I'm right at about 50 bass this year and my last 10 were on Spinnerbaits. Bass love wood and so do Spinnerbaits ?
  2. It's been a cooler than normal spring here as well and of course the wind. Beautiful fish

Correct ? Today was very windy with ripple and Spinnerbaits trumped. Yesterday was glass water, clear water and fish didn't want the flash....swim jigs. Eventually I'll navigate a little.

I'm experiencing tunnel vision in my bait choices this year and can't seem to stray from them. Lol I fish a lot, I'm talking 3 - 4 days a week but yet every fish I've caught this year has been on 2 baits. Swim jigs and spinnerbaits, that's it. Now I find myself grabbing one or the other and not experimenting with other baits that could potentially produce. My fishing partner is starting to become concerned asking why I bring all that tackle. Idk Went today and threw swim jigs and spinnerbaits for 6 hrs straight but had Jerkbaits, flukes and wacky tied on other outfits. Perhaps I need counseling. Ever get fixated on certain baits ??
  5. Mainly on a swim jig.....Rage chunk perhaps my favorite.
  6. My Shimano SLX gets thrown every outing. It really is a great reel and certainly won't disappoint.
  7. Fishing the river is a little more work because it's usually floating from point A to point B but the fishing is fantastic, especially smallmouth. Probably choose a small lake though.
  8. Jigs and T - rigged worm.
  9. Congrats on the jig catch.?
  10. Sounds like you may just need to avoid bottom contact. Spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, swimbaits, top water baits, drop-shot might be better options in this cove.
  11. 90% of my Spinnerbaits have gold blades and they catch 90% of the fish......but I throw them 90% of the time.
  12. Well I was 8 and sure my response would have been laughed at.
  13. Completely understand what your say'n and definitely doesn't make sense at times. Fished for 6 hours today throwing proven prespawn baits, Jigs and jerkbaits and never got a bite the 1st 5 hrs. Grabbed a med light with a pearl 3 1/2" Keitech swimbait and the fish exploded on it for the next hour. Idk
  14. Been fishing since January but still replying to 10 yr old threads. Lol Wish the OP's were still around.
  15. Perhaps Johnny Depp ??? Idk
  16. Is the main culprit the search engine ? I've noticed an increase in decade old threads being resurfaced and start to replie then bail once I see the date. Lol It does however create more discussion but most times the OP is long gone.......and I thought I was old. ?
  17. Oh shoot, was getting ready to respond...... he's probably retired or on disability by now. Lol
  18. While on the subject of boat hygiene, ever use 303 aerospace UV protectant ? This stuff is fantastic for eliminating fade and cracks. Better solutions already mentioned for scum line though.
  19. Senko would be my guess as well. I mainly throw them, Dingers and ZinkerZ.
  20. Go whenever you can and likely one of the most universal baits you can throw.....the Texas rigged plastic worm ?
  21. I'll have to echo that. While I enjoy finding them and eating them, not crazy about dealing with the ticks and chiggers that seem to want to Hitch a ride while I'm searching.
  22. Daily limits vary wildly from lake to lake here. The very rare occasion that I keep a Bass ( hook mortality ), it never sees a freezer.
  23. I'd rather fish with 3 two year olds then fish in wind. Braid don't like it either.
