  1. Empty water bottles, wrappers, soft plastics that have been molested all get thrown in the cooler. Cooler gets dumped and washed out apon arriving home.
  2. Can't say I've ever trolled for Bass...... trolled for Blues ?
  3. I have no issues with spinning reels and some days it breaks up the monotony of power fishing "preferred method" just to throw a 3" Keitech on a 1/16 head using light gear. It does however make me grin when I see someone throw a buzzbait on spinning and the bait finally surfaces half way back to the boat ?, or a Spinnerbait fluttering backwards when it hits the water. Certainly this can be mitigated by fingering the spool.......like a baitcaster.
  4. Spinning for skipping baits. My 2 favorite are flukes and wacky Senko's. All finesse is done on spinning as well. BUT, if I consider every bait in my tackle bag, 75% would get thrown on casting.......all trebles, all top water, Jigs , Spinnerbaits etc.
  5. Freeing lures from limbs has created more flying baits then hook sets. One good WHACK you become more patient and make a trip to the bank on the next one.
  6. I've had the same best friend my entire life. We both love bass fishing and have been fishing together since the late 70's and talk on the phone almost every evening. He is a extremely mellow, kind gentleman and a fish catching machine. Ironically, my wife has had the same best friend for about the same time frame. They see each other almost every day as this fine lady is the branch office administrator for my wife's business of 18 years.
  7. No rule really. The bow mount will work in your favor in shallow water as you can see approaching hazards. I've had my propeller half way out of the water while navigating shallows, just be careful not to turn sharp to avoid contact of bow. When you get back into deeper water, simply lower it.
  8. Never have on a T-rig. Always did on a C-rig but haven't thrown that in many years.
  9. Focus on heavy cover, deep or shallow. Water temps in the mid 80's, focus on other interests.
  10. I let young hunters hunt the property and many of the bucks I've gotten on camera are taken during the rut. They really are territorial animals but the true giants disappear. Lol
  11. I live on a large parcel of mountain property which joins George Washington National Forest in the back. I have deer in the yard most days but never the trophy bucks I get on my trail cams.
  12. Ran into a nice gentleman years ago while hiking. He was an author of several books which promote better health. He shared with me his top 3 for optimal health. (1) drink plenty of water (2) exercise (3) sleep well I have to agree with his claims but will add....... don't allow stress to be a part of daily routine.
  13. Had to Google it, very interesting. Pro's....... increased action, something fish may not have seen. Cons....... labor intensive, wouldn't seem very mobile through heavy cover.
  14. We're in the dog days here and the bite has slowed considerably.
  15. Haven't fished for channel cats for years but use to quite a bit...... used raw shrimp. Was just at a BPS this past week and noticed they had a HUGE section of catfish baits.
  16. It's obvious that the CCC has been exceeded.
  17. Shimano SLX with 50# Power Pro.
  18. Sharks ! Wife can drive off a boat in the middle of the Ocean while I sit there sucking my thumb...... it's actually embarrassing.
  19. How big is the body of water you mainly fish? May be better off keeping the truck and getting a Bass Raider.
  20. Around here, if you set the hook on a tap-tap-tap, you'll lose the worm to a bluegill. I set the hook when the line moves which is almost always the case with bigger fish.
  21. Don't forget about 1996. Nebraska 62 Florida 24. Lol
  22. My best friend in the Army was from Nebraska and we'd go see the GREAT Cornhuskers play under the GREAT Tom Osborne....... perhaps the greatest teams in college football history.
  23. This is good to know and something I've often wondered.? Oh, never did believe the tall tale that fish completely disolve the hook.
  24. Imitate Calves ??? These are some serious fish you're pursuing ?
  25. Ha Ha thanks, it was Cutco and was a very nice college kid.
