  1. Really depends on the bait. Imo Moving baits seem to have a higher hookup ratio vs slower presentations because the bite is more obvious and the baits forward progress is suddenly stopped.....WHAM. Slower presentations require the fisherman to engage his or her senses moreso, bite detection. Another words, I'm much closer to 100% with Spinnerbaits and swim Jigs vs T-rigged soft plastics. Just my theory on the matter.
  2. Improperly inflated tires are indeed the #1 culprit in tire failures. Wife and I have been RVing for over 30 years and often times it's a convoy of 6 - 8 trailers, friends and family traveling long distances. Each trip usually involves a blowout and it's always the same thing....... someone didn't check tire pressure and I have to break out the portable compressor and inflate the remaining tires to proper PSI. AND it'll happen again this year ?
  3. Wife and I also travel a lot but most of the time it's a resort or Airbnb. A good day in the sun is a sure fire way of getting a good nights rest. Hotel ? Only as a last resort.
  4. We catch an abundance of those creatures on the east coast but call them Skates. I don't know the difference though.
  5. I'll take 6 am over 6 pm because I usually start at 6 am and to old to fish for 12 hours.
  6. The Lews Rods that I own will never be available at Walmart. But you can't blame them for mass sales of lower end rods.
  7. Well it's become painfully obvious that yards and driveways should not be a priority nor should it consume our valuable time. Next question ❓?
  8. Sounds like you're targeting smaller fish for a little more action, nothing wrong with that. Small paddle tail swimbaits on a 1/16 head, Mepps #3, Ned rig , 4" Roboworms on a drop-shot all come to mind but can also yield bigger fish.
  9. Back when the wife and I boondocked " no electricity" , I simply carried an extra deep cycle battery. I believe that to be a better and cheaper option to a generator and fuel. Imo
  10. ? Had a feeling that was coming. Mowed and weed eated today, that should get me to August ?
  11. Aesthetics...... gotta have a red hook on a pearl fluke ?
  12. I won't go anywhere near water until Tuesday......nope, not gonna do it.
  13. E85

I would take advantage of the savings given your truck excepts the higher ethanol. My youngest brother has a flex-fuel vehicle and runs E85 all the time. The only thing to consider is fuel economy may likely suffer but to what degree?
  14. LeBron would have caught a bigger fish ?
  15. No, I'm surprised by their warranty service or lack there of. Talk to many on the water and Lew's is aboard many if not most of the fisherman I talk to. Gotta believe they are top or very near as far as sales are concerned. Certainly, give me a Shimano ?
  16. This is surprising. They have to be at the top of the food chain as far as sales. Would like to know the outcome.
  17. Terrible pic, my apologies but yes our driveway was paved in 2003. Sorry if I'm a negative influence ?
  18. Asphalt driveway laid 19 years ago and have never touched it. It has faded however but in very good condition structurally.
  19. I've not seen price hikes across the board like we're seeing presently.
  20. ^ this is accurate. Wife and I had an arm loan in mid 90's and watched it climb to 14 %. In less than a year we were refinancing at 5 % fixed........ride the Waves. This one does feel different though.
  21. All of us that have been making the 2 hr drive to Anna for many years have been reporting the same thing...... Anna has been consistently producing better fish recently compared to the past. Not sure why but numbers and size have been very encouraging. I've only fished the cold side. Oh, this was yesterday, Sturgeon creek.
  22. Speaking of critters !! Had the craziest thing happen last night. Sitting on back porch, kept hearing this high pitched squeal in the yard so ran up to the noise. A shrew repeatedly came up from the grass and was biting on my shoe. It turned into a frenzy as the little critters were running everywhere. Party ended when the Border Collie arrived on scene.......Shrew carcasses lying around everywhere. 1st for everything.
  23. Try top water early and cast horizontal to the bank......buzzbaits, whopper ploppers, spooks. Sounds like you're targeting the right areas so perhaps it's time for different techniques if the fish aren't cooperating. Weightless Senko's wacky rigged or T-rigged is a proven summer bait. Keep fishing ?
  24. More details of the body of water your fishing. Water clarity, type of structure, grass or pads, how large the body of water. Are you on the bank on in a boat ? We can help but need a few more details.
