was certainly not to debate or boast ( definitely not me ) but just curiosity. Those who get offended, your mamma is just a call away. Lol
  7. Non of the above except luck. Lol
  8. I'm thinking you nailed it ?
  9. Since joining BR I've read many threads where members talked about braided line digging into spool. Since I'm an exclusive braid user I always took note and never dismissed what other experienced fisherman had to say about this. More time passes and more threads regarding digging become mainstream and I'm Left with this....... what's going on ? Why would the baitcasting reels I'm using not experience digging when using thin diameter 20# braid ? Starting to feel discriminated apon. One of you old cats elaborate why I don't have issues with digging....... what am I doing wrong ? Lol
  10. I tried 50# braid once, it was like casting garden hose so went back to 30# braid for frogs. Lol My fishing partner said it best last week in heavy lilly pads. He drug in a 1/2 acre of pads along with a 2# bass and said " 50# braid would have sunk the boat" lol Braid is tough stuff, even 4 strand.
  11. Welcome to the site Jordan ?
  12. That's a big smallmouth from a big river ?
  13. Bird replied to Catt's topic in Everything Else
Sounds like you're well loved my friend ?
  14. Don't let other fisherman get your pannies in a bunch. Happens 75 % of the time I go out and I just chuckle. All I can think is they see a boat and they think.....ah they know where the fish is at. Good for you for helping them.
  15. Lol, is that johnny Depp whistling for Amber ? Sorry couldn't help it.
  16. Bass have an internal instinct to swallow head first on fish prey. Want to increase your hookup ratio on Zoom flukes ? Hook them in the mouth with a circle hook.
  17. Wow, what a life debacle for you and the girls. Praying you stay focused for your Girls and give them love and direction. Thanks for sharing such a tragic time, wild.
  18. I refuse to use super glue anymore, knot gonna buy it. Lol I get one or two uses out of it and the whole bottle turns to concrete, same with Gorilla glue. BUT, confidence is a major player in bass fishing and we become better fisherman with it.
  19. Been fishing in West by God the whole month and Crappie bed 1st , then Bass, then blue gil. They are on beds now here in central WV.
  20. We did the same thing and the shock comphromised the terminal connectors. Even if the battery connections feel tight, loosen them, wiggle and retighten. We do also have an inline fuse but it survived. Hope you get this resolved ?
  21. The main reason I went to the crossover rings is for the hook orientation to the bait. The black Orings suggest a more Neko style and I struggle with 2 Orings. Snake oil ? Perhaps a little but if it ain't this, it'll be something else...... fishing.
  22. Some baits skip much better than others. I can't skip Jigs on concrete but a wacky rig Senko and Zoom flukes will skip a mile. Lol
  23. Wow, I would be offended by that dictatorship......and of course be fined. Lol
  24. What city ? Our town doesn't even have a stop light. Lol
  25. If you let your yard go, you'll get an assortment of beautiful flowers and a few hummingbirds.
