My Fishing Style is Changing
Early in the morning I'll burn around a smaller lake with top water, casting horizontal to the bank. Mid morning I'll slow down focusing on cover with plastic. In the afternoon, heat has this ole' guy running for cover.

Trolling motor for kayak thrust question
I ran a 45lb thrust with a 35ah battery on my last kayak and could fish all day as long as I stayed off the highest setting. 55lb seems a little excessive for a kayak and a noticeable weight difference vs the 36lb. In my mind, 36lb thrust paired with a 50 ah battery would be ideal. Also be aware that running the motor on high for long periods is not recommended, wiring gets hot.

I use the original Baitmate with anise oil. Yes, believe it can make a difference in enticing a bite on slower presentations. Is it absolutely essential ? Debatable.

Jig vs T-Rigged Craw
In wood and standing timber, give me a jig. A jig feels more like power fishing and and T-rigged Zoom craw feels more finesse...... at least the way I fish them. Jigs I keep them moving. You won't be disappointed with either.

Anyone have a covered boathouse? How do you keep the swallows from nesting inside?
As kids we use to rid barns of pigeon infestation. Problem was, by the time we shot all the pigeons, the barn roof looked like a minnow seine. Magnetic netting is cheap and effective and would probably be the route I'd take to eliminate birds nesting in a boat house.

Wacky Worm

Big Catch... Ouch
Good idea getting rid of the other hooks before the fishing line procedure. Hopefully your next big catch will have gills.

Question about a sting ray I caught.
I reexamined the photo and the Ray is much flatter than I previously thought so I'd say 5 - 6 lbs ?
