  1. Never caught an Owl and would rather not. Lol I did over cast a Spinnerbait and hang it on a dock and the family dog came running down and grabbed it and took off. All ended well but still have the vivid memory of that fiasco.
  2. Hah ! You're timing is impeccable. Just yesterday, mowed, weedeated and sprayed Roundup...... today? Pressure washed the house. Lol Yeah, no curbs. Lol
  3. Fresh from the garden...... boiled, grilled and low country broil, fantastic.

Thinking the wife needs to start an account here. Lol Cast iron skillets and crockpots are the norm here.......and I ain't complaining.
  5. I've struggled mightily with flourocarbon and spinning reels, never found holy grail...... line twist made me say bad words.
  6. Once you retire you are always rested. Only time I'm de-motivated is when the heat and humidity is more than I can handle...... which is often in August.
  7. We are almost exclusively cast iron here. I can cut the burners off and fry for 10 more minutes.
  8. I throw them around stumps and bang them through heavy and standing cover. A top 5 technique for this fisherman year around.
  9. Where I live reminds to many of the movie " wrong turn " so no, never met a member of any forum. Lol
  10. Wife and I camp on lakes quite often. I lose track of what day it is but am quickly reminded by the increased activity. On weekends, I simply get on the water at Dawn and off when the party starts.
  11. The little ones come right out with cooperation. The big ones wrap and break off. 2 years ago during the prespawn, hooked a good one on a Jerkbait and the fish took it straight down into timber. I could see down in the gin clear water, fish is pinned and wrapped. I simply watched without a clue what to do other than wait. Finally fish broke off with Jerkbait in it's mouth. I can't think of formula that will sucessfully yield bigger fish wrapped in submerged timber but I do know trebles aren't ideal.
  12. Doesn't make sense as most of if not all the handles can be oriented on either side. Why fight gravity ? Plus spinning rods lack the guides for this.
  13. Only own charcoal grills and grill often, infact year around. I take a deer every year and butcher a cow every other year so always a surplus of meat to grill. A little secret at the end, take your meat off direct heat and throw a little apple wood on the coals....... fantastic.
  14. I stock up heavily over the winter which gets me through the year. Actually walked the aisles of the fishing section at BPS in Wheeling WV recently and bought nothing. Lol Now when I do go on this big annual spending spree, I gotta put the tailgate down.
  15. Oh no, no gambling. Never even bought a lottery ticket. Lol
  16. Went fishing today and caught everything on a swim jig. Lol

Wait ! I'm a really nice person and don't like to offend...... BUT are you saying retie after every fish ? ....... ludicrous I say ?
  18. Looks like a really good day ?. I love any kind of vegetation other than snot grass...... absolutely nothing can go through it.
  19. Fall always meant deer season, sitting in treestands checking trail cams. Since I retired over 2 years ago, it's hunt one day and fish the next.......and of course the wife's fantastic chilli. Yes, give me fall.
  20. Stumps, submerged timber and standing timber are my favorite places to throw Spinnerbaits.
  21. Heck I'm exhausted after throwing a 1/8 drop shot for several hours. We're so excited and focused, we don't realize the energy used. NAP TIME. lol
  22. It's a common theme among celebrities but don't hurt me none. Michael Jordan is another high flying gambler. Lol

So the moral of the story is....... depends on who's throwing the Ned. ?
  24. Bird replied to dodgeguy's topic in Fishing Tackle
Idk, haven't fished Ned this year yet but can't argue that small baits increase deep hooks. Wind has caused more issues than small hooks by eliminating sensitivity. My last fish demise was with a weightless Senko in high wind........ couldn't feel the bite, hated that.
